Cold Fact
As a Capetonian, I agree. It's lovely here.😌🇿🇦❤️
Just fyi
South Africa has three capitals so that the balance of power is spread throughout the country.
Pretoria- Administrative capital
Cape Town - Legistlative capital
Bloemfontein - Judicial capital
👍
I started thinking and looking around the world for the most ideal spot for retirement. Ultimately, I chose CPT, purchased a house and was presently in the process of obtaining a PR for South Africa.. In my opinion, it is without question the most beautiful place in the world... Do realize, like everywhere in the world, there are problems in CPT. Drugs, homelessness, crime, etc, etc.. Nevertheless, in my circumstance South Africa is the best choice.. I hope not to become an expat, but an immigrant to SA.. I want to be part of this nation and spend my last few decades residing there..
It is a fantastic place
@@TwentythreeRGT Yes, totally agree..
You are a Liar !!!
Most beautiful place in the WORLD!!!😂😂😂
Have you ever been to the South Island of New Zealand??
Norway???
Russia??
China???
Alaska???
Canada ???
You chose SA because you can buy a R20mill mansion in Cape Town for $1mill ...which is small fry !!!
Stop justifying your choise with a lie...
I take your whole bulshit story with a pinch of salt !!!!
Left natal 30 years ago , got tied carrying my gun to the shops , friends house and work , love the cape
Yep gun is packed away living in the Cape, massive difference.
I grew up here still live here no problems if you have your head screwed on straight and dont take chances on the roads at night....just like any other town all over the world these days...just dont take stupid chances....welcome to Cape Town happy to have you 😊 just drive slow please 😅
I have learned to drive slow in Cape Town Over the years , In fact probably in the first year. Not much choice you just get used to it.
@@TwentythreeRGT 😂
Another wonderful place is The Garden Route.
Agree 😎
When last have you been to Knysna?
I've been to a lot of cities. Cape Town is in the top 3. Even the cANCer haven't been able to kill it, because the locals have always been smart enough not to vote for them. All of South Africa has issues, but it baffles me that any South African city lover would want to live anywhere but the Mother City.
Many are trapped by their work lives or just don't know.
I’m from Cape Town and yes although beautiful in many aspects, I personally love living in Rio de Janeiro more. Yes, Rio has its ills (similar to CT and most other cities around the world) but until you’ve visited Rio, only then could you possibly understand why I say what I said. I’ve visited Rio many times for this very reason and even lived there for a year. If I could go back tomorrow, I would be there yesterday. Despite all this, my family and friends refer to me as Cape Town’s biggest ambassador- which sounds like an oxymoron now, given my post 😂
@@Van_Wilder It's understandable that Rio would be up there on the list
Even the cANCer's president lives in DA cape town
My parents were held up in their house in sommerset west a few years ago. That happens all over trick is to just be vigilant and God willing you should be fine
Terrible when that happens , we should not have to live this way.
I just moved there earlier this year...
Our country is breathtaking.
Many whites have left because of the government's brutal BEEE - black empowerment policies and the overall decline of everything. Crime is high, but if you are vigilant and avoid certain areas, it's actually safer than many other places. Cape Town is just stunning, but there are even more beautiful places than gorgeous Cape Town. The people are the best though. Non radical South Africans are just the loveliest people. Nice to hear your story.
The majority of South Africans are non radical , the radicals seem to get into our heads.
So lovely to hear good things being said about our Country it is indeed really lovely here despite our problems im a proud South African living in Cape Town raised in Natal
😎👍

@😅truth-Hurts375
How can you visit Cape Town and not want to live there?
Exactly
Paradise one word
Every second car in Cape Town has a GP number plate. It used to be relaxed, but has become a second Pretoria East, and in fact a massive city where you spend your life stuck in single lane traffic ALL the time! But thanks to this dude, and all the people going ohhhh come to Cape Town, we will soon sit together on the same heap of hot trash. The expansion and development is next level and infrastructure cant cope. But hey lets immerse outselves in pics of Table Mountain, a wine farm or Camps Bay and pretend we actually spend more than 10 percent of our time there.
Yep huge semigration in progress.
Gordons bay, Somerset west, Stellenbosch area the new Pretoria East.
Dont get too comfortable bru. I live in tableview too and lately we are getting people entering homes at night and during the day and robbing homes. Neighbour accross the road got tied up and hit on the head and robbed in the middle of the day. 2pm. The guy that owns the junk shop on the corner of jansens and blaauwberg road got shot when locking up 2 months ago. A lady got stabbed 22 times on Gie road for her phone at peak time. Cars and people everywhere. Its still not so bad i guess but your criminals are following you to cape town from pretoria.
That was always the worry as the criminals do tend to follow.
@TwentythreeRGT ive lived in cape town my whole life. The last 10 years has been such a change. Black people were as scarce as coconut trees out here 30 years ago. I dont recognize where i am anymore. I even hace a zulu working for me now. I never even met a zulu until then. My other 3 guys are zimbabwean. Im not complaining, just telling you my observation on how cape town has changed. Up until about ten years ago i had never even met anyone from durban. I always imagined that was because durban was too nice. Now a lot of my customers are indians and other durbanites.
Agreed 💯 there's lots of crime - Capetonian
100% right. I visited Pretoria in September 2022 for the first time in about 40 years and was appalled. Like Durban, it has become a Third World nightmare. I moved from Westville, near Durban to Durbanville 20 years ago. Like moving to another country.
Yep totally
I stopped watching after the exaggerations about how bad Pretoria had become. We live in Pretoria and whilst it's no Cape Town, which incidentally has a much higher murder rate than Pretoria, are very happy here and it's still a beautiful city!
Ok that's great.
Yes! So does everyone! Just move to CT, we're full
We will make space 😎
Lots of space😂
❤
Just a correction. There are three Capital Cities in South Africa. Bloemfontein, Pretoria and Cape Town. 👍🏻
👍
And Masiphumelele is the new capital of Fish Hoek
South Africa has 3 Capitals. Pretoria, Cape Town and Bloemfontien.
Yep Pretoria being the only original Capital , the others were added and I don't mind , it's great.
I had to move due to financial reasons (Covid related to economy and jobs) and miss it every day.
Hope you can get back one day.
cape town wind adds to the charm :D
It's all about the nature of the people in Cape Town that makes everything so much better.
‘The Cape Doctor’ as I recall the wind being called.
From an ex-Capetonian.
Now living in PE ( Port Elizabeth ).
Plan to be back in the Western Cape soon again.

