My cousin Marc jigged up a limit from the surf last year, and we're releasing this video now to whet everyone's appetite for the 2021 fluke season. Now's the time to get all your fluke tackle ready - stock up on leader/jigheads upgrade your rod/reels and most importantly...grab a dozen packs of Gulp 6" Jerk Shads lol!

Love absolutely everything about that interaction. Great conversation, great information, guy was genuinely interested. Convos like this make my day.
EXACTLY, we are all here to learn from each other, good attitude mate, God bless.
Good job and nice of you to share your knowledge.
Awesome to share your knowledge!
Great channel just wondering what knot you use leader to line? Thanks
Improved alberto - check out the newer videos bud
Kid spitting knowledge as always. Marc really helped me improve my fluke from shore game!
Let’s get it.
nice you shared knowledge, good man!
You are right, I'm really pumped to Flounder fish now!
Nice video Marc!
Let’s get it!
5 minutes into the video I’m whet already! Thanks Marc can’t wait see you out there!
Let’s get it!
GJ strider, i think its awesome youre willing to talk with those guys, im sure it gets old after awhile, but they seemed cool and not too intrusive. When you see a guy just killing it and getting bite after bite and youre in the same spot striking out, you can really see how the right gear and technique are required. soemthing i never really thought much about as a viewer. - pho
We all start from somewhere!
Hi, where did you get rod holders?
Great video!!! Just got my first 20" plus flounder this week here in NE Florida! I mostly use live finger mullet 3-5".
Awesome!!
You put those other guys to shame! There is the difference right there between knowing and not knowing how to fish. Great Video!!
It's a learning experience for everyone, catching a fish is easy catching fish consistently takes time on the water and a willingness to learn!
That dude you helped is gonna slay this season
You are triggering the Flukes Predatory Instinct...Note they take the bait head first! Question...How much flouro Topshot do you recommend.I tend to do like 10 ft using a PR Knot...But I am thinking you are doing a Shorter leader.
Marc uses a shorter leader, around 3-4ft and keep the knot outside the rod. I use an 8-9ft leader and keep the knot between the reel and stripper guide. Forget the PR/FG knot...just use the modified alberto - cut the fluoro tag end perfectly flush and leave 1/4" on the braid tag end.
Great vid boys, hard to argue when the results are right there in front of you
What type of bag did you save your fish in?
It's the old Engels backpack cooler...sadly discontinued
That guys voice sounded like J. Skinner asking about the jig?
Good stuff kid first video I seen of you. Keep it up 👍
高手
I like the Seashell Brand gill slitter. Gotta "borrow" that Spyderco from Roger.
A travesty...
@@CookingandFishing that wasn't pretty
Nice drone footage 👊🏽
I ran into this same guy at Manasquan this year and I was catching flukes using your setup and he wasn't catching much but little shorts. His wife was also fishing with him and they kept a short too. LOL!
haha damn...
Hey can you discuss ideal conditions you look for when fluking the open surf? Do you look for very calm surf days? Does wind play a factor? Incoming or outgoing tide? Particular ideal months? Etc.
We cover a lot of it on this podcast. czcams.com/video/mLBf2AgkgZU/video.html
@@shore-moneyfishing1939 Great Podcast
Yeah check out the podcast but I'll say this - when fluke migrate inshore in the Spring/Summer it's to feed and fatten up. There's a way to make them bite under any conditions...you just have to figure it out.
Cool video. I’m not that great from shore. I’ll be sure to use your techniques in the future. Thanks for the info!
Put in the time and you’ll dial it in!
Where did you get the rod stand??
Light tackle and single jig are definitely the way to go in the surf. I still remember the gentleman who gave me a spare 1/4 once jig one day at Sandy hook. From that moment on I began catching fish. He completely changed how I fished for fluke, thank you! Your videos are great. They are very informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work and I’ll keep smashing the 👍.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Glad it helped! Tight lines!!
literally cant go back to using anything else but the jerkshad from shore
have you tried the zman 7'' jerkshad? it's got pretty good action. it does a wiggle on the pop because the plastic is much softer.
I certainly have and it has great action. But you’ll catch fewer fish compared to the 6”jerkshad. However, if you’re looking to target big fish, this is worth a try!
@@shore-moneyfishing1939 Yeah I wonder when its appropriate to upsize. I'm guessing that if a big fluke is going to hit a 7'' shad, it'll also hit a 6'' shad. I could be totally wrong though.
Only time I can think of is if you're picking through piles of shorts
Doesn't sand get stuck in those clogs your wearing? I wear fliprock wading sandels on the beach when wading on a sand beach in the summer
Just curious where did you get your rod holder/carrier from? Trying to get one similar
You should just walk around with a QR code on your back that people can scan for the channel
lol good idea!
Jerkshad, jerkshad, jerkshad, jerkshad...
Subbed! Very informative my dude! Been jigging surf since last year after a lifetime of bait fishing and still learning. Been using 1 1/2 oz to 3/4 oz cause that’s what I’ve been told. Gotta try these smaller setups now. Keep it up my dude and you’ll be the next John Skinner!
We have zero aspirations to be john skinner but thanks lol - and yes the setup has to match the jig - light rod/reel/braid/leader then give it a whirl!
If you don't help a neighbor you aren't a decent person. People forget what was taught to them in Kindergarten
Its interesting to see how you emphasize fishing the beach lip as opposed to others that would emphasize fishing along jetty rocks or finding cuts in sandbars. Do you need to find days with very small waves to effectively fish the beach lip?
The beach lip is a long standing theory! You can fish the lip effectively in less than ideal Conditions. czcams.com/video/37vTyV7eduo/video.html
@@shore-moneyfishing1939 Thanks! I kayak and surf fish MoCo all summer. Hit me up!
How you taking fish when season opened yesterday? That spot is in jersey..
Says right in the description that this footage is from last year.
jersey fisherman? I think I know where you are. Subbed :)
what tide do you like for fluking at this spot?
Lol! Guy thinks he's reinventing the wheel.
Not reinventing the wheel but perhaps perfecting it! You’re probably a John Skinner fan so don’t be mad.
@@fabulousfishing4688 both are are very good fishermen...Skinner is also a writer and an author...gotta respect that...whether you like him or not...
Poor guy couldn't catch covid in a de Blasio nursing home ........
He had better chances than sitting on the couch, he got a sea robin and is actively working on getting better. No need to be a Toxic scrub.
We should all relate to this at some point
Guy was humble enough to ask for help...why not?
