DIY Scrap Metal Kindling Splitter

I needed a kindling splitter so I made one with metal that was lying around my shop. It's an easy welding project and cost me much less than buying one online. Plus mine has way more style! At least I think it does.

Thanks for the video, I am getting ready to attempt to build one myself. You did a beautiful job, (mine won't be nearly as nice. I had a couple suggestions, but you had already figured it out before the end of the video. One making it somewhat taller not to bottom out before the log is split, and the second welding a spreader to help split the wood. I had considered a cross blade, but I think I will stick with a single blade with a splitter wing instead. Again, great job. Mine won't be as nice, but hopefully it will work. -dave
