The only pack of lies are what some chose to tell themselves. They they don't teach Irish history in Britain. Facts are a million nominal British subjects died as a result of starvation because the British administration in Ireland under Trevelyan claimed the famine was gods punishment on the Irish and not much should be done. The same who said of the people of Scotland at that time - that on no accounts should they be allowed to starve. The same British government who after barely a year of the famine, passed laws which ensured that those starving had to give up any tiny piece of land they held in order to receive meagre amounts of famine relief, meaning that 100s of 1000s ended up destitute at the side of the road without even the barest cover of habitation to live in. Then if that wasn't enough yet another law passed all responsibility for famine relief the to mainly British absentee landowners, who in turn turfed out any tennants who were still hanging onto to their small holdings. That and the labour schemes where the starving were obliged to undertake heavy manual labour under brutal conditions on the sides of mountains and similar for less than the value of food needed to stay alive. So there's no "lies", rather its disbelief and ignorance of the ethnic cleansing which actually happened.
