- The White Rim Trail in Canyonlands National Park is 100 miles of pure desert beauty. I brought my girlfriend Amelia Boone this time around and she LOVED it...for the most part :)

Let's hear it for Amelia on her FIRST 100 MILE MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE!
MTB is the best thing in this world 👍
Epic!
Way to go!
LOVE YOU!
Amelia you were epic on this ride! Doing 100 on flat road is tough enough, but to do your first 100 off-road is amazing. Huge props!!
Appreciate all kind comments! Despite my tears, I had an absolute blast and so fortunate Ryan helped guide me through it. I’m a crier - “crushing and crying” should probably the title of my memoir 😂
Wow! I thought the crying before the downhill was kind of a joke to add some drama/ humor to the video. Kudos to you for finishing the ride and facing those fears head on!
I’m buying the “Crushing and Crying” memoir no doubt! Lol
I just found Ryan's channel So I don't know his full menu or agenda. For you to take on that ride as one of your first - is epic. I hope you're able to get on the saddle soon.. You're a Crusher !!
Ryan is a funny man.
New montra
No Flatty's, No crashies, No sore Assies...
Keep inspiring amiga!
You did amazing
Wow, 100 miles in one day 😮. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 and exactly, just because Ryan does it. Doesn’t mean it’s easy. Great job on finishing the trail.
This one should be called “how to lose a great girl in one century”. Ryan is an adventure biker rockstar but Amelia is a true stud to charge that ride. Great job, you two! I hope you had some fun on that one!
Haha!! I like that title :)
😂😂😂 thank you!!
This one cracks me up. So many points where Ryan realizes this was a bad idea. Kudos to Amelia for dealing with it like a champ. You see the full range of the competitive athlete mentality.
I was thinking the same thing. 75 to 100 miles (RAGBRAI) on smooth pavement is one thing and hard enough. 100 miles in dirt going up and down mountains would be death for me. It is one heck of an accomplishment for Amelia being new to that kind of cycling. Her never quit mentality was an inspiration.
@@HackHunter1835 i tried a 100 mile mtb race once, and it did not go well. I just rode a little under 2 hours on a backcountry trail last week and I was cooked.
@@Chris-pw7ov I hear ya. I hate riding in dirt. (sand) Laid the bike down a few times on backwoods trails. I had enough of that. I dont mind climbing paved hills, but watching Ryan and Amelia do that ALL day gave chest pains.
@@HackHunter1835 haha I definitely was questioning life decisions with the sand 😂
I have done the White Rim 3 times now, but as 3 day 2 night or 4 day 3 night just for fun and beers at night. That said, every trip, I have seen folks riding it as a day trip. It's doable for sure, fitness and prep being key.
Amelia "this is what sane people do" Too funny. Love it that Amelia's glasses and helmet match. Too cute.
Type 2 fun = sucks while it's happening, great memories when you think back. You are such a trooper, Amelia. I've been riding bikes for 10 years and wouldn't dare attempt this in one day. Ryan always pushing limits. What a way to live life. I hope you two grow old together..it would make for the most epic of journeys.
Thats type B lol
@@sebastianwhalin743 Nah. Type B is when it sucked and when you think back you'd never do something like it again.
@@sebastianwhalin743 You both are wrong, its Type 2 fun😀
@@cmcjvcltcbmc hah. I think you’re right. I’ll edit.
Thanks, I hope so too! Ryan is an incredible athlete and I saw that when I was hurting pretty bad 🤣
Met Ryan the other day at the skate park. He was personable, and treated this noob as if he was just another rider. Dude’s a total stud, but acts like a normal person. Kudos.
My man!! Meeting you yesterday was the highlight of my day. I hope to see you again at Valmont.
Y’all must be part camel. If I had 4 liters, 100 miles, and thousands of feet of climbing, I’d run out of water by mile 50 on a perfect day for riding with temps in the 60’s.
