- Great finale. Enjoyed the Obi-Wan series a lot. It wasn't perfect, but few things are. Did think it was much more enjoyable than Boba Fett series overall. The moment Kenobi tells Leia about Padme and Anakin, it gets me every time.
Yup. Even when editing this started to get choked up 🥲
Obi-Wan leaves Vader to almost die a second time. You can tell at the end of that fight, Vader screaming "OBI-WAN!" translating to "DON'T LEAVE ME AGAIN!". Which further fuels his hatred and despair. Truly a heartbreaking scene.
Yup 😢
The actress who plays Aunt Beru wasn't given any dialogue that I can remember in Episode 2 or 3, then they bring her back 20 years later and she steals the show for the one episode that she's in. We need a second season just to get more of her, because she's a badass.
It makes you wonder how many stormtroopers they took down in A New Hope before they were killed.
Agreed! Stole the scenes she was in 😀
I saw someone point out once that during Obi-Wan and Vaders fight…. Obi-Wan took the left side of Vader’s helmet off.
During Ashoka and Vaders fight….. Ashoka took the right side of Vader’s helmet off.
But it was only during Luke and Vader’s fight….
That Luke was able to take Vader’s entire helmet off.
Not with a lightsaber, but with gentle hands.
Only the son was able to bring his Father back into the light.
Holy fuck I never saw that until now
Wow! Very well said and pointed out 🤯
"It`s like poetry. They rhymes." - G.Lukas
I remember everyone giving Hayden crap for his acting when Episode 3 came out, but go figure when he isn't bogged down by horrible dialogue and allowed to act to his full potential he does a spectacular job.
The saddest part for me was when Vader said You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker...I did. That look on Obi Wan's face was really sad😔 like my brother my friend is truly gone. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are such an Amazing actor's.
Yeah Ewan MCCregor nailed that scene and it was very powerful 😢
I met Ian McDiarmid (Palpatine) and Bonnie Piesse (Beru) at Washington State Summer con which was the weekend before the series finale of Kenobi.
I have a huge amount of respect for them because everyone was badgering them with a lot of questions. The most frequently asked being, "Are your characters going to appear in this finale??"
We know Aunt Beru has a role in this series but of course, Ian and Bonnie both were so kind, patient, and respectful. All they could tell us was, "Wait and see."
I respect them so much for not spoiling the finale at all. And it was a genuine pleasure to hear them share stories about their experiences. Especially since a few weeks earlier, they were with Hayden and Ewan at Star Wars Celebration.
Yeah it must be tough doing any kind of public engagements and not giving away spoilers. Just ask Tom Holland 😂
When Vader says **"I am not your failure"** , his face is covered in blue light as if Anakin Is accepting the apology from Obi wan . Then his face turns red , when Vader returns with darkness . This was so symbolising in a way that even though He's Darth Vader there's is still some Anakin left in him only those who really know him can take out .(Another instance Ashoka ) and Finally Master Qwai Gon for 5secs after two and a half decades
Overally what a great short series which greatly connects the events , also keeping the characters comically accurate . I will be not mad or sad if we don't get a season 2 .
Yeah it was very well done and they nailed the Vader and Obi-Wan scenes in this every time 🤩🥲
The Darth Vader comics are pretty much exactly what you say you want, the story of Vaders rise to power, along with all of his inner conflict, they really make you understand him on a whole new level (they also make you really root for him, even though you know he's the villain, which is fantastic), I would definitely recommend that any star was fan gives them a read, even if comics aren't normally for you. Honestly the star wars comics as a whole have been absolutely fantastic these last few years.
Thanks for letting us know about them
😀
I also cried when I saw Obi-wan say he's sorry to anakin, it's such an emotional moment that hits really hard! And that part where Anakin screams Obi-wan's name and it's a mix of his voice and the Vader voice is just chilling! I don't quite think Reeva was expecting a thank you for bringing Luke back lol but I really love what they did for her character in this show! Looking back knowing her backstory, everything makes sense as to why she did what she did and why she acted the way she did. She was so hellbent on getting closer to Vader that it warped her into him. But ultimately she wasn't him and couldn't be like him. The fact that she didn't kill Luke and actually struggled with herself shows to me that there is redemption for her. Honestly I don't even think she could of gone through with torturing Leia.
I also thought it was funny how Vader was saying he's gonna burn every planet down until he finds Obi-wan and the emperor's response was, "You seem agitated." 🤣
Haha hadn’t thought about that with emperors response 😂 And while we didn’t love Reevas storyline, they did a good job at least justifying her behavior and journey. Trying to show maybe an alternate path Anakin could’ve taken I guess 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Probably, I also think it was showing both their current paths. Reeva was driven by revenge like Vader was against obi-wan. Reeva almost let it turn her into a monster while Vader steeped himself further into the dark side. I've seen people say how that last part where he says obi-wan means nothing is where Vader fully sheds Anakin. Because Anakin has an emotional connection to obi-wan and anakin should be no more. Which would explain him in a new hope where he's more calm and collected.
