Lemeshev and Kozlovsky are two of the greatests of all time. They should be known wider, by everyone who loves opera and voices.
Everything this man sings simply sets a different standard for every other singer. If there is such a thing as perfection in art I think we are hearing it here.
With Lemeshev you have a singer that have solved all technical problems.
He can concentrate on interpretation and his art is completely outstanding in its beauty and sincerity.
A marvellous post.
Grandissimo tenore e voce unica!!!
such a convincing voice, each note is crystal clear and poetic, full of passion and magic touches, connects with heart and soul, always love to tune in, Bravo!!!
Forever and Ever.... Lemeshev❤
Unbelievable beautiful...especially "Du bist die Ruh". What a treasure these recordings are....!!
Unbelievable, Lemeshev was a wonderful singer with a marvellous interpretation of these Schubert-Leieder.
What a voice !
So wonderful, so melodious, naturally...as only a Schubert can do...Thank You!....
Exquisite phrasing, and a truly poetic temperament: sensitivity, vision, pathos, drama, something held in reticent reserve....
Always a brilliant tenor singing songs of great beauty so suited to his sensitive interpretation he embraces schubert as a brother every fragrance of the voice soft and strong delivers this art song. An Die Musik is oxygen to every great singer his interpretation delivers his soul I do adore his voice here.
Exceptional delicacy!
German and Russian genius coming together, beautiful.
Wonderful singing of Shuberts best song
Oh my god, i cried a bit. I already loved this man but it just got that more serious
2020.09..... the perfect sound , ...in Covid 19 pandemian time is true medicin! SpassiBa, Petrof! Your name is my piano,s name, ,,Petrof,,. 🎶🍂🎶
sehr schön
Thank you so very much Petrof, Lemeshev, Lisitsian, Ots! Russia ( and, of course, Estonia!) have been favoured by God himself it seems. The mastery of technique by these men, the control of legato ( Lisitsian!!!) breathtaking.
2. "An Die Musik" - "К музыке" (4:06) - голос, как драгоценный перламутр.
6. "Du bist die Ruh" - "Ты мой покой" (13:15): чувство поющего не может долго таиться в его душе - чувство вырывается из его души, почти выкрикивается. Как Сергей Лемешев все понимал!
Божественный голос!!!!!🌷🌷🌹🌹🌹🌹
My deep appreciation for sharing, with all of us, such an exclusive inheritance. As a native Russian speaker, I can enjoy the beautiful lyrics as well. Thank you very much!

Where will you find a better interpretation? Tremendously accomplished, beautiful tenor.
Thank you for this very beautiful post, Igor!!
"К музыке" звучит у Сергея Яковлевича, как исповедь.
Вы его конечно помните и любите. А для меня в моей далёкой юности Лемешев был кумиром
Superb! TY for sharing.
It may be your favorite, (not mine), but there's no such thing as a "best"
Schubert song; most of them ate magnificent.
D. Lerner is amazing as well.

@AriaLenskovo Thank you so much for giving a part of translation. Those recordings was offered to me, they come from Russia
It's kind of funny hearing these sung in a heavily Romantic style (oh, and in Russian) but he was so fantastic that I can brush that all aside. A note regarding the description, though: the 7th song is not Rätsel by Schumann, but rather Geheimes, D. 719 by Schubert.
So beautiful, also in Russian. Thank you, Petrof!
No. 7 is not written by Schubert, but by Robert Schumann.

@petrof4056 @petrof4056 Some of the German titles
1) Ständchen
2) An die Musik
3) Der Leiermann
6) Du bist die Ruh
8) Auf dem Wasser zu singen
9) Das Wandern
Where can we watch it? with subtitles?
It was not the will of Lemeshev, it hadn't the choice. But all is question of style for singing lieders and Lemeshev has the style, whatever the language
@petrof4056 It is best to have all the titles in German. No. 7 is "Rätsel" (from "Myrthen", No.25)
not only this song
Luscious, like an aged single malt whisky. Too bad that he doesn't do the poignant little variant Schubert wrote into the last section of Du bist die Ruh : "Dies Augenzelt von deinem (different note than previously on this phrase) Glanz"... Probably Sergei was dutifully following an editorial "correction" by a well-intentioned Russian editor. No. 7 is actually the exquisite Geheimes by Schubert (poem by Goethe). 9 is the first song from the cycle Die Schoene Muellerin. "Das Wandern" really means what we would call hiking or trekking in the U.S. Title of 10 means Goldsmith's Fellow (Assistant/Apprentice).
you cant compare a german lied when its sung in another language, to pronounce german for most singers is just unbelievable difficult, thats why he sung it in russian ofc.
Bostridge, ascolta!
what schuber invent jazz piano. check out my tencho soon late buckethead metal rock
Intonation sometimes is not perfect....
It is nice but actually no match to Fritz Wunderlich. And he alters the natural position and thereby the sound of the 'a' and 'u' vowel especially in the high register and passagio. He lets them slide into the back of the throat. As a result they sound strained and darker than necessary. Something you will not hear with Kozlovsky. Free, unforced flow of tone from low to high.
