Cherry Shrimp Color Genetics: Yellow + Red = ?

If you put fire-red cherry shrimp females and yellow males in the same aquarium for hybrid breeding, what will be the color pattern of their offspring? I have done this, and their first generations are beautiful orange. Why? Because both red and yellow are co-dominant traits.

This is a very good question that I don't know the answer. Given that spectrums of orange and red are close, and orange line was obtained by selective breeding from red line, I would predict their first generation of hybrid will be between red and orange.
