    nice little quick and useful table/stool. Will probably make one or two for like you said--side tables, Am getting to old to sit on something like that for very long, would kill my ah back!!

      My wife and I use these for end tables in our tent when we are camping and they work great. I'm like you....my back wouldn't handle sitting on one of these for too long. Thanks for tuning in Donna and for taking the time to leave your comment. Good luck on your project.

    It is simple and easy to make. It also looks great. You could even use it for a temporary stand at Christmas to set a one time holiday plant on. When done, fold it up and put it away until next time. Enjoyed, take care!!!

    These are really nice, I have made a couple for TV tables using 1 x 12 pine for the top and cutting them in a circle, they sure are handy. I did have issues getting the top pieces in the correct position so they mated together. Thank you for another great project, they will be really nice around a camp fire.

    What a blast from the past for me, when I first started wood working other than building two houses, a friend was a cabinet maker. He walked me through making one of these stools. That was in 1981 and I still use it two weeks ago I used this stool. Mine is a bit lose today but still functional. I sanded the dowels like you did before installing and I also used paste wax on the dowels and used 18 gauge brads to pin them in place. Thank you for show casing this build with your tutelage I will be making a new one. 😁🛫
    Another outstanding show!

    I see a new use for my palm nailer. Will need to add an attachment, but it would hammer in those dowel rods.

    Kenny, lol I never thought of these as stools. I have made these (or a variation) but I always thought they were tables. Never even considered that you could sit on them. I learn something every day. They are a neat little project regardless of what you use them for..😁

    • @acutabove_woodworkings

    Great video. I tried making a stool following your tutorial but evidently my forester bit and dowel are not quite the same. I had too much play in the joint.

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  Před rokem

      Chances are your dowels are the culprit. I would suggest getting new dowels and replacing them smaller diameter ones. Good luck with your project. Thanks for tuning in David.

    Love this tutorial. I'm going to make one for the shop, and a couple for my buddy who's working on a small camper trailer over the winter. I've watched it three times now, but haven't caught the size of the two boards for the seat. I'm assuming 3/4" thick, but what are the other two dimensions?

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  Před rokem

      Starting at 1:45 a state the size of the seats. They are 3/4" thick and measure 4-1/2"X12". I hope this helps. Good luck on your build and thanks for tuning in to the show.
