It is actually impressive how this game is so faithful to the Zelda CDI games, but it's actually good.
Probably doesn't have the janky controls, which is what made the cdi Zelda games worse than it should have been.
@@callak_9974 Controls are good, bosses aren't one tap kills (though I think you can one tap the cat lady if you bomb gauntlet her. At least it does high damage) the map is easy to use and control, there is in my perspective a few reasons this is better. Also (to me) it's much easier to tell where you can and can't jump
Which tells me they could have made the Zelda CDI games good, but chose not to.
Those games only sucked because of the CDI hardware.

If Jared does a review of this on the main channel, I'd love a checklist of all the mechanics that _didn't_ work in the CD-i _Zelda_ games, and then what _Arzette_ did to fix those mechanics. Mind you, a lot of the issues with those CD-i- games are due to the fact that the system wasn't really made for video games, and the controller in particular reflects that.

Jared, remember to check for hidden walls. And while it's not that obvious, talk to characters multiple times. Sometimes they will give you new wuests, items, or info.
I did not expect the sound of the flute in this game to make you corpse like that. That got me giggling like nuts
Jared has memory of a guppy. I love that the music in this game is so good otherwise the repetitiveness of the levels would drive me nuts. Glad he got the double jump.
Definitely the most relatable character in this game so far. That "aaaah" is exactly how I sound whenever I stand up after sitting down for a while.
Complains about not having a double jump in the swamp, gets the double jump IN THE SWAMP, goes to the forest and the desert... I love Jerd, but at times, it causes pain, lol
Someone needs to make a compilation video of Jared laughing uncontrollably at unexpected sounds/visuals in games. It sounds really specific, but I swear it's happened more times than I'd have expected.
Man, the charging sound legitimately spooked me for a second. It sounds like someone is grinding something off in the distance haha.
This game really kinda highlights that the IDEA behind those two zelda CDI games wasn't necessarily bad, but they were executed poorly on a system that really wasn't meant for it.
That charge effect would blow up a CDI
I can't believe the put the "aahhhhhhh, murrrrrdurrrrr" guy in this game just for Jared.

For a moment I was legit worried he was going to completely forget.
Really enjoying this series, it’s almost like Metroid with acquiring new abilities and equipment, but with funny characters and cutscenes
You forgot to mention that the old man also quoted the Bubsy cartoon.
Its not intuitive but you can get that coin in the forest, Jared. Not all walls are solid...

this game and all of its blatant references to the CD-i Zelda titles... oh, I adore it so much. they made those references as funny as they could and gave us a GOOD game. :)

Just finished my own playthrough of this and the game's delightful in all the best and worst ways.
This series has been weirdly entertaining, particularly due to having watched the CDi games. Thanks Jerd, hopefully there's some goodies for 100% it
When the game was coming out, some youtubers and streamers got a special package with the game. Including a magazine of the game, an envelope that plays the trailer and most impressive of all... Arzette pogs 👀

So I doubt Jared will answer this question himself, which is 100% ok lol, but whats the best way to support these videos if you decided you want to play the game(s) yourself and don't want to watch them to avoid spoilers? I no that mind set tends to work against the almighty algorithm.
GIving a like and a comment every video and even more so in the first 24 hours helps a lot his channel even if you end up not watching the video.
You could also become a channel member or use the tip button youtube has, it may not be a lot of money but that certainly helps the channel grow, other than those things i dont know what to tell you, maybe share the videos with friends who might be interested?

Would love if after you beat it unlocks a mode called true cdi mode. A difficult setting that makes the play through janky as hell.
