"If I'm going to be a partner in a law firm by the time I'm 30, I'm going to need a boyfriend who's not such a complete bonehead." Talk about a savage burn! 😎

Warner: "You got into Harvard Law?"
Elle: "What, like it's hard?"
Best quote ever!
The original savage.
2001: OH savage burn!
2021:Yeah, mom and dad definitely bribe the admissions board.
And he was still on the waiting list before his dad had to make a call
iconic
What was always insane to me is that people were actually surprised that Elle was accepted to Harvard & they act like she only got accepted because she was hot in her admissions essay video. When in reality her 4.0 in Fashion Merchandizing would classify as a business degree & she got a 179 on her LSAT (180 is a perfect score) so her score was incredibly high!!
There really wasn't a reason to not accept her into the law program!!
Ikr, even in the scene of the video they mention all the credits she have and they agree on accepting her. So it's actually funny what happens there, because there are two optipns: (1) she is well prepared and the video only helped her to overcome the misogyny of the institution by making them feel embarrassed of their sexual arousal or (2) she's accepted because of how she looks only, which only would ment that they are just horrible and unprofessional, which leads to the question which prestige Harvard have if their rulers are like super trash. Either way, Elle is not responsible for their misogyny and shouldnt stop herself for applying in the best way she believed (which bc of her background as beauty contester, it is not absurd)
@@tenochmorales9009also her video screamed lawyer commercial - she's a natural!
To be fair, in the musical two of the assistants mainly want to admit her because she’s pretty. The head guy doesn’t care about that and basically says “well, you have all the numbers, but where’s that extra thing?” Elle sings that she’s going for love and the guy takes pity on her and accepts her.
She even had all of those extra curriculars under her belt and she wasn't your typical Harvard Law applicant. Elle Woods was literally winning at life the whole time!
plus the university she went to was UCLA, while it’s known for being a party sorority school like it’s still a school that’s not easy to get into
Elle: This is what I need to become to be serious!
Old lady: What? Practically deformed?
Best. Line. In. This. Whole. Movie.

