@@osnicaleb I don’t really think it’s fair to say she was BETTER… they’re both AMAZING singers. It’s all about preference. People like different types of music genres, singers, etc. So you could just say, “she was great, but I really preferred Cassie. Her voice was my favorite”. Try saying things nicer, maybe? 😅🤷🏻♀️ It’s easy and I don’t know…. It’s just better to be kind and share your opinions and thoughts without putting other people down lol. Just a suggestion. 😆👍🏻

Sometime it can help you out of those dark moments and flashback. I have PTSD and sometime it does help. She may have come to term with it

I remember watching that episode of the voice, at home and I was amazed by her performance but also quite shocked at what had happened when she was only 16 years old!

I’m from Palau and we’ve never had news about someone getting lost at sea at that time. Except the boat was in place but divers were just pushed by the current. The boat never left. The boat driver was looking for you all.

Im from Palau, and it is a small island that you would know if a person died at sea or got lost before the diving boat docks. We have never heard of such thing happening.

It seems to me a lot of the best artists miss out on the Finals because their Coach may have two of the best singers.
It happened with the Fullers and now Lau . Her performances are hard to pull away from. She literally made me cry at the end of the last one. Just beautiful.
Arlo is absolutely amazing too though. They’re just different. Like Keith said about the 3 girls before he chose her. They’re all so great… it’s a hard choice. I loved her and Arlo so much and I think they’re both going places.

I'm from Palau. No boat captain will ever intentionally leave divers in the water. Also, your dive guide is ALWAYS equipped with a brightly colored Surface Marker Buoy(SMB) to help the captain locate your group.

I love how people are so conceded. Like something happened to her and it happened to her not you. The fact that half of y’all are trying to make it seem as if what happened to her isn’t true or that she is using it for fame is really low. It is her story. And you're right, they turned for her and her voice. She's not using this traumatic experience to gain fame, but the producers of the show are using this young woman's pain to add dramatic intrigue to the show. I think she is incredibly talented, but I also feel bad that The Voice abused its power by presenting her story in the way that they did.
@@jenne-leecannon1159 that’s what all of these shows do. They literally LOOK for people with stories that will shock people or touch people’s hearts. I hate it. I mean, people should only share stories like that if they want to, maybe just to let the viewers know more about them… but the producers definitely do those things on purpose and it’s so unnecessary, in my opinion.
Law is really good at singing, what would you call them, narrational songs, songs that tell a story. Besides being a good singer, she's also really pretty. Good stuff.

Instead of trying to call this girls story BS - why not recognise that this was a 16 year old kid who got stuck out at sea for over 5 hours, with her family.
Who cares if some of the minor details may be a bit skewed. The boat op may have drifted, she may have been reef diving not out in the blue, does that all matter so much?
Nope. What does matter is that a 16 year old had to go through that horrific experience and has survived to show the world she’s got an incredible gift in music.

Gotta keep it real Cassie, Janel or Lau any one of these girls could have easily won. The problem is like in all countries the voice doesn't let the contestant pick which song they want to sing which is wrong in my opinion. People know what songs are in their wheel house and which ones aren't. I say let each contestant pick their own songs and lets hear the best they got. I think it would make for better performances and a better show all around.
It definitely would but that wouldn't be much of a competition either. The voice is also there to let them out of their comfort zones and to explore other things they could do with their voice to improve. Though sometimes it really is unfair that there were bad song choices
@@sprite4360 most professional singers stay in there comfort zone and no one wants to hear a person like Garth Brooks sing Lizzo for example. So why not let them stay in there comfort zone because that's the kind of music they're going to make and lets see how it all plays out. It would be kind of like going to sing karaoke and having your friends pick songs for you to sing that you know you can't sing. In all actuality that could be used more to get someone kicked off the show. I guess I was trying to say let everyone be who they are and let the coaches give them tips and advice on how to better themselves on what they want to do not lets have you sing something totally out of your comfort zone.

"The boat has left"? maybe the boat didn't leave.. maybe they were just swept away so far by the current and surfaced at the wrong place and the boat was trying to search for them. it gives such bad narrative. boatmens won't leave especially if their crew (the guide who was with her) was down in the water as well.

So they hype a person up juss to not even pass them through to the finals. They did it wit the fuller siblings(both of whom had angelic voices) and now they doing it wit Lau who literally sung on tune for all three songs
Shit happens, yes. But if you know anything about The Republic of Palau, you know that we pride ourselves on our diving. No boat operator would intentionally leave their customers and or their own co-worker. She, herself, said that the current was strong and they drifted so how would you translate that to the captain left you?
Please clear up your story.
Even if they drifted away on the current how was the boat operator , a local , not able to tell which way the current was going so he would know which direction to look for them . Why were they in the water for 5 1/2 hrs and why were they rescued by a completely different boat . That doesnt make any sense .

We don't swim in the blue for no reason. Palau's diving is reef diving not blue water. And to say you were floating for a long time? Probably was only a couple minutes. Drift diving means the boat comes to you which takes a couple minutes. So if you surfaced and there was no boat then a few minutes it picked you up, then that means you were drift diving. People will do anything for fame.

So she's 21 now and said the incident happened when she was 16 so like 5 years ago. Some people can tell a story whether it be true or not and it can change every time they tell it. So maybe something did happen but not exactly what she said happened...... Does that make sense to anyone? She also said that when they were in the water nothing was around them except clear blue nothingness so she could've been confused or even dazed about what was actually happening. {i hope some of that makes sense, i tried to word it the best i could}
This is one of those things, known as musical politics, I believe. I had to find Arlo's performances & watch them, so I could make a distinction between the two myself.
What I see? Arlo has the "big" kind of voice, and throws really nice tricks while he's performing. If you watch his performance with Keith? They're extremely similar imo. And I'm think he felt Arlo was the one he could win the whole thing with because of this, over Lau.
Big mistake, again, imo. Lau Abend is the kind of talent who WILL eventually make a name for herself- IF she sticks with it- doesn't go off on the "Cover song" train as so many do, and find YOUR voice for your OWN songs, ASAP, and begin working to have that same emotion & connection with those songs, as you did your final song, here.
And just sing. You don't need tricks, or runs. The one tiny run you did ... @10:26 in the Harry Styles song? THAT was beautiful. When you can place runs like that in a song, sparingly, in maybe only one or two places, and just SING the rest of the song? THOSE will be the runs people remember, and will be left craving, in a good way, for so much more of that.
That is the kind of singer the world needs more of right now- Not the trick-throwing, over-produced, runs on every line-type of singers. That's confusing to the ears of the LARGE audiences- Think... Karen Carpenter- THAT? Is an incredible niche you could fill, and make the world come along for the ride.
