I have the same exact problem with the furminator! Looking for a new shedder and came to a couple of videos. Thanks for the video!
it's 1am and i don't have any pets, idk how i got here 😅
😂
😂😂😂
love your video, funny well made and informative. Thanks
Yeah it's rough on your skin but he's has a thick double coat
Still reaches the skin though to some extend?
It only teach there skin if your push down to much.
Exactly, i don't think these two are very high in the perception area
The furminator is awesome!!!!! I just got one and the difference between that and other brushes is huge. Great product!
@@rmoore4872 yes but remember that is also because it yanks basically any fur strands it comes in contact with. They even recommend not using it too often it for extended periods...trust me I have a husky. He's not exactly a fan. It's great for a quick 5 minute touch up but for shedding season where you may spend upwards of 30mins with your dog by brushing him? nope! Just ky opinion
We have a shiba and I just bought the zoom brush! It’s amazing!!
I have both the furminator and the zoom groom for my two corgis. Mostly we use the zoom groom, it's great! But for extreme situation or removing dirty/dry muddy fur the furminator does come in handy. We got the one for cats though, smaller and not as harsh.
Awesome! The zoom groom is great 👍
Cooper has such beautiful fur! I try to imagine my face buried in his ruff and snuggling him. That wonderful sweet smell of soft clean corgi fur too. Pure happiness!💓💓😘😘😘
Smelly good 😁
Thanks for the video. We haven't tried the silicone brushes before. It looks like they work really well though...and it looks like Cooper enjoys them.
Thanks for watching! We do recommend a silicone brush. They are effective.
The furminator is not supposed to touch the animal's skin. Only fur. They have it in the instructions that come with the tool.
It’s impossible to avoid touching the animal’s skin when brushing his/her fur. It would deem the tool even more ineffective. Thanks anyway.
Cooper the Happy Corgi don’t know if you will see this but for cooper touching avoiding touching his skin is really hard but I think the furminator is manly for dogs who’s fur is real thicc like a husky.
a lot of people are saying that testing a brush on human skin is stupid but in Coopers case that’s a good test. So while people say your ways of testing a brush is wrong I think that your the one who’s right and the furminator just isn’t for you and your dog. People shouldn’t complain about about what you said cause In the end your still right cause it’s your OPINION not a fact. So I say keep not using the furminator on cooper cause it’s not meant for him and keep making these good vids. Sorry for ranting about stupid topic just wanted my opinion out there somewhere
Pieman Gaming can you suggest me a brush for my GSD lam confused however at this
@@ice_girl_001 I use the furminator for my GSD
i use the furminator on our gsd/red heeler mix and he enjoys it. you aren't supposed to rake the skin. it's not a garden rake.
The Zoom Groom is awesome! Takes hair out in clumps and it sticks to the brush. Easy to clean. My boxer loves it.
We like the Zoom Groom too!
Cool I got a terrier mix puppy, I'm trying different kinds of brushes to see which one is the right kind for her though thanks
Metal comb also works really well on this type of hair, you brush at an angle so it’s not messing up the skin
Thanks for this important video. I am fostering a corgi and have been overwhelmed with hair after having a dog who never shed. Was concerned when my friend used the furminator on this corgi. Will switch to your recommendations. Going on your Amazon now.
Thank you so much! I'v been trying to find the right brush for my corgi
Glad we could help!
I’m not a dog exporter but I think dogs have thicker skin then humans so what ever you feel when you pass that on your arm it’s not the same for dogs. I think
You’re right.
Actually dogs do have more sensitive skin than humans. So....
And you don’t have to believe me .. ask any vet.
also they have fur so they wouldnt be able to feel it as much as on bare skin
They have thinner skin.
Olivares Silviano yes one is a shiba inu and my other vet is a panda
Beautiful day. Cute corgi💛
Thank you!
thank you for this honest review. ur honesty is super helpful!
You’re welcome and thank you for watching!
I wanna get a dog too! My favorite is a welsh corgi, like cooper!
I use the furminator and it is pretty good on my dog
And also DONT compare it to your skin DOGS HAVE A THICK COAT
Do what makes the most sense for you and your dog. For us, we don’t like the furminator because it tends to scrape off and damage the outer coat, and Cooper also doesn’t like it. Thickness of dog skin also doesn’t equate to lack of sensitivity- that’s often the misconception around dog skin. Again, every dog is different and we encourage people to consider different perspectives and most especially, to take their dog’s comfort into account.
Cooper the Happy Corgi Ok my dog does not liked being brushed by any brush
So glad you said that about the furmonstor lots of people recommended it to me for my pug who sheds like crazy but hes a puppy so I always was concerned about that don't think I'd be a big fan I didn't like the pin brush either but mine was cheep. I HEARD so many good things about the zoom going to pick one up TO TAKLE ALL THIS FUR thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have used to have a Corgi myself, and I know how much they shed. I now have a Boxer German Shepherd Mix, and he sheds just as much. Thanks for "shedding" some light on this subject! :)
My opinion on the furminator has changed.I realized that the Furninator is so effective because it yanks basically any fur strands it comes in contact with. They even recommend not using it too often for extended periods...Trust me I have a husky. He's not exactly a fan. It's great for a quick 5 minute touch up but for shedding season where you may spend upwards of 30mins with your dog by brushing him? nope! Just my opinion
5:20 lol thanks for the honesty. Great vid and very helpful.