That lady was a gem.
Most underrated line!
Literally I always die at tht part
#2 imo is “what like it’s hard?”
I love how Legally Blonde also showed how being into typically girly things doesn’t mean you are a bully, but Elle was super sweet and was willing to help others! You can be into makeup and fashion and not be a jerk
Tell that to the stupid yt girls in my school
@@mewesquirrel6720 well not everyone can be nice, but I feel like the majority of people try to be like Elle Woods lol 😂
ikr? like she has such nice manners
@@mewesquirrel6720 not everyone is nice
Ffs.
Legally blonde was calling out the "I'm not a girly girl, I'm a cool girl" nearly 20 years before the general population did.
I think the negative reactions Elle has to deal with at Harvard also have a lot to do with her being new money. Her fashion is very loud (unlike the sedate and conservative clothes you see in old money families) and she wasn't socialised in the nuances of upper-class behaviour. It would make her stick out among students from old money and at least some of them would think less of her because of it.
@@BlueGangsta1958 your comment just made me realise her transition from the "regular conservative traditionally rich" to the "flashy typical girly pink" was prolly due to her breaking away from attempting to blend/fit in and be unapologetically herself-
Ikr FRRRRR 💖
I upload vidz 🥰💫✨
@@BlueGangsta1958 I don't think her family was new money, she seems like she grew up pretty wealthy and her parents seem typical conservative old money. I think they just let her do whatever she wanted and be who she wanted to be, loud fashion/girly/bubbly etc
Edit: I think its more of a commentary on west coast vs east coast wealth
Uh no? She embraced her femininity, she was a girly girl and a cool girl
I also loved that she was kind to Vivian and realized Warner wasn’t worth her time, but didn’t drop the program, instead kept going and didn’t let the situation defeat her.
Unlike other underdog movies, where the protagonist fuels their ambitions with the hate and doubt others throw at them, Elle succeeds by doing the opposite. Instead of focusing on her haters/doubters, she channels her energy towards her allies, which include her sorority sisters, Emmet, Paulette, Brook, and even her dog Brewser. She doesn't hold grudges or keep tabs. If you were rude to her yesterday, but are nice today, she focuses on today, allowing you to save face. At the same time, she's no pushover, and respects herself enough to give as good as she gets. When faced with adversity, she handles herself with grace and poise, works hard behind the scenes, then comes back and tries her best.
"What, like it's hard?" is so iconic because Warner's dad had to make a call for him to get off the waitlist and Elle got in all by herself.
OH BURN
YESS
It's definitely a good burn, even without all that.
That's true and all but she only got in because the men completely sexualized her and therefore she only got in because of her looks. but yeah it is still funny and iconic.
@@bordercolliegirl7878 lmao what? Did you even WATCH the movie? No, she didn't get in based only on looks or being sexualized. She got a 179 on her LSATS, which was higher than the score she would AT LEAST need. She worked her ass off to do that and she already had a 4.0 GPA. She also got in because of her work in her sorority (making faux fur undies for charity, which the admissions board recognized as being philanthropic and a lover of animals) and it was also showed that she had an appreciation for music (Ricky Martin video). Harvard never had a fashion major, either, before Elle and figured it would be nice to have some diversity amongst the other students' majors. The only men who sexualized her were Callahan and some boys on her move-in day and during a game of football that she was sunbathing during. No one on the admissions board saw her and accepted her just because she's a beautiful woman. She got in through hard work and determination. The whole movie is her proving just how smart that she, a pretty blonde girl from California, can be and that she's so much more than something nice to look at. This comment is so insulting lmao
I really liked how Elle's sorority sisters never doubted that she could get into Harvard. Instead they just made sure she realized how much work she would have to put in
AND helped her.
Endless support
Honestly this movie takes a few of the normal stereotypes and just did the complete opposite. It’s still pretty cliche but it’s much more fresh feeling
It was so good 🥺
Sisterhood
Fun fact, this is based off of the book the author made based on her own experience at law school (at Yale though). It was actually all written on pink paper with a fuzzy pink pen and that’s how it got noticed in the big pile of like, EVERYONE’S stories. It was so different, it got picked up and read.
*”THIS IS WHAT I NEED TO BECOME TO BE SERIOUS!“*
*”What? Practically deformed?“*
*I like this woman, she’s going places*
Can we just appreciate that this movie showed how hard it is to get into Harvard? Unlike every teen movie in the last 10 years?
Makes me appreciate this movie a lot more now, especially as all other portrayals of college tend to be "Get into college and become a instant success!! If you don't you'll be a loser at life working menial jobs!" , yet forgetting to show anything negative like Student Loans, bribing professors and how a college degree is not a 100 percent guarantee you'll be instantly hire for a professional job.
Flashbacks to the kissing booth where the main character’s admission essay was literally her listing random people in saying cheesy lines like “I wanna be my dads smile, I wanna be my best friend’s girlfriend’s joy”
@@foza_8866 😄😄😄😄😄😄
Honestly I think it did a little bit of both, but it works so well because Elle _is_ extremely smart, she's just Elle. Lol. Like, she still busted her ass to get into Harvard, and then through it, but I think there was some truth in when she asked Warner, "Oh, like it's hard?" while he was waitlisted. xD Like- Okay, Elle worked hard, but she also got into Harvard relatively easy because she's not a pile of rocks.
Noah in the kissing booth just read a book and got into Harvard
I like Elle's character a lot. More movies shouldn't "demonize" ultra-femininity.
It must have been a trend back then as we as got Miss Congeniality doing the same.
same here, it's actually kind of awesome that Elle is ultra-feminine and smart and is so unashamed of what everyone else thinks of her.
@@KhaosAdmiral eeeh, well... In the beginning at least it's more unaware than unashamed...
agreed yes she's hyperfeminine but she's not dumb and she becomes a harvard law student just to spite an ex boyfriend...........i respect that.
Me too. Elle taught me not to dumb yourself down to get people to like you, and to embrace your intelligence. Plus, why choose between brains and beauty when you can easily have both?
“I don’t need backups, I’m going to Harvard” and she got in with basically flying colors while Warner had to have his dad call in is honestly hilarious to me since she was so dedicated to proving him wrong on how she can be the one for him while somewhat befriending his girlfriend even though she was a little bit of a snob (to me at first)
In the musical Vivian was actually the one who believed it was entirely Callaghans fault and Warner who suggested Elle was sleeping her way to the top, as it made up for her original “failure to meet girl to girl solidarity”
I'm sorry but getting cat called and shouting "I OBJECT!" is iconic :)
Damnnn I never even caught that!!! Literally a double meaning damn

