- Thanks to the unwavering determination of Super Sonic, a treasured friend was saved from an otherwise tragic demise. The living weapon, Emerl, lives another day-having grown beyond his programming with the support of his friends.
After his most recent battle against Dr. Eggman's newest creation, Gemerl, life has seemingly returned to normal. However, Emerl's powerful link with Sonic has begun to pull him into new ventures. In an age-old city of canals, the Gizoid is about to become wrapped up in a mission to save a young noble, grim tidings from a not-so-distant future, and the Doctor's plan to harness the devastating Flames of Disaster.

I’m making a joke using that meme of John Cena sticking his head through a hole in a green screen based on everyone’s expectations of Emerl beating Mephiles, vs. the reality of what actually happens.
Mephiles ends up killing Sonic. This is probably the part where everyone would expect Emerl to fight and beat Mephiles. But because Sonic and Emerl’s friendship is based on the bond Sonic made with Emerl by being stronger than him, Mephiles was able to severe that link (through killing Sonic, Mephiles showed that he was stronger than Sonic).
As a result of Sonic’s death, Emerl was reprogrammed and turned docile, since he was designed to follow anyone who was stronger than himself or his current master, that being Sonic, who was just killed.
I hope that cleared things up. Lol.

Seriously, this is really my first experience with Emerl, (Other than Sonic X), and I wish he was in more things, but alas, he's dead. ;v;
You haven't seen more of him because the writers killed him off after someone gave Emerl the cheese touch. They then decided to replace him with Gemerl for good measure.

What If Idea:
What if Blaze and Sonic switched places. As in Sonic is trying to protect the Sol Emeralds while Blaze is trying to use the Chaos Emeralds save Sonic's world.
IDK I just got inspiration for this idea when ?????? commented about Sonic and Tails being stuck in Blaze's dimension.
No, Blaze and Sonic would still be their original personalities. But what Tails's connection to Blaze would be does actually sound like an interesting prospect.

These are always so amazing dude. I love all the unique concepts you put into them. I do have an interesting idea: What if The Zeti Appeared Much Earlier and actually worked with Dr. Eggman. I think it would make some interesting changes to certain games like 06 and Unleashed. That being said kept up the amazing work.

I like that Emerl's personality evolves into a Spiderman/Peter Parker like personality. I think it fits him, since Peter and Sonic are pretty close in that regard and Emerl with the link makes sense.

The idea of Rush taking place after 06 does make sense, since when Blaze sacrifices herself to destroy Iblis could taken her to Marine's world, and she could have known about Sonic simply by looking at archived footage of him

If there's one thing this franchise has taught me, it's that copycats are either equal to or less than their originals, meaning they NEVER win. That's just the way it is 🤷♀️ To break this idea would be... catastrophic for the series.

I think that while team sonic and dark were in the future, they could’ve gone after all of the future emeralds and have Emerl absorb them too, making him MUCH more powerful (except two, so that they can escape to the present, then have Emerl absorb them too)

"What if the different AUs you met came crashing together with the normal sonic world somehow?" how would Sonic deal with another sonic who wasn't plagued by being a werehog? how would Emerel react to the not evil Gemerl? how would the cast (particularly Omega) react to E-102 Gamma? and how would Espio and the Chaotix react to his Zeti Trained self? that would be interesting.

I feel your frustration. There was an American Godzilla movie in the 1999 but the Kaiju in there was not Godzilla but a Kaiju named Zilla. Despite that it was good, it has brought shame to the Godzilla franchise that one made Godzilla movie in the early 2000s brought the rights, just so Godzilla can destroy Zilla in the big screen. I have a What If suggestion.
What if when Sonic turned Super Sonic in Sonic 2, he released negative energy and the said energy was absorbed into Tails?
This idea of mine came up, because in Adventure Sonic only then learned about the positive and negative energy of the Chaos Emeralds.
So maybe when Sonic first turns Super, some of the negative energy of the Chaos Emeralds is absorbed into Tails. Nothing happens straight away, but it slowly builds up overtime in the games.
I can see this becoming an issue for both his friends and enemies in either Sonic 06, Colours, Lost World and Forces.
Tails turn into a Dark form when he is highly stressed and when the Emeralds are around. Tails' personality could also change in his normal form, being afraid of himself and also less hesitant to fight due to fear of losing his friends.
Just like your 'What if Sonic never lost his Werehog form' I can see Tails suffering from nightmares of his Dark Counterpart killing his friends and destroying all of Mobius.
Its just something fun I came up with.

What if Sonic could use the Darkspine form consistently and to justify how it would work, maybe sonic keeps the world rings after the fight with Alfa Layla wa-Layla. Heck, Sharah could be a recurring character similar to light gaia/chip.

Sonic what if ideas: what if Maria had never died. What if the echidna’s never went extinct. What if sonic had a family. What if Mario and sonic swapped worlds. What if Sonic became a jedi. What if amy hated sonic.
I dunno about anyone else, but the encounter with Mephiles has to be my favorite scene.
It isn't just Emerl decking him in the face though.
My favorite part of that scene has to be the beginning.
The copycat unveils the twisted fate of the Ultimate Lifeform, and offers a dark temptation.
Why should Shadow fight for them if they will only cast him aside in the end?
But then, a synthetic voice cuts off the insidious monologue: it's your friendly neighborhood Gizoid!
The living superweapon pleads with his former master, begging him not to give in to fear and hate.
With little more than a smug chuckle, Shadow shrugs off the knockoffs ultimatum, stating that no-one can change them into monsters.
The hatred and antipathy of countless others is nothing compared to the faith of a single friend.
(Sorry if I rambled a bit, I just _really_ like how this scene sounded.)

People who say “Em-L” or use the hard G in Gemerl are the same wrong people who say “high-draw-city”
I really like how you’re adapting 06, but if I’m remembering correctly, which I could be wrong, there was an official statement at some point that Rivals Silver is the canon Silver and that Blaze is entirely from the Sol Dimension. And while you could say that the timeline being rewriting would change Silver to be from the Rivals timeline, the sections with Blaze would still have to be not entirely canon. Sonic canon is definitely a mess, and mandates can always change it, but I know that statement was a thing that’s considered canon at some point, and it wouldn’t be nearly the first time that mandates contradict the games. That does still cause problems with Eggman Nega but no matter what’s taken as canon, there’s always going to be some issue with the group of games. Anyways though, great episode, you’re a great storyteller.
