- Born into slavery in the U.S. before the Revolutionary War, young Richard Allen believes he faces a hopeless future. But after becoming a Christian as a young man and then seeing his master also come to faith, Allen buys his freedom. As a free man, he serves God first as circuit riding preacher and then as a pastor in Philadelphia. Even so, Allen cannot completely leave the injustice of his past behind. When the White senior pastor tells Allen and other Black congregants to “know their place,”-which is in the balcony, away from White parishioners-Reverend Allen must make a decision. How will he stand up for his people? When an epidemic strikes Philadelphia, will he risk his own life to help those who treated him as a second-class citizen? In this episode of The Torchlighters, meet the founder of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and learn how he faithfully served God in the face of discrimination and plague.

So what. If your going to follow the law then follow all of it to a T. You guys act like the Sabbath was never addressed in the NT. Calendar days are different and do you think God really cares what day you take time to honor and worship Him or that you do in the first place? You should be living the Sabbath daily not just once a week. God literally said the Jews would never enter his Sabbath rest through the law but in Christ we do. Read your Bibles for goodness sake and stop picking up man made doctrine!

Vision video actually made three biblically accurate movies. One was about Jesus's life, second was about the disciples, and the third was about paul. All of theses were made by the people who made torchlighters, and are extremely accurate.

Oh what a wonderful story. So much to learn from Reverend Richard Allen, the patience, the trust , the endurance and above all the Lord’s strength in him. It’s amazing how the Good Lord Jesus Christ used him just like he used Joseph in time of famine. Also, the animation was splendid ❤❤❤❤