Thank you for the kind words! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you.
100% agree on the furminator and I have a corgi.
ZoomGroom for the win. 🙌🏻
We have found a greyhound comb to be the best grooming device for our corgi.
where can i find a longer toothed comb kinda shaped like a rake with curved teeth like a rake but stron enough for large dogs with long fur and some matts in there and some of my dogs have an under coat...furminator wont cut the mustard..
Thank you! Had an old furminator that our first corgi never liked, and neither does our current corgi. I will try both of the rubber brushes.
Let us know how it goes! 👍
Cooper the Happy Corgi the Hertzko is a winner. I can’t tell you how much money was spent trying to find the right brush. Thanks for your review!
Glad to hear you were able to find something that works for you and your corgi!
11:00 these brushes work FANTASTIC for cleaning greasy hands and under fingernails.
I work on cars for during the day and I swear by it
Cooper is so cute😂 but I still don’t know what’s best for maltese dog she’s 1 year old and she has this tangled hair that is so hard to fix it
#1000th like, but thanks for this my dog sheds so much and this is so helpful.
I looooovee this dogs😍😍😍😍
Which one you suggest for labrador grooming?
what kind of brush should I use on my pitbull a short haired dog
I have a rotty, and she hates slicker brushes, but she has no issues with the furminator, I think she likes it, when I stop she rolls and puts her head on me to continue lol
I have saint Bernard plz tell me which brush to use plzz.....
I have the metal fur brush and something called the sleekEZ. Maybe I wasn't using the zoom groom correctly. It was getting my corgis hair out 😩
Do you have a review on the King Komb?
Love the videos. Keep them coming!!
Thanks for watching!
I need comb recommendation for my Maltese :]
HA! I know the feels of just giving a simple pet and getting a whole handful of hair XD
😂
the furminator may not be reaching his skin to bother him however it will pull and break hair away due to the sharpness of the edge and the lack of space between blades makes it more likely to feel like a razor or tug any hairs that don’t separate between teeth
I need a good comb cause I bought a cheap one from target and used it on my dog and it actually made him bleed 😐😐 which made me really mad because it was sharp like the first comb
How do you know when to stop brushing him?
So which brush is the best for corgis? I'm deciding between Hertzko (the silicone one) or Kong..
We recommend both equally as they are both comfortable and effective. You can choose one or try out both, it is up to you. Chances are either one will be fine and enjoyable for your dog.
Thank you Cooper for sharing your experience. By the way, Lizzy has a crush on you. She loves watching you on CZcams. She thinks you are one handsome fella.
Zoom groom is great for short hared breeds
Lovely, do you have any reccomendation for a french poodle hair?
Sorry, we don’t have any experience with French Poodle hair so cannot confidently make a recommendation.
Go to: love of grooming/how to brush your poodle which brushes and combs to use
I have tried the silicon ones on multiple dogs ITS SO BAD it literally got like 1 strand of fur (and the dogs were shedding)
I guess the furminator is for dogs with heavy coats like German shepherds
Could be, but just didn’t work for us. Doesn’t mean it won’t work for everyone!
My Husky hates the Furminator. I don't think it is that good. Those rubber brushes wont do nothing on a husky though. I use Andis deshedder tool along with their comb and pin brush and finishing touch with a small leaf blower.
Corgis have thick double coats. They are a herding breed just like German shepherds. However, the Furminator destroys the undercoat and cuts off healthy hair which messes with the dogs temperature. That's why you shouldn't use it.
Do you think it would work well for a rough collie??
we ran into the same problem with metal pronged brushes. Would you recommend the zoom groom as a full brushing system? My corgi is shedding constantly and it be nice not to have her essentially be a dandelion 💗
You can use the furminator every 2 weeks if you are gentle, but it’s true, try it on yourself. Also, it’s awesome for getting dog hair out of chairs, sofas, etc so don’t throw it away if your already bought it!
I have a corgi myself. How often would you recommend using one of those rubber silicon brushes on her and for how long at a time?
It really depends on if your corgi enjoys the brushing sessions. If she likes it you can try once a week for as long as she allows you, but it would really depend on her tolerance for it. Good luck!
@@CoopertheHappyCorgiHD I use a horse curry its also silicone I brush him every day when he's shedding
15-30 mins every other day...maybe using another brush as well. I find that silicone is more gentle and doesn't tug the way a metal brush would.
I recommend the Furminator
I have an American kokerspaniel she is our first puppy. Well we bought furminatoe and after seeing this video i am scared to use it. I don't want to hurt her so can you plss tell me why yoy recommend furminator so i can calm down😅🥺
@@ninixmiadashvili7865 Cause she didn't realise how much it hurts. I hope she uses it on herself for atleast 15 mins 🤭😁
Zumi it's Ok for Pug?