@@Blueeyesinthesky double meaning?
I love the line where she goes “I’m never going be good enough for you am I.” Her realizing he didn’t respect her and she deserved to be respected was so powerful. For me, this movie wasn’t about how a pretty girl can be both smart and feminine . It was pretty girl learns her true value and doesn’t rely on a man to validated herself.
Nowadays they make this super cringy on tv

Elle's not dumb she has a 4.0 in her major. That takes alot of hard work especially in college while also being the president of a sorority. Everyone just underestimates her because she is blonde and has a bubbly personality. And she was able to raise her score in the LSAT by 30 points within a few months. @@outinspace3083 yesss loved that
This movie is before it’s time because it doesn’t villainize Elle for being a girl. A lot of movies that have “I’m not like other girls” is literally just villainizing traditional femininity and is inherently anti woman
Exactly. A lot of Elle's mannerisms, attitude etc, in another movie, would translate directly to stupidity. This movie shows that she is girly and loves fashion and speaks in a high pitched voice, and she's STILL brilliant. She isn't less because if it, it's just a part of who she is. It's refreshing as hell.
@kshamwhizzle See that's were I don't agree. The movie came out when I was still in elementary school. I loved Elle for her femininity, her kind heart & how she became a lawyer by working her ass off. I don't look anything like Elle. I got darker skin, dark eyes, dark hair, yet I was able to identify with her & see her as my role model. She was the reason I wanted to become a lawyer when I grow up.
People nowadays always have to see their twin in a show/movie/game to be able to identify with them & that is wrong. She is a strong female, THAT'S what matters. & todays society trying to villainize these kind of women is wrong. Everybody should be allowed to be who they are. You're not like other girls? Cool! You're somebody who is girly? Also cool. Doesn't mean any of those are a bad thing to be. This whole new trend on villainizing extreme femininity is catty bitch behavior.
exactly. I'm not like Elle and never will be "the type of woman she is". yet, did I love her and everything she characterised. it's refreshing to see something so simple yet hardly actually shown in media. I have so many friends and associates who are nothing like me, but I can still appreciate them. I don't like pink and red. yet I can recognise when something is beautiful and suits another person. I can give compliments and enjoy girly girls. appreciate when they are super happy and do that cute high pitch stuff, and they love me and my differences. it's almost like they see me as a person.
@@SyntheticHalo THANK YOU for saying "everyone wants to see their twin in movies these days" people want these movies to be so niche and specific to them which is impossible and then bash it when it doesn't fit them to a T.
Yep. Also, I love that the one development Elle makes is to realise that she doesn't need this or any douchebag and that she can be whatever she wants if she just applies herself.
Emett is one of the few movie boyfriends (especially romcom bfs) who are genuinely helpful and kind and don't see the girl as an idol or concept, nbut just as a whole personality with flows. Also, he is not gaslighting, manipulating, just being by her side.
14:07 GAY OR EUROPIAN 🎵🎵✨✨
A lot of movie shows strong woman character as less feminine, femininity and strength are seen as opposite qualities. But this movie celebrated femininity, it showed a woman doesn't need to lose her femininity in order to be successful and strong, love this!!!!
Literally 👏👏👏
That’s the exact reason why it’s my favourite movie 💜
The movie celebrated traditional feminity. I choose to see it more as she stayed authentic. But I like your comment.
A woman also doesn't need to be feminine to succeed or be percieved as competent (this is a problem in some places)
@@thisisntallowed9560 the problem is that nowadays feminine is seen as a negative thing at least in America (where I'm from). There is nothing wrong with not only acknowledging but celebrating her femininity even if it can be seen as "traditional" considering nowadays you have to appear less feminine and more masculine to be seen as successful or powerful. Both can be appreciated.
@This isn't allowed I get your point but I haven't seen a film where it was implied that a woman needs to be feminine in order to be successful, it has always been the other way around. However, women who are not traditionally feminine are often considered as less of a women, eg: they'll not be a good partner/wife/girlfriend etc. There is even stereotypical jokes that successful career driven women end up alone or become cat lady. That's why I made the point about femininity and strength being seen as opposite qualities. 'I'm not like the other girls' trope has been used in movies for years to make femininity look like a negative thing, this movie defied it. The important thing is to acknowledge that there should be no definite rules for femininity, it should be an individual's choice. If someone chooses to be feminine in short hair, let her; if someone chooses to be feminine in pink, let her be as well. No need to pit them against each other, or villify them for their choices 😇
Elle Woods was a prime example of a woman who was discovering herself and realized she didn't need someone who didn't support and appreciate her for who she was and could become. She's an amazing role model. *And a total savage.*
She has her sorority for support
And she's nice and a good person. She doesn't need to be mean to prove herself

