I didn’t have yellow jack on my ciguatera radar before. I grew up in Key West and always passed on big cubera snapper , cuda , etc.

I learned something from this video , I got curious about ciguatera toxins and googled it 👍👍thanks . Now I know not to consume too much reef fish..but as saying goes that it should always in moderation with everything.

ciguatera poisoning typically encountered when consuming a larger fish due to biomagnification
Some people reported that even tap water bothers them. Hot water feels cold and cold water burns you. And how long did this last for you? You hear it can last for a very long time or just a couple of days. Centuries ago when I was avidly diving we heard of fish food poisoning but never ciguetera neurologic symptoms. Now that I am getting back into it questions flood. Hope you get over it soon.
Always eat a small portion of a baracuda 1st even if its small bigger fish test 1st eat a small amount and see next day

Well that sucks you know they make tests for that poison they have test kits out that you can test the meat of the fish it's probably worth the money if you're going to be in that type of area to test your fish. Actually the best bet though is go after Yellow Tail tuna go after snapper in the Deep little rod and reel you know go after things that are not in the reefs close up PSP it's just like that one

Dude sorry you got sick. However, you seriously need to stick to fishing with a hook. Grazing fish and spearing a fish and leaving it is wrong. You spear a fish you go back and get it. You don’t leave it. You need much more practice before you go back to spear fishing