This brings back memories of my first lap on White Rim 20 years ago on a cheap Gary Fisher mountain bike. I did it in a day, solo and carried 5 liters of water and still ran out with 25 miles to go. Fortunately, some campers showed mercy and tanked me up. Last year, I went again, but camped 3 nights and took it slow to enjoy it. Great vid!
I rode this route over 4 days and 3 nights with a group. We had a permit for camping. The permits make sense, because it gives each group a lot of privacy and quiet. While the riding is fun, the camping was even better. It is so quiet at night and the stars were unbelievable. I think they missed the point. You can go ride 100 miles on dirt roads anytime. The White Rim is a very special experience at night.
Sand is tough! Engaging in one's fears without the option to run away is tough! So proud of you two-this is a big relationship gateway you just (biked) through.
It was a day for growth on many levels for both of us
Hopefully Amelia had some shorter rides in preparation for this epic adventure.....some 25 milers, some 40 milers, some 60 milers. Hopefully she has not been soured on doing something like this again. What a beautiful landscape! Thanks for sharing! Thank you, Ryan. And especially thank you, Amelia for being such a trooper. Watching Ryan is how I found the Priority 600X. I've had mine for a year and a half. Love it every time I'm in the saddle. Be well.
Well,…… that was awesome! Really loving the Ryan +Amelia Van Booner combo! You two are fun to watch together and we hope this becomes a “Priority” 😊 👍👍 Ryan on the edit and Amelia for hanging in there! Inspiration plus!
I like the way you think! :)
Ryan and Amelia's excellant adventure!! For a newbie mtn bike rider she held her own even when she knew she had to work through a fear of heights but she aced it way to go Amelia!! The views were incredible! :) :)
And now she’s hooked!
Wow, that’s hardcore taking your good lady on a 160km ride through the desert. I hope she still wants to be around you after that mission!
She'll just crush him on a long endurance run to return the favor!!!
Makes me love him more 😉

This was amazing to watch both of you achieve this ride. Congratulations to Amelia for overcoming the pain and stress of your ride. You are an inspiration for women to follow. Thank you Ryan for sharing your adventures. May you both always find within yourselves what truly matters in life and share many years of happiness together.😇
Thank you, Ms Marie
Hope Amelia found her car keys! Also, what an adventure she just went on. Can't imagine riding 100 miles any time, but that trail... Shows her incredible athleticism. Thanks for sharing the good and the challenging, Ryan. Keeping it real as always.
What a day of riding. Beautiful country, beautiful bike and a beautiful lady to ride with. Living the dream. Take care, Al
It was indeed a dreamy day!
Watched all the way to the end because I know what it’s like to be on a Moab trail when the sun goes down. For me it was a little scary, but I was less well prepared (only dark glasses and no headlights) but I felt you edited out the 3 hours of really tough going in the sand after dark. It must have been very, very difficult. Gutsy ride. Thanks for letting us share it with you.
Thanks Stan for watching the entire video…I actually didn’t film much after dark, mainly because I wanted to focus on the task at hand and make sure that Amelia felt comfortable.
The sound of that bell goes to the middle of my head...so epic...thank you for sharing this with the world!
I agree, it has a nice sound
Both of y'all crushed it! Way to stick with it like champs!! Amelia, fantastic work! Around the 70 mile mark, I think we could all feel the change in your attitude for a bit but you bounced back and finished with a giant smile after all the challenges. You both are definitely inspiring. I'm getting closer and closer to getting myself one of those sweet Priority 600X's. ;)
It was a rollercoaster of a day, and although finishing in the night wasn’t planned, it was a highlight.
Thank you! I’ve done enough long stuff to know emotions come in waves out there - a high will follow the low!
Ryan is the epidomy of positivity. Congrats to both of you for completing that journey.
Thanks! We had so much fun
Ryan has tremendous energy , that’s a fact !!!
I love her enthusiasm and also that she is gorgeous
What a great ride! Amelia did amazing on the 100-mile White Rim Trail ... way to go.
