    Jack Daniel's Distillery has always had a special room dedicated to Nathan "Nearest" Green.

    I am really excited to see this review. I’ve had the 1820 and I must say it is the one to cherish because of its limited availability. I recently received my second bottle of 1820 and I will not open it until I receive another because it’s just that good and I would like to have it sit for a while longer.
    Great review gentlemen!!!

    I've been drinking this for a lil over a year now and it has become my favorite whisky (1884 and 1856). I've yet to hear about the 1820 until now and now you got me looking for some bottles of it. I really enjoyed your video and you just got a subscriber.

    If it is true , that he was not mentioned until recently that is unfortunate . A book was written in 2004 about Nearest's involvement in the Jack Daniels History. Fawn did not discover this. But she certainly turned it into a business.

      You should know the Black Americans were the ones who created whiskey from Kentucky and Tennessee but never got the credit which we deserve. How come It took until 2004 for his name to be mentioned at all? You must be a small minded privileged white boy who goes around lying to the whole world about the history of bourbon.

    • @WhiskeyWars
      @WhiskeyWars Před 2 lety +1

      @@MuhammadAli-yv6od - What did I say that was a lie ? Also what did I say that makes me small minded. The privileged white boy thing is cute. If you knew anything about my life , you would realize how incredibly stupid that statement is. You are aware that you can be racist even if you are not white ? I would say that you are doing a good job of displaying that racism.
      With a name like Muhammad Ali , I guess I should expect racism though. You chose a name , just like Cassius Clay did , of two of the biggest racist slave owners the world has ever seen.

    I truly enjoyed this review and every review of Uncle Nearest whiskeys. First because of the storyline I read up on it. And the facial expressions you two gentlemen have when tasting is I know it's been a minute since I've left some comments. But I will be catching back up on your videos.

    Whats up, fellas. I was just out ar the stillary last week to week took a sneak peak a tour of it. They're doing big things over there.. I met some people up in the distillery who had a lot of input I picked up the new label you label for Uncle NEAREST. We'll be going back in September for the heart opening of the distillery.

    Love the vibe you guys bring to WhiskeyTube. Good review. Would love to find this in Texas. Y'all do something that no one else does, setting up and tasting with ice. Hope you can add some microphones so we can hear more of your voices and less of the room echo. Would love to see you collaborate with ADHD Whiskey or Bourbon Judge or Bourbon Junkies.

    For a young company, part of the price is going to be reinvested to refining the product. And for a product that truly takes 5-12 years to do right, it's going to have some kinks to iron out. I wouldn't compare that $130 bottle to a $130 bottle from an established company. Cause as the Flag Ship, part of that money is an investment into building the brand, refining the product, possibly even buying equipment to do it all in house.

    Hey guys, we just reviewed Uncle Nearest 1884 and 1856 on our (german) youtube channel. I was confused cause in Germany these products look like being Tennessee Whiskey which they`re not right? Is the UN you´re drinking a Whiskey from the distillery itself? Sounds like it is sourced as well since its 11 years old. The other bottlings are sourced right? Would be super interesting to see a tasting of a whiskey made in the distillery.

    • @JonesNMann
      @JonesNMann  Před rokem

      Until recently, all UN juice was sourced. It was still distilled (by a local distillery)and overseen by UN (in TN).

      Lots of people do that especially with higher proof whiskies. I do too, and it’s amazing how just a few drops can bring out some smells and flavors that you don’t get unadulterated out of the bottle.
