Now, this sounds like south Texas to me. "We'll Take Our Last Walk Tonight" leans into that Sir Douglas Quintet sound that ruled the land around Houston in the late 1960s. Could that be because Doug Sahm wrote it? That might have something to do with it, ya' think? Lankford's vocals are equally at home here as they are on the a-side, even if they're two completely different approaches. If you haven't listened to "What's a Matter Baby" yet, be sure to hear that cut, too. Both of these tracks are understandably in popular demand today. They're both awesome!
