    The furminator is not supposed to touch the animal's skin. Only fur. They have it in the instructions that come with the tool.

    • @CoopertheHappyCorgiHD
      @CoopertheHappyCorgiHD  Před 4 lety +13

      It’s impossible to avoid touching the animal’s skin when brushing his/her fur. It would deem the tool even more ineffective. Thanks anyway.

      Cooper the Happy Corgi don’t know if you will see this but for cooper touching avoiding touching his skin is really hard but I think the furminator is manly for dogs who’s fur is real thicc like a husky.
      a lot of people are saying that testing a brush on human skin is stupid but in Coopers case that’s a good test. So while people say your ways of testing a brush is wrong I think that your the one who’s right and the furminator just isn’t for you and your dog. People shouldn’t complain about about what you said cause In the end your still right cause it’s your OPINION not a fact. So I say keep not using the furminator on cooper cause it’s not meant for him and keep making these good vids. Sorry for ranting about stupid topic just wanted my opinion out there somewhere

    • @CoopertheHappyCorgiHD
      @CoopertheHappyCorgiHD  Před 3 lety +1

      Do what makes the most sense for you and your dog. For us, we don’t like the furminator because it tends to scrape off and damage the outer coat, and Cooper also doesn’t like it. Thickness of dog skin also doesn’t equate to lack of sensitivity- that’s often the misconception around dog skin. Again, every dog is different and we encourage people to consider different perspectives and most especially, to take their dog’s comfort into account.

      Corgis have thick double coats. They are a herding breed just like German shepherds. However, the Furminator destroys the undercoat and cuts off healthy hair which messes with the dogs temperature. That's why you shouldn't use it.

    I’m convinced corgis just have an unlimited supply of fur. I can pull a pile off my dog daily that’s the same size as him. We’re never truly done. I just do it until he gets tired if it. It also doesn’t help that he rolls over and expects me to use it on his chest, opposed to his butt.

    The strawberry is funny. My Corgi/Sheba Inu mix does not eat any fruits or veggies. Contrast that with my late Rat Terrier. The Rat ate anything.

    brush your dog outside why have all that loose hair in the house . Furminator works great on my short hair dog I use the rubber one to loose the hair and the furminator to catch all the excess worked good

    You have to be careful with any steel bristle brushes you can damage their skin by brushing too hard.

    im so confused..... obviously if you comb that hard it's gonna hurt, brush more gently then, it's to get the loose hair out nobody asked you to scratch ur corgi's skin off 🤔

    • @CoopertheHappyCorgiHD
      @CoopertheHappyCorgiHD  Před 4 lety +1

      Nobody said anything about scratching the dog’s skin off 😂 Brushing “gently” isn’t the solution. If you try using one of those metal brushes on your own head “gently”, you wouldn’t like it either. It’s harsh on any skin.