Amelia I totally loved your honesty with yourself and humility but look at what you did! Nice work!
Thank you!!
Amelia a fear of heights is something you can get past simply by doing what you did, and not letting it hold you back. I'm 62 and was an aircraft mechanic with Delta Airlines for 32 years, which required being able to work up high, but when I was a kid even 12 years old, had a really difficult time jumping down even six feet. You're a trooper and a beautiful lady. I'd never heard of you before watching Ryan's video, and so looked you up....... My God what a life of accomplishments you're living..... I'm blown away ! You're a stunner and an inspiration. The world is a much better place with you here. God Bless and keep you safe in your adventures, Amelia Admiringly, Greg
Aw thank you!!
Great video and well done to you both, especially Amelia. I know she's an athlete already, but 100miles off road after only a few months riding. Amazing.
Thanks!! I definitely learned it’s a different skill set!!
It is stunning visually!!! Great Job Amelia, face fears, and putting up with Ryan...(LOL)😘
😂😂
What an incredible person, what a beast of an athlete, Amelia. One sees her pain and fatigue written all over her face yet she pushes through. Amazing.
Thank you!!
Wow! Beautiful location. And, double wow that Amelia was struggling. She was top of the food chain in OCR! This lady knows what it takes for endurance sports.
Haha thank you! I think I underestimated what a different skill set this is! But just like OCR, it gets easier the more you do it!
Thank YOU so much for sharing these experiences with all of us!
Wow. 33 miles left and she still found it in her to finish after being completely spent. I know the feeling (of feeling completely exhausted). The ability to finish is what’s called mental resilience. Great job guys! I hope I have the same resilience for my first Ultra this weekend!
Excellent video footage of your epic mountain biking adventures!
OMG ! Accomplishment!!! Go Amelia! Great work as always Ryan!
What a fantastic route! Great job!
Great video and well done Amelia! That’s some type two fun right there! 👍🏻👍🏻
Looks awesome. Good experiences, great memories :) Wish I had such roads in my country
Awesome vid and brings back such great memories of riding WR with my wife in 2016!
Well done Amelia! Awesome achievement. And great video Ryan.
Amazing. Beautiful. Spectacular. Thank you Ryan. Great job Amelia. I like that title for your memoir. Adventures usually require challenge
Thank you for being the inspiration I needed today. I am proud of Amelia and always so happy to be here with your positivity, Ryan.
Thank you!!
Congrats to both of you and I think Amelia should be very proud of her accomplishment. Awesome trip for sure!!!
Amelia you are one amazing young lady. Great job, both of you, and such a beautiful place to ride.
You guys Rocked It!!! Well done Amelia, that’s an incredible Grit!!! 💪🔥🔥🔥
I love seeing the the White rim trail. I live in the great white north , and now in my seventies I'll probably never see it in person so video's like this are great. I live in a completely different enviornment and the SW has always intrigued me BUT the most impressive thing about this video is how Amelia did this trail , facing her fears, not having allot of experience, and pushed through. Good job. Thanks as always Ryan for the great video's. I was out yesterday, maybe the last ride before snow, time to put the studded tires on.
Thanks for your videos and positive energy. Just started watching with my wife and we love them. Have adventured for many a year since now 62 and hope to keep going. Lived most of life in co springs but looking to change the pace by moving up to boulder county most likely. Will miss scenery of the springs and great mountain access but ready for a change since nearing retirement. Anyway great videos and keep it up.
Ryan's energy and positivism make me want to get out there... always watch his content as it is refreshing and inspiring 😊
Beautiful. This is a GREAT video. Way to push it Amelia. Also you are so encouraging Ryan.
I feel you, Amelia! Those cliffs and drop offs are breathtaking and dizzying. That is some challenging terrain whether you hike, run, or bike. Awesome effort!!!!
Congratulations Ryan and Amelia! This is an amazing video and truly an awesome accomplish to ride the 100 mile White Rim Trail in a single day. Love your positive attitudes to the end with a lapst now and then in the sand and on the hills. Best wishes for a fantastic Fall and Winter season.