Padmés last words
"Obi-Wan... there... is good in him. I know there is... still..."
Anakin's last words
"You were right"
"Padmé, our son came and saved me."
Anakin's last thought of Padmé before dying.
😢
Not sure if you guys noticed that when Anakin is telling Obi Wan that he’s not his failure and kind of letting him know wasn’t his fault you can see the blue light of the saber and as soon the hate come back the light turns red on his face, that was a great touch!
Idk I feel as though a tiny bit of Anakin wanted obi wan to know it wasn't his fault but at the same time I feel as though Vader's gloating that yeh you manged to defeat Anakin on mustafar but only I killed him. It's known Vader likes to emotionally drain his opponents, and as soon as he says he killed Anakin you can see Vader actually grin behind the mask.
Yeah we noticed the shift and loved that moment when the red overtook him 😁🤩
He also has the yellow sith eye when the light changes to red
This series made it count when it really needed to. The in-betweens and B plots may not have been totally winners, but the parts that really needed to be good were really good.
That’s how we felt. It enriched characters we were already familiar with and cared about 😀🤩
HE SAID IT HE SAID THE THING I WAS JUMPING IN MY BED WHEN I HEARD IT FIR THE FIRST TIME
Anakin Skywalker: Jedi Knight, Sith Lord, world-class sore loser.
Joking aside, Ewan McGregor is really on point with his voice breaking as he's apologizing
😂 world class sore loser 👏

Kenobi Clips: *Hello There!*
😜🥳
You know, I thought Hayden did a really good job reprising his role. I like what he did in the suit as Vader, but also what he did through the broken helmet. His acting was so good. That sinister smile behind the mask, as he reveals to Obi-Wan that he killed Anakin was great. It was a self-serving line, but also a gift to Obi-Wan. Anakin had to own what he had done. He gave up his family, friends, the Jedi and the life he had for more power and all he got in return was a broken body and prison of a life-support system that he cannot live without. If he kept blaming Obi-Wan for what had happened to him, he'd have to admit to himself that he had made a mistake and that he was wrong, but if he owned it, he'd be empowering himself, freeing himself from his past. I'm not sure that he truly believed that when he said what he said to Obi-Wan as he was telling the Emperor how he was going to continue to hunt Obi-Wan down soon after on Mustafar. Oddly, enough, the Palpatine gives him a gift vailed in a threat urging him to let his past go and finally be the person he said he was, Darth Vader.
The scene ended so well, for me, as it was truly the birth of Darth Vader, and I think that that's why they saved the Imperial March until this moment. Once Darth Vader truly shed himself of Anakin his past, his weakness, did he truly become the ruthless Dark Lord of the Sith all heard about in the OT and saw in Rogue One.
Both Darth Vader and Obi-Wan were shackled to their pasts and that's what kept them both from being the people they were both meant to be.
I wouldn't mind a second season...so long as Obi-Wan and Darth Vader never cross paths again, but I think it's best to leave this series as it is now. If we must see them again, why not have the cameo in other stories? A second season of Obi-Wan will only make viewers anticipate another epic showdown, which cannot happen, shouldn't happen! This fight should be the last fight until ANH.
If however, a second season focused on Darth Maul, however, I'd be down for that!
We’d be down for a Darth Maul series as well. Or just a Vader series. 😈
Abso-fraking-lutely loved and truly, Truly enjoyed watching your reactions to Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi to the very end!!!!!
Glad to hear it! 😀😊🤗🥰
I love that you don’t get the Imperial March until the very end. For all that he has become, Vader is still doing his own thing and blinkered by his hatred for Kenobi that it isn’t until Palpatine brings him to heel that we get that theme. Fitting really - it isn’t much of an “Imperial” March unless you are dancing to the Emperor’s tune
Well said at the end there 🙂
I thought the fight seen between Obi-Wan and Vader was awesome what did you think and there maybe a second season
Obi-Wan Kenobi was conceived as a limited series, with Chow describing it as "one big story with a beginning, middle, and end". Despite this, Kennedy said there was a chance that more of the series could be made due to the enjoyable time the cast and crew had creating it, as long as there was a compelling story reason to return to the character, with both McGregor and Christensen expressing interest in making another season
We would love to see more Obi Wan and Darth Vader development. But it also feels like this is the last time they see each other until a new hope 😢
Such a great reaction as always.
I've seen Fight Choreographers compare the two Vader vs Kenobi fights - they are plot dialogue without words. Even little things like This fight being the first time all season we see Kenobi actually use his signature styles.