The main song off the soundtrack (that's not Perfect Day by Hoku) describes this description of Legally Blonde. It's called Don't Need You To by Samantha Mumba.
I love that Elle doesn't sacrifice those girl loves of hers too. She becomes a lawyer but keeps her love of fashion and girly things. It's refreshing and it did so well I'm surprised the concept isn't used more
I love Elle so much not only is she kind to everyone, she’s smart, and doesn’t judge other girls for being different than her.
Elle's being accepted to Harvard in Legally Blonde is more realistic than Elle's acceptance to Harvard in Kissing Booth ngl
I think almost every other acceptance into Harvard is more realistic than Elle's acceptance to Harvard in kissing booth lmao
@@amberyadav3147 Lmao
@@amberyadav3147 yea all she needed to qualify was “what do you wanna do in 5 years”
@@gemmaxox8698 And that essay was TRASH
I have a friend who started at Harvard this fall the application process isn’t super crazy or anything but she was also a first generation student who immigrated here, speaks three languages, was President of our junior class and had a 3.8 gpa so she had a lot to add to her application as well as her college essay. She also had three supplements to answer for her application so Elle from the Kissing Booth was pretty unrealistic lol
I'm never gonna stop loving this movie. Elle not being a 'not like other girls' protagonist and actually embracing her femininity is so refreshing.
I agree! Just because a girl is intelligent, it doesn’t mean she can’t dress girly or cute!
Tbh I don’t believe all girls are the same in general. Some people have thought I was a guy online because of the way I phrase things or what I’m interested in. I think we should realize there no such thing as acting female or male when it comes to your personality. Yes, there are differences between both genders due to hormonal and body reasons but that’s about it.
@@willowlaurent2117 well yes but many girls make fun of "hyperfemininity" in general acting like it's something childish and stupid, even if (especially back then) women were view in that way, on the other side of the coin people make fun of tomboys for not being "real women" this double standard made many girls become "pick me" to feel different to any other kind of girl, basically being a contrarian for not wanting to be putted in a box
If what she portrays is feminity then we are doomed
@@user-yt2xv1gs7l why tho
I also liked how they subverted the trope of sororities to an extent, by having it be the type with only the most wealthy, connected, and generally pretty young women who aren't academically inclined which is stereotypical, but they're still actually nice people, as opposed to scheming backstabbers and/or mean girls. They were super supportive of Elle and helped her out, even if her plan was a bit bonkers and went against the 'coast through college and just rely on the family money'.
2:41 I love that random flex 😭😭
I’ve always considered legally blonde to be a feminist masterpiece.
and the best thing is that it's not like the new feminist movies where the girl just goes "ah no men are trash", starts reading questionable literature, hates men and thinks it's different/better than everyone else. Legally Blonde is all about showing that feminine girls are as good as everyone else, feminine is not the opposite of strong and also Elle saying "why would you do that to another girl? Us girls have to stick together" and generally her belief in other girls and how they shouldnt turn against each other /also Elle helping Paulette even tho Paulette is poorer/working class/middle aged etc, like if it was any other movie Elle would be either mean towards Paulette or not bait an eye on her and here she was just "ok sis we stick together now lets get the dog"./
@kshamwhizzle what’s the gay stereotype in the movie? That straight men don’t know designers? It’s not homophobic, it assumes gay men have more knowledge than straight men.
Not to mention... it’s at least partially true.
@@ankyfire it's assuming that guy men know designer, it's not a harsher case of homophobia but more casual like the idea that all gay girls are butch
@your overwatered plant stereotypes are a form of mild homophobia
@@charlie1296 I don't think that's exactly true. there are stereotypes about any distinct group of people and we often unintentionally fall for them, but it doesn't mean we hate everyone. mostly it's just ignorance instead of a *phobia. yes, they are a problem, but a problem of its own. there was nothing in this movie that said being gay is bad or was stereotyping gay men more than other characters (this movie had a lot of stereotypes in general)
Some things aren't weird about this movie like Elle studying hard to get into Harvard University and became a successful lawyer. I admire her for that
I agree, this movie has a pro feminist quality to it, which is timeless to this day!
@@trinaq Well said and it shows we women can dress pretty and at the same get into top universities

