FIFA why do you insist on having only 2:10 of highlights, games like these have so much more happing in them. You missed the spitting thing, the push on the referee, the drama from the two offside var decisions and the foul at the end.

They’d be called racist if they did that to Cameroon

Simply the most entertaining game of football I have EVER seen. It had:
- Goals
- Spitting
- Players who didn't know the rules
- An Assault on the referee
- A 10 minute time out meltdown period
- The manager coming on to give his players cuddles because they were crying
- Thuggish fouls
It was absolutely superb
And only 2 of these are in the highlights

@benvolio mozart 🤡🤡🤡
@benvolio mozart You're looking at the wrong player you muppet. A player can only be offside when the ball is passed to them. FIFATV, where's the footage of the two times the Cameroonians practically went on strike? Where's the footage of the incompetent referee not controlling the pitch? Where's the final foul? These things were the talking points of the game, so to get a good image of the match you should show them.

Reading all the comments that still blaming VAR decision for justification of Cameroonian players behavior sickens me. Can't some people just realized that trying to break opponents leg and spiting on them were just plain wrong? As neither European nor African and was rooting for Cameroon at the start as the underdog but their behavior were completely unacceptable. Cameroon were somewhat unlucky with those 2 offside incident as both were close but it was 100% correct decision from VAR. I hope those people who still blaming VAR saw through their bias and have some sympathy for the English player that got stamp on. Thumps up for England for keeping their calm through out the game.
Yes. Disappointing to see people defending Cameroon's behaviour.
People who are saying the ref should have allowed the goal by the Cameroon player who was offside by a few inches should rewatch the Italy vs Australia game a week ago. Italy was offside by an elbow and the goal was disallowed. An offside is an offside.
Elbows and arms don't count though for offsides. But today VAR was correct.

I like VAR for big decisions, but I hate these "backpass" and "keeper foot off the line" calls. For me, the Cameroon goal was onside, and the backpass was just a point of confusion. The player blocks the cross, and the keeper collects it. VAR has a long way to go, and should be reduced to stuff that really matters.
Dude that back pass rule has been in game for a long time
They can't allow it, due to "confusion"
After the match, I saw an interview of a Cameroon player. She was so angry about the "unfairness" that they had suffered.
But I do hope they will settle down to watch the entire match record in these days, understand the latest rules in detail and most importantly, learn to repect their opponents and referees.

Lokwutor Sunday but that also hurting themselves by wasting time when they could have used the time that was wasted to keep calm and keep pushing forward, they could have tied the game 2-2 before England could scored a 3 but no they overacted and that caused them to lose momentum and losing momentum can affect how you play.
Fair comment. Overall inconsistency of calls and they "gray areas" that FIFA has created throughout the event contribute to the emotions in this match. But the Cameroon players needed to be more disciplined. Bc they were surely the more creative, individually skilled group. Bright future for them I think.
Lay Lay you’re 2 down, which is difficult to come up, you score a goal and been refused after the first one was also denied, how will you behave? Is easy to stay calm, when you’re not in that position.

This World Cup has been something else. That Cameroon goal was not offside. This VAR is really hurting the game. All famous World Cup moments from years ago were just extraordinary because there was only the referees to judge a play. VAR is ruining the magic of football and the World Cup.

No, that Cameroon goal was offside VAR got it right for once.
Me being American with all my family tree Mexican i know how it feels to screwed over in a football match by a referee's decision at World Cup 2010 and 2014 but you learn that this is what makes the game magic. The fact that your team could be eliminated by one man's mistake. A lot of World Cup Moments were made because of referee decisions. With VAR those moments would never exist.

Was that really a back pass though? I feel Fifa deliberately gives decisions to the favourites. Just look how easy and predictable these decisions are for the refs...sigh
@Nick Martin it was a missed control on the defender's side...watch the reaction carefully
There is literally no debate as to whether it was a back pass. It was back pass. Rules say it is an offence, therefor it's a free kick for England. I watched the match on Spanish TV (neutral) and they never doubted for a second it was a back pass and free kick for England.
Idk why the keeper didn’t just volley it.. thing bounced perfectly that a good keeper could have kicked the ball out the field lengthwise.
@Nick Martin try not to give your point of view with favoritism. Look at the action carefully, she runs towards the ball before noticing that the goalkeeper was coming. The action could be argued but why was the VAR not used then?
