The site you got is our favorite spot , I live 15 minutes from the island but still camp there , I'm not sure who was working the day you checked in but your not supposed to have a fire on the ground only in a firepit if you bring one
Oh and don’t forget the diesel crewboats and pilot boats who start up before daylight across from the campground and the offshore helicopters flying crew change on the gas platforms along with the motorcycles and 4 wheel drive trucks with loud mufflers pulling boats to launch. Heavy populated overpriced little island 😬
We didn't find the noise to be a problem on this particular trip. It certainly can get busy with tourists at certain times of the year but we enjoyed this stay!
On Saturday mornings the lighthouse bakery has a crab omelet that is delicious!
