    Wahnsinniges Modul und tolle Tutorial Serie. Konnte nicht widerstehen. Bei Schneiders bestellt. Jetzt heißt es warten und Träumen 🥰

    chaotic detune might have just pushed me over the edge. seriously impressed by what you've done here. time to get in line for a unit.

    Just got my Sinfonion this morning! Haven't installed it yet, but I know this beauty will be heavily used. Thank you, Detroit Modular! When you get your Sinfonion, you will be very impressed by the packaging and ACL should set the standard for modular presentation. Thanks, Mattias.

    I've got 99 problems but pitch ain't one.
    But seriously, I thought I understood Sinfonion, but this was mind blowing. This is light years ahead of other quantizers. I've had one on preorder for a month or two now. Really can't wait for delivery. This is incredible.

    Love the complete series of videos. And your drawings. Sinfonion seems like THE must-have for me, it’s hard if at all possible to reach that range of musicality in a modular with a combination of distinct modules.

    Heyoo!! I got a Sinfonion lately and i am lovingggg it!!, i have one question though which i cant find to be answered somehow maybe im missing something in the manual but i was looking over and over, what function has the SCALE button on the B side of the first Quantizer Channel???!
    Great work to all involved this module reallly is a hugee step for performing Modular!!

    I have a reasonable ear for what sounds good to my ears, but lack of musical theory so far prevents me from coming up with these progressions without a lot of trial and error beforehand. This kinda destroys the spontaneity of making music and thus my enjoyment in the long run. This module is one I will happily exercise my GAS on. I cannot see me getting all (or indeed: most) of this modules features by combining other modules. I mean the Harmoniagh seems to approach it for a small stretch, but the Sinfonion really blows all combinations of modules out of the water.
    I appreciate how you did reduce menu-diving to a minimum. Still there will be some learning involved to be able to access all features off the top of my head. Maybe make an android/iOS app that simulates the UI and shows pop-ups with the info, much like you do with the schematic of the UI you draw on in this series? That would be an awesome interactive manual for the module; I keep a tablet next to my setup anyway..
    Either way: it's a buy for me, as soon as it becomes available again :)
    Thank you Mathi!

    Question: why might you not want Input Follows Root to just be ON all the time?

    • @MartinDoudoroffLLC
      @MartinDoudoroffLLC Před 5 lety

      Ok, I think I understand: it’s just a question of intent. With Input Follows Root turned off, basic quantization is like any other quantizer when the chord/scale changes: the available notes change, but that’s it, so the motif actually changes. With Input Follows Root, the entire motif is transposed to the new root and potentially preserved.

    New owner of Sinfonion here. It is a fantastic and creative piece of engineering. What are the patch cables you're using? Black with colored collars... I'm highly interested in those.

      Hi, and thanks for getting a Sinfonion! Don't forget to join our Discord server for discussion on the Sinfonion and the DROID. Here is an invite: discord.gg/fssR5brt49
      The cables are custom made by myself. And not for purchase, unfortunately. They are made of Mogami cables and golden plugs vom Amphenol (metal case)...

    I'd like to know what did you use for drums (including triggers), for your music. Thanks. Keep on making gorgeous music

    • @DerMannmitderMaschine
      @DerMannmitderMaschine  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Cyberg, as a sound source I'm using modules from Hexinverter: Mutant SD, Mutant Hat, Mutant DB09, Mutant claps and two Tiptop modules: the BD and SD. Triggering was done with a Cirklon sequencer, but I now changed that to do all drum sequencing with my new DROID modules.

    Would the ER-101 be a good sequencer for the marvelous sinfonion?

    • @DerMannmitderMaschine
      @DerMannmitderMaschine  Před 3 lety +1

      Probably yes. But that holds for any other sequencer as well. I would say that the Sinfonion works with any sequencer equally good. If course when you have more simple sequencers, like analog ones without any builtin quantizer or scales, the Sinfonion or another quantizer is almost necessary. I have never used the ER-101, looks like this thing can do anything you like but is not really easy to learn. No offense ment...

    Last question Mathias (I own a SInfonion since December - but I'm lil bit dumb (maybe)); someone explained it already to me, but I'm still in the fog... I know that the 2 Gates (1 & 2) are for outputs meanings... ok. But, after which event(s) do they trig for, please!?! In advance, thx.

    • @raskolnikov1242
      @raskolnikov1242 Před 4 lety

      And I read the manual many times - and the rest is crystal clear ofr me - but, about the gates, doesn't go much into detail (or I'm really dumb)... What r those out gates for. Cheers and congrats for that beast.

    • @DerMannmitderMaschine
      @DerMannmitderMaschine  Před 4 lety

      Hi Raskol, these gates are simpler than you might expect. They are triggered by the two according gate buttons. And in sequencer mode, since all buttons can have an individual setting per sequene step, so can these two buttons. That way you can switch the gates on and off in different steps of the sequence.

    So, basically, matrix mode is an improved precision adder?

    • @DerMannmitderMaschine
      @DerMannmitderMaschine  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Raskol, the matrix mode contains two matrices. The Input Mixing Matrix is indeed similar to a precision adder, but adds multiple inputs *before* quantization. So precision is not the deal here (though the Sinfonion is very precise). The Output Switching Matrix on the other hand does not allow additions but simply routes the outputs of the quantizer channels and the Arpeggiator to the four according output jacks.
