    Great video! I have one of these exact safes. But it is very thoroughly bonded inside a low fixed cupboard shelf. So a magnet cannot be used. But didn't know how cheap and nasty they were inside! Or that that pick tool is so readily available. By the way, that is one hefty magnet

    drop the safe on the floor wile turning the knob. The impact will cause the pin in the solenoid to drop releasing the latch.

    mr. jolly peanut sir. can it really open all safes? i mean there are large safes that the solenoid is in the middle and not in the bottom. i dont think the magnet can still pull them, even if it is rate earth magnet. it would be great if you could demonstrate larger safes.

    • @JollyPeanut
      @JollyPeanut  Před 5 lety +5

      I never said it can open all safes although it can open quite a few types of solenoid safes as well as some other types of electronic & magnetic locks. I am not going to buy a larger safe just to make a video to prove it i don't need to there are already other videos out there on this subject .Here is a link from a guy doing just that on a larger Sentry safe and i can confirm it does work on these Sentry safes...czcams.com/video/ApJQ2wcYjBo/video.html

    I have a S0500 Sentry safe, # AA-a476149* I don't use hardly ever because it just has old family pictures in it. I forgot the combo, And have tried a 500 lb Magnet going all around the handle . Still don't open it, were exactly should I put the magnet? Oh also it is mounted inside the bottom of cabinet that's more the the price of the safe. Please Help me. Tanks

  • @DonzLockz

    I think I have seen this done on a different brand safe but same concept. A stronger spring may help but that tubular lock would also need to be upgraded. I need to get me a stronger magnet.😁🍺😎🇦🇺

  • @markw1232
    @markw1232 Před 3 lety +3

    Get some strips of rubber and place it under where the magnet would go, also attach a piece of aluminum against the door and reattach the plunger. The magnet no longer opens the safe.

    • @JollyPeanut
      @JollyPeanut  Před 3 lety +1

      That would probably work to stop the magnet but it will not stop the lock picking which takes seconds to open one of these type safes, probably better to just use a more secure safe if you value what you keep in it.

    You're the 10th YT channel I've seen using the lock pick tool. I ordered them I can't get it to work. It won't open the safe, won't open a cheap cabinet I have for storing paint and kick knacks, it won't open the tool box or any other lock I have that is tubular. Every channel literally shows just sticking it in and a little wiggle and done. Tried with 7 tensioning bands down to 0 tensioning bands. Either I am missing something or I have a defective set. Any hints or tricks on the use of the lockpick set?

    • @JollyPeanut
      @JollyPeanut  Před 2 lety +1

      OK first i do not know yr lockpicking skill level i assume your starting out which is cool we all start at step one... Like any lock pick set it taks a ton of practice before you start popping locks. When i first used a tubular lock pick set i could not open locks with it either but in time it comes , watch lots of unedited videos. Tension is key light tension lighter better. The tubular pick set will not open all tubular locks ,learning which locks it will open also takes time and practice, keep practicing light tension..good luck

      @@JollyPeanut Thanks for the tip I will give it a try. My skill level is somewhere below rank amateur. meaning I have never picked a lock in my life. I saw so many vids of the Huk set being used and literally opening locks in seconds. It isn't quit like that. It more like...try, reset the pins, try again. take a bands off, try again, cuss a bit, try some more and repeat the process with the same results LOL

    Hi. I picked up a Browning Prosteel gun safe for $50. They lost the combination. I figured it is worth trying to open and install a new manual lock instead of the electronic.
    Any suggestions??

    • @JollyPeanut
      @JollyPeanut  Před 5 lety +1

      I know they use S&G mechanical locks on some of their safes but i have not worked on those. Maybe worth contacting Browning I am sure many people have forgotten there combination.

    • @rickallmightyjones6189
      @rickallmightyjones6189 Před 5 lety

      Jolly Peanut I am curious if this method with the magnet might work. Browning isn’t very helpful and apparently there is no master reset code for the S&G

    • @JollyPeanut
      @JollyPeanut  Před 5 lety +1

      @@rickallmightyjones6189 Magnets only sometimes work on digital electronic locks and to stand a chance you would need a more powerful magnet than the ones i have , if your safe has the mechanical lock the magnet method will not work. Some local locksmiths do work on these locks they may drill a small hole to open it which can be easily repaired, get a quote first if you go this route.

    • @rickallmightyjones6189
      @rickallmightyjones6189 Před 5 lety

      Jolly Peanut Thank you, we only have one locksmith and his minimum fee is $350 plus the lock replacement so it’s not a good option. I am going to try and find tutorials on drilling it myself. It’s worthless right now anyway

    • @JollyPeanut
      @JollyPeanut  Před 5 lety +1

      When you drill the hole it is critical it has to be in the correct place to within a few mm to allow the lock to be manipulated from the inside, it is a tricky job but worth a try..Good luck.