Thank you, welcome to the community.
i love my beautiful cape town ....right down to the stormy winters and all ! also lived in pretoria . right up till I left in 2021 I rally enjoyed myself in pretoria ... however the most exciting thing was coming back to CPT to breathable fresh air. i hated the dry air and the climate in general in Gauteng . other than that gauteng was a ball .
I must agree when I visit Gauteng the best part of my trip is coming home.
@@TwentythreeRGT haha and also I always used to brag about how awesome the wind in cape town was . I showed my colleagues videos of people trying to walk on the foreshore In cpt 🤣 they were always amazed. I did that when they used to say it windy in Pretoria.... Towards the end of my stay I also started complaining about the "wind " in Pretoria when it got a bit breezy 😆😆😆😆
Best winter this year in Pta, not as cold. Sunny every day.
Thank you. I miss my home town 😢
I would too, I miss this place even if I am away for a short time.
There are many charming places to live in South Africa - especially if you can live without a Woolies nearby . . .
There are definite charms in the smaller places - inland and along the cost.
We are watching many countries experience serious problems, so rather the devil you know.
Just emigrate to the Western Cape where everything works.
Yep
Thanks for your story...
Thanks for listening.
Living in monaco, 3 yrs now, sa,s very own the garden route.
Sounds nice
Yeah CT is ok, but it is also on the slide just like the rest of the country. The rate of decay is just much more gradual. Getting back to living here: I can handle the rain in winter, but the summers that are so dry is a problem. It is lovely to see the green lawns in winter, three months into summer and the lawns are all suffering. Water tariffs skyrocketed when we had the day zero scare a couple of years back and was never normalized again. So watering the garden is a no no for the working class. Fitting JoJo tanks is not an option, as it never gets enough water to make it worthwhile in summer. Although I did and now they are just white elephants. Traffic is and always will be a problem. Anybody else notice that stopping @ stop signs and the use of indicators is now optional, especially in residential areas.
We are all trying to work together to prevent the decay in CT and fix the rest of SA while we are at it.
I live in the Cape flats for my entire life. I been robbed once. Where you been living
All over the country but on the West Coast of CT for the last 10 Years
Pretoria was nice....did Military training...voortrekker👍
Pretoria used to be a fantastic town.
Voortrekker Hoogte, a military base I think
Loved Cape Town and the coast. Moving though is I imagine only a possibility for S Africans... I doubt any European can pitch up on command! Thanks
Everyone is welcome

Any tips for a foreigner planning on retiring in Cape Town?
Come and have a look and get a feel for the best area to stay in before moving. Once the choice is made its easy.
@@TwentythreeRGT I've been to CPT twice. Purchased investment property in Woodstock.. Looking at possibly Durbanville or Brackenfell..I'm not one for glitz and glamour, so nothing like Camp's Bay..No arrogance! Just a rather safe area with some amenities..
If you don't want to share the territory with Baboons and other wildlife and are not prepared to respect their ways, do not move here.
It's a shame that folk have such fear for their surroundings like in gauteng
True
There's lots of crime here dude, u must either be dreaming or very lucky!
There is crime everywhere it is just the extent of the crime in the different areas, Cape Town people have no idea what real crime really is, go north and you will come running home.
Pretoria run by the previous government was fantastic nowadays its a dump
.
Yep it has gone down a lot
Nah man, Cape Town is not what it's made out to be! The Town we live in, in the deep south is filthy dirty, the beach is just awful! Our neighbourhood watch advises everyone to invest in an alarm system and have security installed. It feels like the street people/drug addicts run this town, because the DA seems to have lost interest. Loads of potholes. Bloody expensive electricity. The malls are tiny. You've got to travel far on congested roads if you want to shop at Macro or need spares..... So stop talking 💩 and see the place for what it is. I'm going to start travelling further along the coast in all directions to see if it gets better than where we are. This is also the cruelest province I've lived in, with respect to our beautiful wildlife and domestic pets. People who are thinking of semigrating, should try and stay here for at least 3 to 6 months before making a permanent move.
What area do you stay in cause that is not the Cape Town I Know. Electricity cost is caused by the national government and Eskom not Cape Town. If you have to travel far to shop you live in the wrong area, I can walk to all those stores. As far as wildlife goes people in Cape Town respect wildlife and pets much more than anywhere else in the country from what I have seen? I have lived in the other towns and I know the difference. Just for information Cape Town was recently voted as the second best city in the world behind New York. Everyone I know who has moved here is happy and does not regret their move.

Durban the best
I think you got that the wrong way around I have only had a pleasant experience meeting people in Cape Town , In fact even people helping you in the shops are nice, not grumpy and giving you dirty looks for shopping there like in Gauteng.
@@Stormer-Europa Durban used to be nice but I did not enjoy my last trip there , I think Durban has lost it as well.