I never understood why she wanted him back in the first place other than that being the first stepping stone for Elle as a character to stand out on her own and realize that she is more than just her looks or who she is in a relationship with. I guess part of me just thinks that most people would likely know to keep their distance from a guy that pompous and weaselly. Oh well, live and learn right?
Not only does Elle like "girly stuff", her liking and knowing about hair is how she wins the case, her girliness saves the day
My dad loves this movie. My mom told me that last year, and it was probably the biggest shock of my life, bc my dad is like the most serious person you will ever meet
This movie was waaayy ahead of it's time. I don't even think it's a rom com. Like, yes she gets the better guy in the end in classic rom-com fashion, but that is not what this movie is about. She is uncompromisingly herself from beginning to end. She starts the movie with the strength, determination, and intelligence to be whatever she wants to be. This is a female empowerment story where she learns that she is only limited by the boxes she allows herself to be placed in. Once she recognizes "oh, i can be more than just a lawyer's wife- i can be a lawyer!" she shocks everyone with her success because she does it on her own terms. I definitely have a newfound respect for this story 20 years later.
Anti stepford wife😊
I also always liked how they didn’t make the relationship with Emmett be the main focus. The main focus is her proving herself. It’s a great film
I think there's a reason Legally Blonde and Mean Girls are both iconic, feministic, and beloved by plenty of men too. We need more movies like Legally Blonde and Mean Girls really. I think as of now the only feministic, not shallow girl power, and genuinely a good story that men like too are Wonder Woman 2017, Birds of Prey+Harley, and Mad Max Fury Road.
It really wasn’t she is a rich white girl getting into Harvard that’s normal lol
I really love the movie for that but I also appreciate that the musical focuses a little more on Emmett and gives him more depth than in the movie and it's focused a little more on how their relationship developed. I like both a lot because it's like you have two different views on what's basically the same story
I’m shocked the party scene wasn’t brought up where Vivian invited to her to a party saying it was a costume party when it very much wasn’t, especially the sick burn Elle laid on Vivian she said “usually when I dress up like a frigid bitch, I try not to look so constipated”

Jealousy. Pure jealousy.
it's the ditz part that's often gross. that usually put on and exaggerated out of insecurity. especially if doing well in "men's" subjects. it's compensation to seem non threatening.
now most importantly regarding their grades...how much did their parents make yearly?
They always put the bully stereotype on these kind of girls
Pretty privilege is amazing until you start to realize it's completely transactional, and people are not really interested in you when you being pretty is not "useful" anymore. I was, like, 13 when i realized that (not only from my experience, but older friends too), and then my "I'm not like other girls" phase started. Wish I've seen this movie then.
Still, the thing about being extremely underestimated for being pretty and girly is that you get to see the looks on people's faces when you succeed and it's hilarious, and this movie captures the experience perfectly lol It's also really good when you see other girls embracing feminility in their own way because you started something.
Elle is my role model
Fun fact: Established Titles is practically a scam.
But he didn’t know that at the time

I also feel like it’s never fully appreciated how genuinely smart/accomplished Elle is even before Harvard. Like a 4.0 is freaking amazing in college, and fashion merchandising is still a branch of marketing which is not easy stuff. Also doing all of this while being the president of her sorority? People scoff, but running any organization is A LOT of time management and people skills, it’s really impressive. As someone from a sorority I could’ve never been president, it’s so much responsibility and work. And then a 179 on her LSATs which is close to perfect? Girl is a queen, and I love that she never sacrifices her sense of self, it’s aged so well, I adore Elle Woods.
You can also add that ALL the girls in the sorority are helpful and kind, very sweet and caring; Elle as president WANTED to fill the house with good people.