The other things I love in this series is a lot of the touching on gaps in the movies. Lucas gave us Leia remembering Padme, but also Padme dying in birth... Kenobi gives us Leia meeting Padme through Kenobi's words.
Pure fan service too: The toy T16 Kenobi gives Luke - when we first meet Luke in A New Hope, it's this exact toy Luke is holding.
Wanna know more about the Inquisitors watch rebels there you will get more action with them.
Thanks! We are watching Clone Wars for first time currently 🙂
Thanks, Ken! Thanks, Bethany! 🥔🥔 If you want to learn more about the fate of the 'Grand Inquisitor' be sure to watch Season 1 of STAR WARS: REBELS. #StarWars #ObiWanKenobi #DisneyPlus
Thanks! We are currently going through Clone Wars 😅
Don't miss THE BAD BATCH, REBELS and RESISTANCE!
OBI-WAN!!!!!
I was waiting for the: it's over anakin, i have the high ground
Feels like they put that shot in there on purpose with Darth Vader looking down from the high ground 😂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 hahaha
interesting note, the outfit leia wears in the last scene is a callback to both her new hope dress and her endor outfit.
Love it 😍
Yet again Anakin loses to his emotions, even though Anakin is stronger than Kenobi in every aspect he is still a human with emotions that overcomes him whenever he faces his past, even Palpatine admits that past weakens him
What makes him so strong in force and darkside is also his biggest “weakness” 😢
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Wise. Forgiving. Noble. Brave, and the baddest Jedi of all time...(He's whipped Vader twice, Greviuos and Darth Maul twice). . (Note how Darth Sidiuos told Vader to let it go..He KNEW Vader was lucky Kenobi did'nt kill him, and if He went after him again, he probably would be) Loved your reactions!!
Glad you enjoyed it! And Obi-Wan is indeed a total badass 😎🤟
Fun fact. Lola was named after Carrie Fishers pet bird.
Nice! 😀
Palpatine used intricate designs and detailing on the hilts of his lightsabers to show off his vast wealth and mock the Jedi Order for not being able to sense him in the Force. Despite believing that lightsaber combat was weak compared to the dark side of the Force, Palpatine knew that one day he would have to use it, and wanted to embarrass the Jedi.
Not sure if you noticed, but as soon as Obi-Wan said, "Princess Leia Organa", Leia's theme began to play.
Great attention to detail 😊
This scene just makes you forget this is a story about soldiers shooting laser guns and people using their minds to control things.
Yup 😊
„You didn‘t kill Anakin Skywalker I did“ 😭😭😭😭
😢😢😢
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 and then he smirks 😭😭😭
Actually I don’t think it was so much about a child’s choice, for Leia exclaiming and running after Lola, but to in fact to act wisely, giving Obi-Wan and her parents the space for them to meet and her parents to thank him, she knew after Obi-Wan would greet her parents, then it would be her turn; I actually saw it as one of those signs of maturity and lore she has.
That’s a good way of looking at it too 🙂
Do you both want a season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi ?
7:34 It's over Anakin! I have made the ground high!!
😂
Obi-Wan…..
OBI-WAAAAN!!!!!!
😢
It's the other M place where a dark lord has his tower😂
😜😁
It was kinda neat Obi Won hmmm Wan. Walked away from Anakin as killing is not the Jedi way.
Which Wader reminded Ashoka when she crashed the mask, that it is not the Jedi way to kill.
It only leads to the dark side
There is a rumor of a Darth Vader tv series Is in the making.
We hope it’s true 😀🥳
The director of "Kenobi" has a Chinese father and a White mother.
Great ending 👏 thanks for the journey.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Hermosa reacción!! Gracias chicos, saludos desde Venezuela
🤗 🇻🇪 🥳😀
thank you for reacting to obi-wan 🙂❤
Our pleasure 🙂
The one chinless king i know who doesn't act like women require submission in order to be equitable
Palp you seem agitated my friend cuz I am I just got my ass beat by the same guy TWICE
😂
If you are looking for a new series to watch or react to, i can only recommend Avatar: The Last Airbender. This masterpiece is from 2008, but ist fanbase only grew since then. It is a timeless work of art with so much emotion and character developement, i am quite sure you will shed a tear or two ;)
And great reaction as always, Disney did a good job with Kenobi
are you crazy?!? vader is at your mercy! kill him!! thats clearly not anakin...put him out of his misery and save alderaan and however many others vader would go on to kill! thats what i was thinking but we all knew that couldnt happen. it was an epic fight anyway...one of the best ones. very best version of darth vader theyve ever done! nice reaction...subscribed!
