This is the best jazz movie ever made.
There’s not many are there?
Absolutely ❤
One of the best and saddest movies I have ever seen.
Beautiful song, beautiful movie, beautiful musician. Love you Dexter.
Listening to Don't Explain, And Where Are You, today, so beautiful, and of course Love For Sale
I went to this movie in an artsie theater when in University. Made me fall in love even more with Jazz
Someone needs to upload the entire movie! Thanks!
makes me weep like a slobbering baby every time. 😭
Francis, there is not enough kindness in the world........
Beautiful tune...
1:49, crack me up watching Hubbard look at Gordon, WT? then smiles, they got the same charts but Gordon is playing his way lol... well it looked that way.
Dexter Gordon recorded a lot with Freddie Hubbard.
The score of the film was complosed by Herbie Hancock who likewise appeared on Round Midnight.
killing me softly with this song !!
A great movie , about the greatest tenor!
Fantastic...
His Name is in the opening credits
" Director " as of this masterpiece of film document!
Great!!!!
LOVELY SONG
Repose en Paix, Bertrand Tavernier
The United States greatest art.
Fuck you spammer serena
The music is US deep art indeed at its best but the movie is French cinema also at its best as the director is Bertrand Tavernier, one of the best film directors ever, as many of his movies are masterpieces.
Stevie wrote lyrics to it later
@gnembhard
Actually Freddie is playing flegelhorn on this cut.
大好きなデクスターゴードンが映像で見る事が出来る貴重な映画。
そして、大好きな映画。
それにしても豪華なメンバーだなぁ。
@rodrigozuniga45 - I stand corrected, Freddie Hubbard on the fluegelhorn
Nobody has noted that the guy with the beard at the beginning of the scene is Martin Scorsese...ahahah
Yes, I did
Ya gotta it!
Nice indeed. Tavernier surely had a lot of good friends.
I did.. he loves this cameos every now and then
Thank you, I was looking for this comment
Ditto!
There were some jazz legends in this movie.
Dexter Gordon - Sax
Cedar Walton - Piano
Freddie Hubbard - Trumpet
Ron Carter - Bass
Tony Williams - Drums
Sadly, they've all passed on. Cedar Walton is the only remaining.
No. Ron and Herbie are still here 2018
ron is alive and active to this date!
Ron's still here!
it's actually written by Herbiw Hancock
@gnembhard
Sorry for the typo. I meant fluegelhorn. But beautiful nonetheless....
Cedar died this month
I'm sorry but Dexters' sax is do doleful that when Freddie comes in, it feels like a weight has been lifted! Love the movie, studied with Carter for a few years, and ultimate respect for Gordon as a player. No disrespect intended. Heard the McFerrin/Hancock performance too! Love the song...especially cuz its raining today. Oh, but back to Dexters' sax...............!
フレディ・ハバードいますね
Society red
Does anybody know who is the drummer in this set?
Tony Williams
