- Sony has just released their 'Imaging Edge Webcam' software, which allows you to use your Sony camera as a webcam.
1. Download support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/...
2. Install Imaging Edge Webcam software
3. Set Sony camera USB Connection mode to 'PC remote'
4. Plug camera into computer and turn on
5. In Zoom, Teams, Skype for Business etc, select 'Sony Camera (Imaging Edge) as your webcam

Hello, the WX-800 is listed under ‘Digital Still Camera’ as ‘DSC-WX800’.
You can record for as long as Zoom or CZcams allow you to. One thing to note, Sony cameras can overheat, if they do, they’ll automatically shutdown.

It usually only works with your specific camera model. I’ve only been able to try on the Sony A7C and the Rx100 M4

depends on the camera, some A series cameras requires a dummy battery, other can be charged through usb-c/micro-USB.

It’s compatible with the Sony webcam software, you don’t need clean hdmi out.

Might check back every couple of weeks and it might be supported, but for now, I don't think it is
What happen to the dsc hx80 model?
Hi @Haisey Flores, I’m not sure. Maybe the hardware doesn’t support it. If it has a hdmi out, you can use a capture card to output the video.

As per the link in the description, Sony doesn't support this camera as a webcam and it doesn't have any hdmi out. Your best option is to use your phone as a webcam, you can find that video on my channel.
now that its out for mac, it works well for zoom, but teams does not recognize cam
My recommendation is to check out my other video that teaches you how to use OBS virtual webcam. With the latest version, you won’t even need to download the plugin
@@ronnbizzy thanks, but the whole point of this software from Sony was to not need a capture card or OBS. Guess I’ll wait for Teams to catch up on macOS
@@willgavillan bandaid solution till Sony or Microsoft come out with an update. Depends how badly you want it to work. Where there’s a will there’s a way.

Perhaps you should use a different web browser or if it’s happening on Chrome that “your connection is not private”, you should got to advanced and go to website anyway.
I checked the website, if doesn’t look like the DSC-80 is listed as a compatible camera unfortunately.

Hi Lea, I had a look at the link in my description, it doesn't look like the WX500 model is listed. Maybe keep an eye out for it and they might introduce compatibility for it in the future.