For people that don't know 179 is insanely high. A perfect score is 180. The median LSAT Harvard or Yale is 173.
:O what?!
Woow really! I didn't know. Thanks for explaining.
Yup, that and her 4.0 gpa along with that very different “essay” she was bound to get in tbh.
@@fififornow8031 yep even without the essay she had really good chances to get in. Her grades were almost perfect, she was the president of her sorority (i think that's what it's called) so i assume she had a good list of extracurricular activities and she's super rich. Her essay was just the cherry on top but she probably could've gotten in without it.
I love how they make the protagonist holds some stereotypes of “blonde girls” while still being an amazing student. It’s truly a movie ahead of its time
Ya know what shocks me is that these people let 1st year law students get on a murder case😂
Elle Woods is basically my whole personality
I didn't know you really existed, but if it works
So the bad parts? Lol
How are you sure?
you guys are so rude- 😂
"What, like it's hard?" 😅😅 kidding, we stan a queen. :))
You skipped the part where warner finally wants her and she turns him down in the same way he broke up with her in the beginning! That was one of the best parts!!
sassy queen
my favorite part, so satisfying!
i love your reviews so much. thank you for making them
noooo you skipped one of the best bits when she screams ME after being accepted into the internship ICONIC!
I love how her happy ending isn’t about getting the guy back. It’s about discovering her potential while remaining true to herself.
Perfectly worded
Yes! Exactly. Her speech at the end saying, “ You should always have faith in people, but most importantly you should always have faith in yourself.” Always get me 😭
My girl Elle actually studied hard and then got into Harvard unlike the other female leads who were always in boy drama and magically got accepted in like 3 prestigious universities. And her character is just iconic like she was the definition of queen. She was spoilt but she wasn't a brat.
Right I love how she worked hard for it
Precisely, Elle subverted people's perceptions about her, and proved them all wrong!
Lara Jean has left the chat.......
Lol kissing booth
@@toxictv9021 Well, the movies don't actually show it but Lara Jean did study. In the books. But I know what you mean.

It was impressive he summed the whole movie without bringing her up...
“I’m taking the damn dog!” Lol
She got that package delivery in the end
How dare he
And the Bend n Snap ... that isn't painful to watch lol
I envy girls like Elle especially for her social intelligence. I may be okay academically but I definitely suck at the socializing department. And if I was put in any position of leadership I'd be stressed all the time
Same. I’m like Elle in the fact that I’m girly and book smart but my social and organization skills leave a lot to be desired
I agree. How are some people so comfortable in leadership roles?
You need to work harder to get that social security you want, just like Elle did in the educational field. Nobody is perfect, but by working at it, you can be the person you want to be.
she's so not the pretty mean girl stereotype. being actually caring and kind is queen
same!
The movie was pretty decent, but the musical adaptation was 10X better. The music was absolutely amazing and it really added to the comedic experience.
Ur comedy helps me off the ledge thanks man
My favourite moment of the whole movie is when they out the pool boy by tricking him into admitting he has a boyfriend named Chuck, and then he tries to weasel out of it by claiming Chuck is just his friend, only for Chuck to stand up and yell "You Bitch!" - always makes me laugh
I thought that was funny. "Friend" of mine ruined it for me though because she deadass, unironically called me homophobic for laughing at an outdated homophobic joke funny moment thing. It was a very unpleasant experience 😂😭
@Luna wow! Sounds like you need better friends :/
@@lunaredelvour2972 Joke isn't even homophobic.
@@lunaredelvour2972 lol sounds like a fake woke person. getting offended for no reason and claiming things that aren't hence actually diminishing real cases. stop being friends with them if this is a pattern. those ppl are not good for anyone. they just drag you down and cause harm with their ignorance and vigor
I love how Elle never changes who she is. She studies very hard and really never changes her very aloof and very optimistic. But she’s very intelligent even if she was a “bimbo” stereotype
I think you're using the term aloof incorrectly. But I agree otherwise
I feel like she tries to for a while because in her beginning time in Harvard and especially during the internship she wears a lot more toned down colours so at least her outfits changed for a little while but she realises that she doesn't need to dress up in black and white to do the law thing and I love that
@Lilaboxx yep. fashion is how she expresses herself so she feels like to be taken seriously, she has to dress the part too.
I think that when she first gets into the internship she becomes more "serious" but when she goes to the last part of the trial in the hot pink suit it's like the final moment of embracing the "Yes, I adore fashion and girly stuff and I'm one heck of a law student" idk
You said Warren multiple times in the video instead of Warner and I laughed so damn loud each time. You’re amazing
It was originally a book, got a film adaption and then a stage musical adaption. If you cruise through tons of fan music videos in pounds of various fandoms, there’s a certain song from the musical that you’ve likely encountered.

Legally Blonde is a PERFECT movie.
no. just no.

The thing was Elle always smart. She was graduating with a 4.0, was top of her class, highly involved in extra curriculars.
She was just very hyper fem which is seen as not professional because of ... sexism. Oh in the disconnect of old money and new money.
and the dress part in the shop in the beginnign, how the lady tried to trick her into buying the dress because she assumed Elle was just a dumb blonde and Elle disproved and called her out. We love a strong feminine smart queen
@@yonicorn1641 by using her knowledge about fabrics, that's professional
You know what I just realised that the actor who plays warner is the same dude who plays Alaric in tvd

But I did enjoy this movie.

