There are some items that are ubiquitous with some Pokémon too, weakness policy is kind of coalossal's whole thing. Eviolite porygon2/ chansey, focus sash for fast frail mons, the herbs have niches too. The mental herb to ignore taunt on stuff that sets up Hazards, I seriously don't get how this is a bad idea. I want to see this video!
I like this idea, but they should remove the straight up bad abilities from the list. No truant, slow start, and so on. Also, randomly assigning abilities to all three starters without seeing them before the opponent picks would be super fun
The person should have a pool of abilities they have to pick from, otherwise you could just go: Heavy Metal Defeatist Slow Start Truant Illuminate Plus Three negative abilities, two useless abilities, and one ability only used for damage calculation in like 3 moves. I also like the idea that you would have to give someone huge power or something like that, So you could try to predict a Pokemon with a high special attack.
And at least 1-2times, your opponent HAS to give you a broken ability, but they don’t know which one. They could give a legendary a broken ability, or give one to lachonk

The fire is said to burn anything that it touches, but on certain occasions trainers can touch the flames without being burned. Ability: flame body/ sheer force. Move: Chosen Flare: 50 Base power, 20 PP, 100% Accuracy: this moves power doubles if the target is burned.

What they should do is buff amlamllama and make luvdisk evolve into it. It wouldn't be a great evo line... but at least it would be something, and make sense

the goldfish you win at carnivals are usually pet store feeder goldfish, or from the same supplier. Pat’s goldfish died in two weeks because goldfish need specific tank set ups for them to live their full 20-30 year lifespan

You then pick 6 random starters, and you fill your bingo board with the attributes of the starter chosen. The first one to get a bingo gets to put any ability on one of his pokemon.
I have an idea for a "and then we battle." Your opponent gets to know exactly what Pokémon are on the screen but you get to randomize the positions of each Pokémon. Your opponent must guess either left, middle, or right to pick their/your Pokémon.
It's actually the top Smogon set. I imagine it's because Chi-yu doesn't get crazy coverage, and Overheat and Fire Blast can be used in conjunction if Overheat is used as a pivot and Fire Blast is a last resort type of move as a late-game sweeper. It's typically to counter threats in the tier.

I feel like you should do this again but instead if saying what stat is potentially the highest or lowest, you should give the numbers and not what the stats are. Like say a the highest stat was 135 sp atk, you would never know if its just the number it could be anything.

That could be interesting having it almost in reverse of what’s normally done
they should have randomly selected abilities assigned to like 1 2 or 3 so that they dont intentionally try to ruin every pokemon on the opponents team
