Firstly, there is no point in considering it world heritage. I used to travel through this site daily while working there. Hardly any tourist would come to visit here. Secondly, regarding space issue, only 5% of the space is used by common public. Rest is administration office. Finally, many of the world's premier businesses wants to set up their businesses in Mumbai like they do in New York, London, Dubai, etc. Yet its infrastructure is not living upto its standard. Slow progress in metro projects and now this retro-fitted design. Very much disappointed with govt's laggard approach.
And how come architectures not gave a thought about skywalk connectivity in this area which was needed. We are still struggling with old dirty, dangerous (can be suffocating and prone to flood during rains), and energy hungry (due to ventilator systems) subway which is crowded by hawkers. Most of the mumbaikars dont have option but has to travel through it.
Cst is unesco heritage cite..u cnt make changes to the building as per law. Also making any modern structure taller than the unesco cst station will make it look small and ugly. So govt took right call to renovate it keepin the buildin aesthetics in mind

I think the worst station in the country is Chennai central :) it is more crowded, economically viable, and the centre of many areas.. still no major change except a few little changes .. I am not from TN, but I think that station also deserves the change ... hope gov considers it in the next plan .. railway ministry doing good work from suresh prabhu time ..

Jaipur reflect rajputhana royal type theme, murals in station. Religious place station have themes related to temples and diety etc. That way all indian station will be unique, beautiful and different. Dnt jus make all concrete junk like malls with no identity, culture or speciality

Sir, I am very optimistic about the projects and how beneficial they’re going to be once they r being ready for public usage. I understand politics play a big role in all such decisions, however knowing the fact that govt. at Centre and WB can’t see each other, my humble request would be to revamp the Howrah as well as Sealdah stations as well. Please ignore the politics for the betterment of common people since these two stations r lifeline for many of us and they put us at disadvantage all the time. They r in very bad shape and must be revamped simply because we deserve a basic infrastructure to commute. At present, it is hell that much I want to tell you. Thank you

There will be completely new station at BKC for bullet train for Mumbai- Ahemdabad-Delhi Mumbai - Hydrabad like plus that will be connected directly to CST

Pretty soon. The plan is to get them all ready and running before 2030. Will take 3-4 years to complete once construction starts. So, *if things go according to plan* , you can see these stations ready by 2029. Sounds like a lot, but usually these projects get a lot of priority from the government. They won't take 10 years.
Also, several other projects are being planned and carried out simultaneously. Like, by the time this station is ready, The Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah routes will be 160 Kmph capable. All Rajdhanis would have received Tejas Rakes. We would have received the Vande Bharat 3 sleeper trains made of Aluminum and capable of doing 200 Kmph. There are plans to extend the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train route to Delhi as well (I think, by 2035). This is the 'plan'. So, by the time the station is ready, I am expecting at least 50% of these projects to be completed even if we take a conservative approach.

I didn’t like the design of CST station. 1) You should remove heritage building from railway operations n hand it over to ASI for preservation. 2) Fresh New structure should build like New Delhi next to hearitage building. 3) for suburban Railways you should use all upper space for building malls n other things . Just making small walking area not gonna be enough. 4) there is no elevated roads around like New Delhi. If you are making for 50 years then you should consider all this amendment else for next 10years of your governance is fine

Rajdhani Express trains connect state capitals to the country capital (New Delhi). I think a Vande Bharat can be allocated to this route (sleeper version in the future as well)
@@AbhishekSanyalTGV but u see the train Udayan exp from Sbc to Cstm runs daily without pantry and in Rajdhani as a train it is premium and has pantry car in it and if it runs daily it can be most profitable and promising train from Bangalore to Mumbai because Udayan sometimes be late and by introducing Rajdhani train the journey from Bangalore to Mumbai can be reduced to 18 or 19 hrs now it takes nearly 24 hrs to Mumbai from Bangalore
@@utsavkumar.d395 That is true, but the whole purpose of Rajdhani trains is to connect New Delhi with state capitals. So it defeats the purpose. Shatabdi, Duronto, Tejas, and Vande Bharat Express trains are eligible for the route that you are talking about.
First priority should be passanger comfort during train journey. Still we witness the journey of general class. We public are ashamed of seeing how genral public travels in general boggies. The food catering is not uniform though out the country, there is food cartel which dominates the catering system charging more without bills. Investing heavily into 2 to 3 major stations will not solve the railways shortcoming. Again this govt. focuses on symbolism instead of holistic development. We can see most of the stations electronic boards are disfunctional, which causes inconvinience to the people without having proper knowledge of platform no, last moment there is kiosk. Lots of small issues that can be resolved very quickly, but again focus is on advertisement with symbolic so called world class infra.
I voted for Modi Ji but I live in Panchkula, Haryana which requires a Metro project and is the best city in terms of education but traffic jams is Mohali IT sector, Chandigarh IT , and Panchkula IT PARKS Employees are struggling to reach Home to family on time Baddi, Zirakpur, Pinjor, Ambala, Panchkula and Mohali please have to struggle Everyday.
It was proposed to run a Metro Train service in Chandigarh, but the project was rejected due to commercial viability. Punjab and Haryana (apart from NCR) does not require an urban rapid transit at least till 2030.
The Ministry first set their staff right. Worst maintenance of the stations , Coaches , Very unhygienic food , late running of the trains. People must feel the change. Mare Boasting will never work. Mr Lalu Prasad was a better performer.

