  • EA sports dropped their overall team rankings and ratings for EA College Football 25 rankings week. Let's just say there are some egregious errors. Like indefensible. A lot of teams too high, some teams too low, and some teams missing entirely. I try to figure out why Colorado is getting insane PR so far in the game, while also critiquing the rest of the list. I even throw together a Vegas list that works way better than EA's.

    Lol...every streamer upset about preseason ratings is comedy and proof EA got it right. College football is all about debates and controversy when it comes to polls, playoff selections, best conference, and best home field advantage. The ratings will change once games are actually played. Right now they made the top 25 have parity which is the way to launch the game

      My problem is with how bad they were. If there weren’t a couple of egregious mistakes I wouldn’t have said anything, but there’s a problem when a game, made by college football fans, has ratings that don’t reflect what’s on the field. I know the ratings will change, but the first game isn’t going to be played until the game has been out for a month and the first update to the ratings probably won’t be until a month after that. At the minimum that’s 1 month of the games life where these are the ratings. It absolutely does matter.

    If you notice multiple teams share the same overall as Colorado but they happen to put them at what 16 or 17?
    Doesn’t surprise me if they did that on purpose knowing it would get people talking.
    Also we should read into the overalls in the 80s if anything I’m convinced that’s just the average for the big programs to make a clear difference between them and the small schools that only get 2 or 3 star players.
    Also one more thing I will say is that not all overalls are the same I believe.
    Take Colorado for example. Sure their QB and Hunter have hight overalls, but I’m sure their offensive line sucks so can say it averages out in the 80s range.

    • @BryceTinson
      @BryceTinson  Před 26 dny +2

      This is a great point. It seems as if they’re really trying to make a distinction between the P4 and the G5 with what we’ve seen so far. I’m not sure what the does for dynasty, but it’s definitely very interesting. The problem with Colorado is that even though Shaduer and Travis will be 90+, the rest of the offense even shouldn’t be above an 80 at best. Most of them should be in the low to mid 70s with an occasional high 70. It’s just so odd to me how they came up with their rating given all the information available to them.

    • @skullcruncher7218
      @skullcruncher7218 Před 26 dny

      @@BryceTinson I say it’ll definitely make dynasty more interesting if you choose to start off with one of the lower tier teams.
      As for Colorado? Well not all ratings are equal so just because their overall is in the high 80s doesn’t mean they are that good.
      Take an offensive lineman for example. You can make their overall high by giving them awareness which does nothing outside of sim, but they could suck compare to another lineman because that one in question have high ratings in categories that matters like pass or run blocking.
      When there over 100 schools, can argue it makes sense seeing a lot of the power conferences having teams in the low to mid 80s at worse even if they aren’t truly as good as some of us may think they are going into the season.

    You seem to be pretty good at making videos. I can see only a couple of them though. Do you have another channel? Will you be doing any content after game drops?

      No this is my first channel. I appreciate the support. Yeah I’ll be doing a ton of game content once the game drops. I’ve never been this excited for a video game.

    Does team overall effect player ratings and play in game?

    • @BryceTinson
      @BryceTinson  Před 25 dny

      The player’s overall makes up team overall meaning that the teams at the top have high rated players. That will effect how each team plays in the game

      That might even be generous. They have the 11th best odds to win the Big12 and have a current over/under win total of 5.5. It just doesn’t make a ton of sense how they’re so highly rated.

    Where is Florida? Where is Michigan State? A lot of these are just not right. Ohio state is not a 93 overall caliber team right now (def top 5, just not 93) Alabama at 92 is crazy, coming off a year they beat GA and now have a great group of mostly vets/seniors they deserve to be with Oregon, though just my opinion. I can understand some of these are just marketing stunts…but this is so wrong

    • @BryceTinson
      @BryceTinson  Před 25 dny +1

      I disagree about Florida and Michigan State being in the top 25. I also disagree with Ohio State not being a 93. They returned like 85% production from last years team and got 2 high impact starters in the portal. Alabama is good at 92. The skill positions outside of RB are a question, but the defense is going to be good.

      @@BryceTinsonI am an TA&M fan, but I personally think FL is a solid team that just needs some discipline to be great. They are definitely over Kansas and below imo. Michigan State I can kinda Agree with thinking on it. Ohio State at least to me doesn’t have any real depth outside of their admittedly high level starters. I’m not sure about recruiting outside my own school so I can’t say much there. But I think the ratings are already kinda all over the place. But that’s why you play the game I guess lol!

    Colorado Native and I agree Colorado is wayyy too high. My other guess is guys like Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders artificially inflate those numbers. A good QB and WR are extremely valued at the college level, more so than the NFL I would argue. Perhaps those ratings are weighted because of that? That doesn’t change the fact that they were the 95th ranked offense statistically. They weren’t even the best statistical offense in Colorado last year 😂 Strength of schedule is obviously a factor but it’s wild to have them that high based on those stats

    • @BryceTinson
      @BryceTinson  Před 24 dny

      That was another thought I had. Could certain positions weight more heavily into the overall rating? It seems as if they would, but their top 20 defensive rating kind of counters that. Just doesn’t really add up at the end of the day.

      Well that’s the point of making videos; to get people to click on them. Sure the ratings are going to change, I mention it in the video, but with a rating that’s this egregious there deserves to be questions. There is simply no way that the 100s of college football fans working on this game would agree with that rating. It just makes 0 logical sense. All I really want is an honest explanation.