Hi.
@@duckymomo7935 Which one are you talking too ?
I’m a little hurt that Jennifer Coolidge’s role was not mentioned in this video😞
The bend and snap turned this from a good movie to ICONIC
Especially since it was a huge role and had a complete big role in Elle’s life
Me too, she is my fave character in the film ☺️
Me too, I adore Jennifer Coolidge, and Paulette is such a supportive friend to Elle. I loved her subplot with the FedEx guy, or the scene where Elle helps her to get her dog back from her deadbeat ex.
“I’m taking the dog, dumbass!” She was incredible in this film.
Everyone knows something you may not, and I'm glad they worked that into this movie.
Warner's reasons for breaking up with Elle...it's a real stealthy "You're no Jack Kennedy" joke. Takes a bit of context, but it's the funniest part by far. Especially since Marilyn Monroe actually absurdly sharp-witted.
The best part about the movie is that Elle didn’t have to change her personality
I think something that’s even better about the movie is that she TRIED to change her personality, until she realized she was better off embracing who she really was.

This movie actually aged pretty well, except for the gays know designers and straight men don’t. Have any of you seen the musical version of this? Every time I watch the movie I can’t help but sing the songs
The musical soundtrack is one of my favorites to play while I work. It peps me up and inspires me to keep working hard.

@@gabrielleporter553 ooh so exciting that you get to do it at your school! We only ever perform Shakespeare plays
*inhale*
IS THAT MY NAME UP ON THAT LIST-
I love the musical
I wouldn’t classify this CLASSIC as a romcom! The majority of the movie is about Elle finding her self worth and proving everyone else who thought she was just a “dumb blonde” wrong.
honestly this movie has been my comfort movie for a long time and I always watch it when anything has come up or I’m feeling down for any reason
Legally blonder is so ahead of its time that even today’s movies could never. Netflix just focuses on the quirky, relatable girl which is never neither quirky or relatable. Elle was beautiful, fun, loving and smart. Vivien was smart but was shown to really just depend on her brains and even Warren. She went from mean girl who stope the guy to being her own person who saw herself and Elle for all her worth. Like this movie has so many transitions. You think for a minute that Warren would even see Elle for the way she is and choose her. But nope he turned out to be the jackass who got left alone. Elle didn’t need Warren and neither did Vivien
Yeah I like that Elle isn't the only character who has great development
Like Paulette who finds her courage n vivianne who finally realized that all her prejudices she had about Elle weren't true n they all came from Warner
Even Enid at the end realised that Elle wasn't the mean girl she thought she was
And what does _that_ say about Elle and Vivien? Or, is that irony just lost on you?
@@CorbCorbin ???

Gotta love the Established Titles sponsorship claiming, "....and just to reiterate here for a second ok, this isn't some fake gimmick certificate thing...." when it is absolutely a 'fake gimmick certificate thing'. XD. These Established Title sponsorships aged like fine milk.

This is my favourite example of "Strong Female Character"
I think she fits the definition, best part is that she does have those moments of vulnerability and she overcomes them. She has a personality and is a realistic depiction of strong women.
She does cry over Warner, she feels bullied by Vivian, when she goes with Paulette to get the dog she's nervous, the bunny suit she wore must have been super embarassing, she works out (You actually see.her do that, and it's not some stupid unnecessary "fight scene"), she feels violated by Callahan and nearly quits, things don't magically happen for her because she's strong, she just adapts well. 😁
Exactly. She had so much crap thrown her way but she overcame it. Felt for her through the film.
Agreed you can be girly, blonde, love fashion etc and still be smart AF. If anything this film is more about the everyday misogyny found in certain professions.
“Elle, Poohbear” **retching sound** absolutely sent me 🤣🤣
But seriously, what kind of crusty dipshit calls someone their pet name 1.5 seconds before dumping them
I unironically LOVE this move. I mean, Reese Witherspoon is absolutely adorable in this roll and she played it really well I gotta give her credit
Yes, it's cheesy, but I feel like that's a huge part of the tone in this movie. I feel like it doesn't take itself seriously all that much and it really works to its advantage.
I mean yeah not as good as something like Pretty Woman, but it still surprisingly holds up way better than I thought
Alex: *movie title* is a weird movie...