All the stuff with Vader and Obi Wan was so great to see. And other than obvious plot limitations, felt like Obi Wan couldn’t kill Vader because it would make him same as Vader or maybe set him down that path. After all, Emperor and Vader wanted Luke to kill him out of anger as well. 😢
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 yeah but i wonder how many times it crossed his mind later. maybe we'll see!
cant wait for the reaction for the newest helluva boss season
Reação épica demais melhor canal do CZcams 😀👍
Feel like there is a logic trap with this show. Like Vader can't kill Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan can't kill Vader because they are alive in episode 4 so duels don't make sense to me. Like Obi-Wan letting Vader live makes no sense here beyond Obi-Wan being an absolute failure. If he accepts Anakin is dead and buried and Vader is just a monster, then he should have just killed him there. The first time makes sense, that's his student, he's emotional, the guy is burning to death. But now he doesn't do it because guilt? The man is already a child killer. Everyone that Vader kills for now on is on his head. It just makes Obi-Wan look dumb in my opinion.
It's the same the other way around. Vader beats Obi-Wan and doesn't kill him because he wants a better fight? Well, that kind of messes up episode 4. He's trash talking at the start doesn't make as much sense anymore and Obi-Wan quiets halfway through that fight anyways. Neither scenario really works for me and just brings attention that neither can do the other in for plot reasons.
I feel like that's a conflict you have to always make inconclusive if you're doing a prequal. Like Vader wanting to fight but Obi-Wan just doesn't have time for him at the moment so he's constantly running. Or Vader wants to hunt him down but Empire stuff gets in the way. That's harder to write but I think that would of worked out much better.
Glad you both enjoyed it, I personally dintthat scene with obi won and darth Vader was good though at least.
As for reva no offense to the actress but she needed a better role especially since trillas character is basically revas story but done infinitely better. That and how it all went down just made the movie even more nonsensical imo
Trilla indeed was a much better character. They didn’t need reva in this at all. Could’ve made it four episodes or 6 shorter episodes and cut her character out 🤔.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 agreed
Day 6 of asking for RWBY volume 1 RWBY, I'm really wondering what character in the RWBY series you like most at the current moment, mine is Yang and Jaune!
Yang for both of us 🤗 though Pyrhha is pretty damn cool 😀
can you react to the dc showcase death part 1 2 3 4 its realy good I recommend you guys its good stuff :D ahhahah
Idk, I really wanted to love this show...unfortunately it was just hard to stay engaged when characters do really dumb things, ESPECIALLY EP 4. personally the only parts I loved were the scenes with Anakin and obi-wan. Glad you guys enjoyed it tho.
That’s fair enough. They could’ve done away with third sister story line completely in this and just had anakin and obi wan and had the grand inquisitor be the one that tracks Obi Wan down 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 or better, actually make the 3rd sister likeable. Like she starts off mean and content but when by herself she's heartbroken of what she's become in her path of vengeance. Then ultimately ending in her demise as her vengeance consumed her. Unfortunately, the director had plans for the show to be a LOT darker and intense but it was rejected by the higher ups and this is what we got...
За я болею Вейдер.
The only complaint I have about the episode is that Obi-Wan just leaves Anakin.. He finally realises that his friend is truly dead and will never stop hunting the ones he's protecting.. there is no reason why he would not try to put a final stop to Vader.. If I had written it I would have Obi-Wan going to attack Vader one final time and then the grand inquisitor coming to the rescue.. I mean, they have the inquisitor and a star destroyer on hand, why not use it in the story.
I think everyone to an extent felt this way, but I think we have to really
Keep in mind that this is not just obiwan fighting a sith, it’s against his brother. The closest person he’s really ever had other than Qui-gon. In fact I see obiwan more as a father figure than a brother. He can’t be that person. And he’s a true OG Jedi, he doesn’t kill for killing. I think it was just way too emotional and deep for him to take that final step to kill him. Especially when he was broken.
I ALSO wanted to add that a few people have speculated that this was Vader’s cry for help, In a sense that he truly wanted Obiwan to kill him. He wanted all his pain to be gone. That’s why he was so vicious in front of Obiwan this season, killing random street people, showing all his power, the full throttle pursuit. Vader wanted to die, and Obiwan isn’t a murderer.
The films regularly insinuated the corruptive nature of straight up killing someone, and it not being the Jedi way, but so many people question why Obi-Wan wouldn't try to finish Vader despite the fight being over...
@@THEFuentes97 this really kinda fits with Vader in this point in the timeline, I mean, the mans power comes from hate, but its his hate for himself more than anything.
@@DCliff2106 for real, in the sequels, up until his scene with Luke in the End, there was little conflict in Vader. He was the full power of the empire and seemed secure in his position. But in this show, all his wounds are still fresh as far as order 66, his broken relationship with his former master, and the conflict seemed to be really high
