How to press flowers between glass - DIY Pressed Flower Wall Art

Here are a few rules I follow when foraging for flowers:
1. I do not recommend picking wildflowers if you live in a populated area - it's so important to leave these plants to the bees, insects, and animals. A great alternative is to go to a nursery and buy some flowers in bloom, then you can enjoy them in the future.
2. If you do go out to forage flowers, go somewhere that there is very little or no human traffic. I go to an isolated mountain slope where few, if any, other people go. That way you can ensure the area will no be affected by many people picking flowers.
3. When picking flowers outdoors, pick only one bloom per plant and forage in a large area. This will ensure that no single patch will be affected.
4. Most important: thank nature for her bounty, she is so generous with her gifts of plants and flowers - we must always take time to appreciate every single flower.

My father made me a flowerpress when I was young. I am 71 now and just started using it again now with my own granddaughter of 5! She loves flowers just like me.

I recently came across your channel and it is a breath of fresh air to watch your videos. My cat and I developed the routine of lying in bed and watching your videos until I fall asleep. Funny tidbit, my cat only ever watches a video that feature other animals. This is the first time she has ever sat with me and watched this without doing anything else :) I guess she feels relaxed like I do too

I've found myself watching at least one of your videos at bedtime to help quiet my mind and settle my emotions. Between the picturesque scenery, the music you select, the sound of your voice ... even the subject matter ... seem to help me relax and leave the stress and disappointments of the day behind. I’ve been watching you a few years, and you have at 59 years old inspired me to pick beautiful bits of nature around my land. My mother who’s passed years ago used to press and dry flowers for her shadow boxes she’d sell. She’d gather little dried cones, seed pods, grasses and flowers, and my dad would cut the wood, stain it, cover her works of art with glass, and leather strips with tacks at the corners. This was her way to bring in some extra income as full time mom. She was beautiful, and her work was sold at art shows around Southern California in the 70’s. I miss her delicate creativity and this so reminds me of her❤. I’m going to start creating beauty myself as a way to honor her.

When I look at the beautiful clouds covering the mountains in the morning and the sunshine passing through the veil of clouds . I say it's a mysterious beauty. At night when i sit in my small garden and look up at the sky embellished with millions of twinkling stars , I feel a serene joy within and say to myself that the mysterious beauty of th earth can't be an accident or evolution but it is a magnificent creation created by magnificent hands of God who alone can create such beauties in such beautiful detail that mesmerized both eyes and the heart.

Feeling guilty about how much plastic we use, I started watching out the Kefir bottles and painting them. My thought is to fill them with flowers from my garden and leave them as random little gifts on people's doorstep. 😉❤

That’s beautiful. When I was a teen, we’d dry flowers onto clear tape and roll over the tape on top and make little clear bookmarks. You can then punch a hole and put yarn for the outside.

I just love pressing flowers in books. I actually just sorted my now large collection of them into categories a few days ago. I love to use them in journals, artwork and jewellery. I just love your videos, have only seen your most recent ones so have decided to start from the very beginning of your CZcams journey. So very glad I have. My children would visit their father in Washington State for the summer. They always spoke of it's beauty. I feel so blessed to witness what you see and to learn the beautiful things you teach. I thank you for what you do and for showing me what a beautiful state Washington is. My children are grown and some have children of there own now. I have grandchildren that are grown and one that is just a toddler. It would be such a blessing to one day drive across the country to see all the places they saw with their dad. He and I divorced over thirty years ago. He and our children would tell me of the beauty there. By the way I'm new here. I know I'll be back, God willing. Thank you.

I'm into clothes and love creating outfits. I always take note of flowers and their colours, along with stems. If a flower's colours go together, then so can the same colours for an outfit of clothes. There is an old saying, 'Blue and green should never be seen'. Yet if a flower can be seen , dressed in blue and green, created by the greatest artist ever, the Almighty, so can an outfit of clothes.
