- Can a modified Fender Player Strat (made in Mexico) compete with an American made USA strat?
The three contestants are:
1. Fender Player Strat. YJM Pickups, Gotoh bridge, locking tuners
2. Fender Player HSS Strat. Fender Noiseless single coils, locking tuners
3. Fender USA Strat
They were all played through a Kemper Profiler using a Vox AC30 profile and a tubescreamer.
Which one do you think sounds the best?

I liked the player Strat, the noiseless pups are very good, clear and articulate, and the extra versatility of the humbucker in the bridge makes it my pick.
Yeah good points, hard to go past really

I think your player strats sound amazing and just as good as the American made, I like the maple wood more but the hss was too strong for jimi, but better suited for Nirvana. I'm just astonished that you can spend on a player and have virtually a American player experience
Personally, I liked them all, but I have a soft spot for stock pickups. Actually I'd have love the here the Player strat SSS with the stock Alnico Vs.
The American sounded best to me but it's hard to beat top notch pickups. I've been using Lindy Fralin pickups for years so I'm spoiled to great tone.
What is the humbucker?
I own them all and while the USA is the best of the options I have played gigs with the player series with no problem
Yep same here, Player series is absolutely good enough to gig with!
@@jessefildesmusic your a really great player. I enjoy all your videos. Killer tone and phrasing is on point. Awesome stuff.
@@bobbyruggs808 Thanks Bobby, appreciate the kind words! You playing in a band at the moment yourself?
@@jessefildesmusic yes, I play with 2 bands. One in Long Island NY and the other is just outside Philadelphia Pennsylvania. 55 and still rockin 🎸🍻
@@jessefildesmusic a guy I grew up with and played with over the years is now living in Melbourne and plays with a band called the Badloves. His name is Jeff Consi. A totaly killer drummer. The guitarist in the Badloves, James Ryan is an insanely good player too. Check them out if you haven't done so.
