Hey, I was wondering if there was a way of contacting you about an album i found, do you have a discord?
@@TheLemonMasterYT Hey, thanks for the message, always keen to hear new old music :) I don't have discord, but you can email me at should.be.drifting@gmail.com or message me on twitter @ghost_gums
@@should_be_asleep thanks!
i messaged on twitter
This is amazing! Are the other 4 albums anywhere? I will search slseek later but I’ll save my efforts if it is likely futile.
There are few ways to make me click quicker than a Japanese water themed synth album

...Literally.
you truly do understand, don't you
Back in the '80s and '90s, Japanese synth artists decided to invent CZcamsRecommendationCore.
YT/RC for life
This is the best comment ever
This went on to inspire the creation of the video platform known as CZcams. Incredible stuff.
Haha I love that
@@keegankonsor2182 i second this

LMAOO why is this so funny
Listening from Hong Kong, watching the ships sail through the Harbour from my flat. I feel a strange sense of serenity I haven't felt in a long time.
Long may the feeling last, friend.
Down with the CCP 👎
Great view, I take it. Can you see the "Star" Ferries too? I had a great view yesterday, at Machu Picchu⛰, but I guess it's difficult to compare. For instance, I had no window...🤔
/J, Suécia (Cusco, Peru)🌎
I am from Hong Kong too !
loved that completely visualized it an it made me smile
Text on the cover:
Still glides the stream,
slow drops the boat,
Under the rustling poplars' shade;
Silent the swans beside us float
None speaks, none heeds;
Ah, turn thy head!
Let those arch eyes now softly shine,
That mocking mouth grow sweetly bland,
Ah, let them rest,
those eyes, on mine!
On mine let rest thy lovely hand!
From "Faded Leaves", a poem by Matthew Arnold.
One of the best poems in my opinion I've ever read...
my grandmother in Atlantis recommended this
Me too, but from a bridge over troubled water...🙄
Mesmerizing soundtrack. Perhaps most of people wouldn't decorate their Christmas trees while listening to this music, but it is just what I'm doing right now and it helps to create a soft atmosphere, specially because today it has snowed, and some of this album tracks lend the impression of drops of water or snowflakes falling down, falling and falling and falling...
I absolutely agree
100% true
What an album ! A year ago and still enjoying it.
Wish I could meet people who like this kind of music
Hugs from Cameroon 💛💛💛
This has a kind of "magical" sound, like I could imagine it as the background music for some theme park attraction where you walk around looking at wondrous things.
Or some kind of indie RPG. heck, any kind of game could severly benefit from this
@@PatheticTV Oh hey, did you not play Ocarina of Time? Check out Zora's Domain music - '96, three years after this album came out. It think they hired Toshiya after hearing this! :D
@@ellenlapel6451 Koji Kondo was the composer for Ocarina of Time.
This is good to listen to after a bad job interview 😭
bad job interviews can be so humiliating and damaging to your self-esteem :'(
remember that they're often very bad at evaluating how good you are
and your value as a person has nothing to do with the value you offer a company, anyway
companies want you to feel bad so you feel like you need to make yourself fit their standards
Solidarity, pal. Your worth isn't defined by your labor. It won't always be this bad.
Work for yourself.
all of these nice replies 🥺
this is like being at a circus underwater
its already nighttime here in germany. As i listen to your upload, my thoughts start drifting away in a smooth wave of sound. I looked outside my window and big snowflakes were falling from the dark sky. illuminated in the streetlaps soft and warm light.
This is the most magical music I had ever heard, thank u so much for this. I can't imagine my life without this music anymore.
Saludos desde México, 🇲🇽.
it's a joke?

I had the same feeling when i first heard "Three drops"
My favourite ambient albums are this one (Aqua), Yoshimura's Wet Land and Isoda's "With Wave"...
So now I think my element is water! :)
Very relaxing for now just forget all your problems and enjoy this music you have good taste in music and deserve to relax for once enjoy :)
This gets me to breathe and defuse my anger better than almost anything else. Thank you.
listening to this serene music from seoul at the end of August. it is gonna pour out but feeling so relaxed and calm b/c of this. thanks for the upload.
Who knew my birth year was THE year for ambient music.
River is pure bliss
It inspired me to compose a haiku:
The stream is cold
I sat on a patch of moss

thank you so much sba. listening from california. still thinking about the fires, longing for rain. the sounds you upload have often helped me give form to these different feelings. keep it up!
Yet another wonderful upload, thank you so much should be asleep. I am doing not so well right now, but your music helps me find calm and more balance. You truly make an impact on people.
So we meet again japanese ambient youtube algorithm
Why is this so meditative and ethereal
02:26 that sound.... wow
It’s a famous sound sample called “Lore” that’s all over Korg workstation patches starting in the late 80’s. It’s usually layered in with other sounds.
@@DannyKavka A classic. Beautiful.
The Best Channel in the Universe !!! Is it a coincidence that the Best Period in My Life 1988 - 1994 (my raw childhood) is the same period the BEST Music ever came out ????.....
I swear man, this channel.... ♥️
It's always a great day when you upload.
seriously good... that was some good 1 hour healing while working. thanks!
makes me think of that album which was produced by an aloe vera plant
Aloe Extract Sound (アロエ その不思議なサウンド)

Wonderful music to work on complex IT and software development. Thanks, it helps making the lockdown a peaceful retreat.
This is like if Angelo Badalamenti wrote Dragon Quest music
so warm synths like a kiss of mother
Thank you so much x
It's hard to have a favourite but "Sea" fills me with a warm glow.
Music like this reminds me of dreams I had forgotten
28:21 Sea
All the layers are blended together really well. A lot of production from this era sounds dated but this sounds as great as ever.
Otherworldly. Wonderful
This definitely has some mario galaxy vibes to it! Great album!
Magical sounds . . .
That's an absolute masterpiece...

Excellent.
This is beautiful but i feel like I’ve heard this before. I played a game called klonoa back in 2000-2001 and this music reminds me a lot of that game, beautiful album. thank you
you see a lot of influence on videogame music from ambient music
@@minamur yeah, this is true. I know of a guy named Masahiro Andoh who wrote the music for a game called Arc The Lad I, II, III and Gran Turismo and he's part of a band called T-Square. There's a lot of similarity in some of the music there too.
@@minamur Yeah they say that Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Vol.2 was the inspiration behind the Silent Hill soundstacks.
@@EthanMoran1999 that's really interesting, I am a big fan of both Aphex Twin and the Silent Hill soundtracks! I'll have to re-listen to SAW 2

Ok, that's the name of the channel...so why are you saying it here? Lazy comment maybe?
hahah, I think the very opening of this album and first song is a reference to westminster chimes
Amazing! Thank you! I believe I hear a Korg M1 in there? Still have my M1. :)
Korg M1/Roland D50/Yamaha Dx7/Akai S950/1000
At the end I hear some PPG (Waldorf Microwave) like bells or maybe from the Ensoniq Esq. Last strings sound very Kurzweil K1200.
@@TheMerlinia Nice! Thank you for the info. :)
Yep. Thats the awesome Lore patch there at the beginning.
I've always wanted to hear bioçic music, and now I have. Still, I don't know what it means, since there's no such word...🤔

So why can't you just find these musicians on Spotify or Apple music? it's so annoying Imagine if this was properly preserved and distributed, it would give these pieces an endless lifespan
I agree. Music like this is the reason I don't use Spotify, cus none of these gems are on there