Thanks, Rob! Finishing in the dark was actually pretty cool. We were lucky that it didn’t get cold
Awesome ride, great encouragement and determination. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you, thank you, thank you Amelia for sharing your vulnerability. It encourages me more than you know. Because of Ryan's videos, my husband and I started riding together a couple of years ago, finding that touring is what we like to share (I have found that I am not a huge fan of MTB). My heart felt your tears for I have been there, finding my breaking points. I am not as fit or as young as you and Ryan are. So to see a healthy, active strong young woman that you are, hitting your wall, I am encouraged. I will not be riding the White Rim any time soon (if ever). But Ragbrai, STP and a coast to coast are on our lists. I have yet to do a century ride, 65 is my longest day. That is my next goal. Thanks Ryan for your videos!
What I love about this video is the reality that Amelia brought to the difficulty of the ride. You both are amazing and Ryan you supported her so well. Great job to both of you!! ❤❤🎉🎉🎃🎃
Was so waiting for a vid like this! Love the dynamic of you two! Ryan, have you ever thought of filming a workout or event more in Amelia’s genre? that would be amazing too!
Thanks! And yes, I'd love to try an OCR Race someday
Awesome you two. I've done some of this on my motorcycle, I've done a few century bicycle rides, But 100 miles by bike in Canyon Lands in one day, WOW ! Thanks for sharing I enjoyed watching.
That was EPIC - Amelia, you crushed it - same height phobia (or falling to death phobia) - but you did it! And amazing video footage as always Ryan. Still both smiling and loving life at the end (omg, is that the CAR 😁😁) Well done Team xx
That bell is dope. I Googled it - now I see how it can be a Bday present. That's nuts. That thing needs its own lock.
Nice job guys! Hoping to do that with my son in the spring as part of Tour Divide training! Keep up the good work.
That would be great training for the GDMBR!
Fabulous ride along, thanks.
The 100% always positiveness from both of you, especially from Amelia saying she loved sand while completely whooped is a mind-binder of unequal quality and character 💪.
👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Beautiful area…I can totally relate to Amelia’s fear of heights. Another great video Ryan!
Great job Emelia!!! Kudos to you!!! Hope to be seeing you in Ryan's future videos!! Keep up the great biking!!! 🌎🚴
Nature is so beautiful!! awesome video and great job pushing through Amelia
It's stunning down there!!
Thank you!!
I love the desert 🏜️ ! Thanks for taking us along. 🌵🥰
Thanks for joining the fun, virtually
Man she is a golden catch, Ryan.. Love it! - Greetings from Denmark 🙌
Loved it! The desert is my happy place also!
You did such a great job editing this one and you both look great out there
Thanks! I really enjoyed putting this video together.
I maintained the vault toilets on the White Rim for a couple of years and drove it hundreds of times. Great video, it's been a few years since I was there so this brought back a lot of memories.
Kudos, Amelia! I felt it when you said you bit more than you can chew because I have done quite a lot cycling local routes. It is worth it in the end though. And Ryan the man! Your positivity is insane! 👏👏👏
Fabulous! Been wanting to do the White Rim forever. Couldn’t do it in a day tho… love the film, the chemistry, the struggle. You two make me smile!
I hope that you get to experience it someday!
Good Morning Ryan. Excited to chill and watch your show.
Hope you enjoy it
Think this is my second time watching you do the White Rim ride. Amazing photos and ride. Congrats to Amelia for toughing it out! Pretty sure I'd need a ride out in a jeep.
Thanks for watching all my white rim exploits
amazing ride! Im happy for you guys. Also excited for your next ride together.
Beautiful views! Thanks Ryan and Amelia.