not about platforms, it`s about passenger footfall in Delhi, CSMT, and Ahmedabad have monthly 40 to 50 lakhs or even more for CSMT and Delhi... and about biasness, just we Bengalis are biased about freebies, the same way the center is biased about the development of MH, UP, GUJRAT, ODHISA, ASSAM, KARNATAKA, etc... besides what will happen if the center invests crores of money in Bengal, some more Partha will arise, just like MNCS fear to invest in Bengal, I am not saying this with biases toward BJP, but we Bengalis are freebies takers who can`t afford development... Our development phase was over with the death of our Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy, I have taken the decision in order to build a professional career we have to leave Bengal...

Govt can't remove old buildings , these are declared world heritage .
Think practical solutions, not emotional ones. CST station building is a world heritage site. Apart from that lack of space is a big issue.

Sir, I am very optimistic about the projects and how beneficial they’re going to be once they r being ready for public usage. I understand politics play a big role in all such decisions, however knowing the fact that govt. at Centre and WB can’t see each other, my humble request would be to revamp the Howrah as well as Sealdah stations as well. Please ignore the politics for the betterment of common people since these two stations r lifeline for many of us and they put us at disadvantage all the time. They r in very bad shape and must be revamped simply because we deserve a basic infrastructure to commute. At present, it is hell that much I want to tell you. Thank you

They all look fantastic, buy by when can we expect the construction to start on these stations?
Pretty soon. The plan is to get them all ready and running before 2030. Will take 3-4 years to complete once construction starts. So, *if things go according to plan* , you can see these stations ready by 2029. Sounds like a lot, but usually these projects get a lot of priority from the government. They won't take 10 years.
Also, several other projects are being planned and carried out simultaneously. Like, by the time this station is ready, The Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah routes will be 160 Kmph capable. All Rajdhanis would have received Tejas Rakes. We would have received the Vande Bharat 3 sleeper trains made of Aluminum and capable of doing 200 Kmph. There are plans to extend the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train route to Delhi as well (I think, by 2035). This is the 'plan'. So, by the time the station is ready, I am expecting at least 50% of these projects to be completed even if we take a conservative approach.

Design of CSMT need to improve.
I didn’t like the design of CST station.
1) You should remove heritage building from railway operations n hand it over to ASI for preservation.
2) Fresh New structure should build like New Delhi next to hearitage building.
3) for suburban Railways you should use all upper space for building malls n other things . Just making small walking area not gonna be enough.
4) there is no elevated roads around like New Delhi. If you are making for 50 years then you should consider all this amendment else for next 10years of your governance is fine

Rajdhani Express trains connect state capitals to the country capital (New Delhi). I think a Vande Bharat can be allocated to this route (sleeper version in the future as well)
@@AbhishekSanyalTGV but u see the train Udayan exp from Sbc to Cstm runs daily without pantry and in Rajdhani as a train it is premium and has pantry car in it and if it runs daily it can be most profitable and promising train from Bangalore to Mumbai because Udayan sometimes be late and by introducing Rajdhani train the journey from Bangalore to Mumbai can be reduced to 18 or 19 hrs now it takes nearly 24 hrs to Mumbai from Bangalore
@@utsavkumar.d395 That is true, but the whole purpose of Rajdhani trains is to connect New Delhi with state capitals. So it defeats the purpose. Shatabdi, Duronto, Tejas, and Vande Bharat Express trains are eligible for the route that you are talking about.
First priority should be passanger comfort during train journey. Still we witness the journey of general class. We public are ashamed of seeing how genral public travels in general boggies.
The food catering is not uniform though out the country, there is food cartel which dominates the catering system charging more without bills.
Investing heavily into 2 to 3 major stations will not solve the railways shortcoming. Again this govt. focuses on symbolism instead of holistic development.
We can see most of the stations electronic boards are disfunctional, which causes inconvinience to the people without having proper knowledge of platform no, last moment there is kiosk.
Lots of small issues that can be resolved very quickly, but again focus is on advertisement with symbolic so called world class infra.
I voted for Modi Ji but I live in Panchkula, Haryana which requires a Metro project and is the best city in terms of education but traffic jams is Mohali IT sector, Chandigarh IT , and Panchkula IT PARKS Employees are struggling to reach Home to family on time Baddi, Zirakpur, Pinjor, Ambala, Panchkula and Mohali please have to struggle Everyday.
It was proposed to run a Metro Train service in Chandigarh, but the project was rejected due to commercial viability. Punjab and Haryana (apart from NCR) does not require an urban rapid transit at least till 2030.
