I’ve been watching Josh’s videos since 2016, he does amazing work when doing abandoned places. Love how he gives you all the information about the place!
I really don't like Josh doing the ghost hunting stuff, because of the trouble he can get into. However, I'm kinda surprised he hasn't done one or has he......and just not released it yet? Hmmm. 🤔
Josh, you should go to the southern tip of the Kenai Peninsula in Portlock, Alaska. There lies an abandoned ghost town of a once prosperous fishing town/cannery. The citizens of the town got the hell out of there and left everything after people were being torn to shreds and left in swampy areas from what the natives claim to be Bigfoot. You can only get to it by boat or helicopter and the structures still exist. ...just don't go into the woods.
I almost forgot about that place! Now I wanna check out some videos about it again. Very interesting. There have been "big foot" or "dog man" type (or believed to be) killings in national forests. I just heard a story of a woman who was torn to bits. And this was after she reported feelings of being watched. There are crazy things that happen in national forests. Doesn't surprise me that this would happen in a remote area of Alaska.
The first patient came to Georgia’s first insane asylum on Dec. 15, 1842, chained to a horse-drawn wagon. Tilman Barnett, described as violent and destructive, diagnosed as a “lunatic, ” never left. Barnett, a 30-year-old farmer from Bibb County, died six months later of a malady termed “maniacal exhaustion.” Allan Judd
I’m so thankful for the advances we have come in mental health medicine. I couldn’t imagine having mental issues back in the day. Back in the beginning of 2020, I tried to un alive myself and stayed almost 2 weeks in a mental health ward in a hospital. The fact that these “doctors” got away with what they did makes me sick to even think about
Please don't try that again! You're needed here! Around 1980 I toured a mental institution with my medical school, it was horrible even then! I swore I'd never work in one and I never have. IDK how anyone could treat ppl the way they use to; even in the 1980's! Reminded me of "One flew over the cuckoo's nest." Just tragic. Hope you're doing well now too:-)
I used to work in this town, and had many older clients in the community who were institutionalized there when they were younger. Sometimes I would drive around between visits because I wanted to observe the history and imagine what it could have been like for them. So incredibly painful, given their stories. Thank you for exploring this one! A very important designation in the history of institutionalized mental illness.
I grew up 45 minutes from this place. My brother was admitted there a couple of times after suicide attempts. Can’t believe you explored a place I know, And have connections too. Lake Sinclair is close by also. It’s where I learned to water ski. Love the videos!
@@xboogiex1239 happens more than you prob realize man my father tried a cpl times years ago when me and my sister were still kids. @Ash can't speak for him but my father received fairly good treatment at some places...the only one where I'd question is somewhere I myself eventually went when I was trying to detox from opiates and also knew 1 or 2 other ppl who went for their own demons/addictions. For one they threw you all in the same ward whether you were an addict/dual diagnosis with mental illness and addiction/with total batshit crazy or mentally challenged. The staff there also were horrible. Everything about the place sucked...my time there was a few years after my father had been there after one of his suicide attempts. I got my mom n dad to pick me up after the first night because I knew that place was never gonna help me get clean. (Thanks to other avenues and attempts I've been clean from opioids for 9 years now) That place (Westwood Lodge in Westwood, Massachusetts) has been closed down for a while now from what I know of.
My dad and I watch videos every now and then. Josh is awesome. We've been watching the occasional video since 2016, I believe. I've yet to check out his Beyond the Dark videos, but what do you think of them?
Ice baths helped me to get ridd of anxiety and stress. I do it many times. It helps me to stay motivated and feel strong, but I think it differs from how they performed the ice bath in that time.
JOSH! I know what your thinking, but you dont want to say it with every place you explore, but an After Dark looks definitely on the cards with this place. It has all the ingredience for after life experiences, a morgue, a prison , operating rooms.
I love how fearless you are Josh, you have been doing these Vlogs for so long you are completely relaxed with your surroundings and you just get on with the Xplore

Absolutely enjoying them. I've learned and am learning so much in your travels. I really do appreciate all the traveling you've done. Thank you🙏💖🐾
I've been watching Josh's videos for quite some time now, and it's so cool to see where he's traveling to. Its nice how he gives information and also is really considerate of the property. There's actually an abandoned prison complex and tuberculosis hospital not too far away from where I live that is open up now for tours! :)
Hey, Josh! This asylum is insanely huge with crazy history. Great video, I really enjoyed the natural decay. I’m surprised there’s a little bit of graffiti as you are. Take it easy and stay safe.
Hey Josh. There is this homeless shelter in Las Vegas, called the Shadetree! It was built on top of an old Indian graveyard. Headstones were removed, but, the bodies are still underneath! The Shadetree Shelter is 3 stories high and I was told that the basement was haunted! I stayed there, back in 2008, for a couple months because I was attacked and robbed, so I had no choice but to go to the shelter. I was up on the 3rd floor and I can say that there was definitely some really strange energy there! And NO ONE was allowed in the basement! The basement is said to be haunted! Maybe you can check that place out some day!