My former boss had a Corgi, I would baby sit and I swear I could make a whole new Corgi with all of her shed. Unfortunately she recently passed away, she lived a long life and I have a bunch of good memories of babysitting her
What do u recommend for a short haired Pit/bulldog mix
Hard to say, but we suggest trying a silicone brush like the Kong Zoom first since it does a great job at grabbing loose fur/hair.
I have a pit and all I do is brush her with a soft bristle brush . At Walmart they have one that’s a short soft bristle on one side and a longer pin bristle on the other side. It works great for me since I have a german Shepherd too.
Lmao the beginning was so dumb... testing on bare skin or super thin hair🤦♂️
thank god im not the only one who thought this.
thank you for saying it lmao
Well, she had a point though.
@@annakonda6289 Not really. Think of it this way a dog who has a lot of fur and more than one coat of it. The dog's coat being super thick ect. Would not be similar to human skin. If you know how to brush your dog properly you'd be able to easily avoid damaging your dogs skin.
@@tesodra3863 The skin under the coat is very sensitive though.
Our skin is used to being pretty exposed to any kind of touching.
Getting a German shepherd in January don't know which one to get
I work at a grooming salon, and for a german Shepherd I would definitely recommend using the furminator shampoo and conditioner and when the dog is dry brush up with the long zoom groom. That what I always use with german shepherds.
I saw somewhere the soft pin style brushes are best for removing a knot but not for brushing the whole dog
Ok, thanks 😊
Cooper is so cute
What do you recommend for an American Bully? A brush that is
Thank you!
Since we don’t have any experience with an American Bully, we cannot confidently make a recommendation. But, you could start with the softer silicone brushes and see how your Bully likes it and if it is effective. Good luck!
Oddly my dog doesn’t wine when I use it and it works good
That’s good! We are big advocates of doing what works for you and your dog. Thanks for watching and commenting!
That is me & my corgi… I just vacuumed , went to bed, woke up to huge clumps … I couldn’t believe it
🤣😂🤣
back in the late 70's, I worked with horses and that second silicone used to be plastic....used it on horses...
Bruh ur not supposed to push down when using the ferminator...
my corgis name is cooper too haha
Coopers are the best! 👍
Bro you didnt even use the JW same way as the furminater 😂 scrape the JW same way as furminater seed what happens
The furminator is meant for short haired dogs like labradors and greyhounds
U crazy it causes more harm to short haired dogs duh
I’m convinced corgis just have an unlimited supply of fur. I can pull a pile off my dog daily that’s the same size as him. We’re never truly done. I just do it until he gets tired if it. It also doesn’t help that he rolls over and expects me to use it on his chest, opposed to his butt.
Hey
I just need a brush that takes off shedding
The strawberry is funny. My Corgi/Sheba Inu mix does not eat any fruits or veggies. Contrast that with my late Rat Terrier. The Rat ate anything.
Why do corgi's look like baby sea lions
brush your dog outside why have all that loose hair in the house . Furminator works great on my short hair dog I use the rubber one to loose the hair and the furminator to catch all the excess worked good
Love the video but I dont see the point in selling items you dont love x
Thanks for watching! And to clarify- we don’t sell items (we are not sellers), and not every item in the video is listed in Cooper’s Amazon store. You can check the store out for yourself!
Your dogs are a lot tougher than they let on
You have to be careful with any steel bristle brushes you can damage their skin by brushing too hard.
Yes, you are absolutely right! Thank you 💕
It hurts like hell lmao
im so confused..... obviously if you comb that hard it's gonna hurt, brush more gently then, it's to get the loose hair out nobody asked you to scratch ur corgi's skin off 🤔
Nobody said anything about scratching the dog’s skin off 😂 Brushing “gently” isn’t the solution. If you try using one of those metal brushes on your own head “gently”, you wouldn’t like it either. It’s harsh on any skin.
Hey dear, lovely video. I would like to do business with you. How can I get in contact with you. Preferably via email.. awaiting your response 🙂
Because furmınator made to take dead weak fur that s why it is sharp...Not for skin especially human skin
Good video but it could reallllyy do without the sound effects
Why do you keep saying “duh” instead of “the”
I think the video is so long and drawn out, just state the item, compare and move. Lost interest long ago.
Thanks for watching anyway
@@CoopertheHappyCorgiHD the video was great! Some people are just impatient, you had great info and helped a lot! Thank you!
Is it just me or does cooper not look so happy after all😑 always laying down and using puppy eyes😬🥺
He’s happy 😃 he’s just relaxing in this video. Getting his fur brushed is calming for him.
oh ! so pet groomers does not use proper tools all this time? hahaha
Bro this video is so weird
Bro, weird isn’t necessarily a bad thing
then why did u feel the need to respond
Brushing your hairless body is not at all comparable to a dog with a double coat of fur!!
Yep...furminator is horrible
