I used this photo collage app that I already had on my phone. That app has an option where I can place pics on different backgrounds. So I took a screenshot of the pic I wanted to use and placed it in the photo collage app. I then lifted and drug the subject and placed it on the pic I placed in the collage app. Just make sure you have a solid background that isn’t black or white, otherwise the subject you lift with have white lines surrounding it. If you’re wanting to place it on a black/white background, place what you lifted on a diff color background first, then change the background color within pic collage app. Wish there was a way for me to show how I do it because I’m horrible at explaining things at times

Is it only applicable on ios 16? cuz currently I updated mine into ios 16.5 and it doesnt work at all. Maybe u can give me some advice? btw im using iphone X
It does work on all the new versions of iOS including iOS 17. Same steps just be careful of cluttered photos. If there is to much around or touching the subject it is hard for it to grab. Also make sure to open the photo, tap on it once to see the black borders appear then tap and drag. It’s tedious at times but works.

The one I have is retouch but I got it when it was a flat fee for life. It’s now monthly or yearly membership. It’s good but I don’t think it’s best. I suggest testing out a few that have free trials and then decide what you like best.

At video footage 1:14 after you got the image to move under your finger tip, there is a bar with “Copy” etc written in it. When I do this I don’t get that bar with “copy” etc. What do I need to do to fix that?
I’m still not happy with the iOS options and choices.. in androids you can do much more interesting things with your gallery photos. For example you can erase some props from a photo or you can paste another photo on the existing photo.. But in iPhone you can’t do either! Only if you pay subscription into an app from Apple Store
Yep that’s part of the game probably. Apple could easily do this and maybe will in the future but in the end they get a cut from app purchases so leaving little things out for others to sell is one way to make a buck. I don’t see why they wouldn’t have things like this by now.

Not with this option but once it’s white, you could potentially use another app that has paint or draw features to fill it in. You would just have to search the App Store.
Very cool feature. BUT it did not work with LIve turned on. Must be off before it would find the subject. I also found problems with panoramic and possibly other features. A normal picture works just fine. I was hoping to drop the captured image into another picture but I could not make it work, yet. FYI - IOS 16.0.3 on 14 Pro.
It works with live it's just hard to get it to grab the subject. I think the issue isn't with the specifice type of photo like pano or other options but more of what is in the photo. If it's too populated it seems to have trouble.
I tap on the photo and get the outline flash. then i tap copy. When i go to message app and hit paste- the image has the head cut off. I've tried this with several size images and always get just the middle section of the image. THEN, even worse, I can't get this ridiculous image to delete from the message. Hoe you can help. have iPhone 13 with 16.2 . Thanks!
The best option if you are having this issue is to just drag it over to an album and see if it cuts it out correctly before you send it in a message. If there is too much going on on the screen the cutout has trouble.

If you update to iOS 16 as far as I can tell from what I read online it is supposed to work. I can't find if there are any iPhones that this feature doesn't work with.
You can try to find an app in the app store that can do this. I know a lot of eBay resellers use these types of apps and were using them before this came out for the iPhone.

For EBay will the background show black? In the sample shown it was black. Or will it show up white?

I just found a solution, you can upload the photo on canva from your phone and later download it from there to your PC and the background won't show

You can’t place it on another photo with the photos app. You might be able to find an app in the App Store that has that option.

You would need an app that allows that. You can’t using photos.

It’s not working for my 12 one. If I moved the photo, didn’t work at all
Try restarting the iPhon and try a different picture with a more prominent subject. If it works then you know it is the photo.

Yeah it just does that. It might be due to dark mode or something but it’s white when you send it and view it

Once you get the image to move, just let it go and then single tap on it. You will get those options.

If the feature doesn’t work at all you need to make sure your iOS is updated and you have a supported phone.
please i have iPhone 14 pro max , and when i use this tools the picture come with White background , how can i send it with clear background

My background is black. How did you get a white background
Black in dark mode and white in light mode. Just change your settings to light mode to see white but it’s a transparent background in the end.
