- what happens when you force a torque converter into place most common mechanic problem we all face. this is the after math of not settle the converter into place correctly and using the transmission bolts to close completely. as shown here it destroys the internals of oil pump and its ring gear.
Hello ... I realize that this is an old post but i would like to know if the two dots on the pump ring gears have any meaning at all?
No just pockets where oil will sit and act as a cushion
I appreciate all questions and concerns I will respond to any question as fast as possible
Dude didn't u say in the beginning of the video that u made this mistake your self, yet your talk shit about mechanics that have done this! So did you install this guys transmission or engine 😅
How do you fix it
Was this a 6 speed auto?
I had a friend doing most of the work swapping my engine with a crate engine in a B3000, 5R44E transmission, and they couldn't get tranny all the way up against engine, so they put in the bolts and tightened them up to snug it up. Now my tranny isn't pumping fluid and we probably spent about 45 minutes going through the gears to get it to shift, and no gears worked. When we first fired up engine it shifted, then that was it. Is my tranny toast now or can I just replace the pump? It was full of fluid but how much damage is done going through gears with no fluid pumping?
what i would do is drain and inspect the fluids make sure is clean no debris from pump, if all is good then just pull trans replace the pump and try again ... but since it was forced together i would also inspect the input shaft and make sure al splines are straight and not binded. of course if its manuel .. auto just double check fylwheel for anycracks or even a bent ring gear!!! sorry for the late responce hope you have problem resolved.
