@@gauravsubedi9222 The Maoist government of the time tried to destroy the professionalism and political neutrality of the Army by interfering with the chain of command. The reason why the Maoists did this was to bring the Nepalese Army under party influence and start a communist regime in Nepal. General Katawal prevented that from happening and thus saved democracy. For further context, watch Prachanda's Shaktikhor speech.