Great video guys! Inspiring.
well done to you both that was a hard but rewarding ride, thanks for the video
Wow awesome video. I am sure many of us at one time or another, have pushed through a physical ordeal once or many times. You are correct that you do bond with the person that you do it with. Helping and encouraging one another is the best way to get through. Pushing the weaker ( like the saddle or carry extra weight) person in times of weakness is the way to go. You should both finish totally spent the same amount! Four liters of water was far less than you should have had, you were fortunate to be given some! As my wifey says a little danger is ok as long as it all works out. Keep riding.
Amelia inspired me so much!!!!
I’m a fairly new biker as well and she has given me courage! I love her positive attitude. Thanks for sharing.
My friend is from Utah! She told me about the off-road trails. Thanks for sharing this ride with us 😁 the areal view gives a great perspective brother 👍.
Great Job Amelia!,Ryan,this is one great video,what a place!!😃👌
Amelia is such a trooper and Ryan so positive and encouraging. Enjoyed watching your adventure!!!
Thanks!! She did great out there!
One of your best videos ever Ryan, incredible scenery and 2 amazing human beings getting to enjoy it together despite the tough parts👍
Thank you! I really like how this one came together in the edit
Awesome video Duzer, and Amelia you are awesome keep it up....
Thanks!! We loved the experience
Way to go Amelia, hahahaha I get a little tearful when I get over tired too. Ryan this was an amazing video I loved the scenery and cant wait to ride it myself...as always Thanks ❤
Criers of the world unite!!
Absolutely everything about this video was beautiful!
I'm relatively new to this channel but have been watching a lot of your videos. On lunch breaks or weekends when I'm not too busy. You're living my dream life. You're so lucky also to have found someone who shares your passion in life. Love your videos bro. Can't wait for my vacation days so I can get out there and make some of my own
I wish you all the best on your future adventures!!!
what a beautiful ride
Ryan, I love your videos. You are so encouraging. If I was cycling with you, your encouragement would push me to new heights of accomplishment. Thank you for being you. Keep going my friend.
Thank you, Peter! Maybe someday I'll see you out there on the open road
Love the new video. Keep’em coming.
This was such a great video! Ryan you and Amelia have such a good energy, it’s beautiful brother👍🙏
Grateful I found your channel, I find it very uplifting
Thanks! I’m glad that you found my channel as well. Stay tuned for more
Amazing landscape and I love the colour of the sand and the mountains there.
It's a beautiful area!!
Wow! Way to go guys! Way to go Amelia! Great job to the both of you! My wife and I just took a 4 day guided trip on the White Rim two weeks ago, we just missed you guys. Such a beautiful and amazing place especially in October! The Sand was so challenging, nothing like pedaling to go down hill, LOL. Thanks so much for the video and great job as always on your content and the way you bring the rides to life. Blessings to you both!
So cool that you got to experience this epic route!
As usual, another great video. What a delightful riding partner! Amelia's awesome!
Thank you!
One of the best videos yet! Great job buddy!
Thanks, my man! I hope that you get to experience this area someday
I remember seeing Amelia at Spartan Races back in the day. She's a Beast and the Golden Gal of OCR, then injuries. Great to see her in the video. Great Video Ryan!!
I didn't know her back then, but I've heard stories. She is indeed a beast!
Awesome, epic ride! Ryan you are the eternal encourager! Amelia- you are so fun, athletic and so nice , keep smiling - you ROCKED the ride!!!🥰🥰🥰❤️✅
Man Ryan, you are blessed to have found Amelia! What a jewel! All the best you two!
Stepped up your editing game on this one! Fantastic cuts and music! Love your story telling.
Thanks! I loved putting this one together
Great video,made my day! thanks
Amelia you’re a badass. Officially impressed. Hope to see you both on ragbrai next year
That's hilarious! I remember dropping off the shuttle vehicle at Mineral Bottom before our 70 mile Green River paddle, seeing the mountain bikers riding up and saying, "Wouldn't want to do that on a bike." hahaha
Haha!! Rafting the Green is so nice
I'm with you, absolutely beautiful area and so worth the reasonable drive from the Front Range...but I'd have to say hiking around Escalante/Grand Staircase tops it.
