  • The Reform Party's Ben Habib, previously a Brexit Party MEP, says that the Reform Party will not do any deals with the Conservative Party at the next election. He admits it was a mistake to stand down Brexit Party candidates at the 2019 General Election as it led to anti-Brexit Tories being elected to Parliament.

I always felt it was an error to stand down candidates because it left certain voters with nothing to vote for. And we were correct as the Conservative buggered up Brexit. Quisling May et al. Wasting years on bogus negotiations, which were and have proven to be irrelevant and detrimental and unnecessary. No negotiation was necessary for Article 50.
It deflated all those who had put in such great efforts to debate with others Brexit etc. in the streets. It ought to have been seen that votes to the Conservative would create more problems than letting in the Labour party especially when done Brexit members may have been elected. At every point they have had no backbone; only served themselves. Blue needs to go because they have failed but Red is not the answer. That would be ddisaster on stilts

Yes, it was wrong to stand down the Brexit Party Candidates. I said so the time. In the run up to the election I was very heavily involved in organising campaign etc in Lincolnshire. I never believed Johnson was a Brexiteer. He just jumped on the bandwagon in the hope it would take him to number 10. Having won the election he did not know what to do to deliver Brexit. A once in a generation opportunity too easily given away, which will never be given again. Either Farage was given some type of ultimatum to stand the candidates down. From whom this came and how etc I do not know, but I believe he was put under pressure. Or, his heart was still with his beloved Tory Party, betraying his young mistress: the Brexit Party. The Labour Party will take us back into Europe, no doubt about this.

At least with PR there's every chance of the Heritage party, Reclaim, Reform, and the Tories forming equal coalitions. The alternative is Farage takes over the Tories and kicks the wets out but Farage isn't a conservative, he's a Thatcherite neocon so I'm not convinced he's the answer either. The plain truth is that we don't have a grass roots movement like the MAGA movement in America, so there are no good solutions right now, only least worst ones.

They have always despised ordinary people and the Brexit Party after the Referendum was the nearest we've got since Cromwell and the Civil Wars to rebalancing the equation. I agree with Ben that standing down the Brexit Party candidates in the 2019 Election was a big mistake - all it did was hand Johnson an 80 seat majority, when it could well have produced at the very least a significant number of seats which could have held the balance of power between Tories and Labour to engineer a proper exit from Europe and start the wind down from high tax and central control. As it stands, there is no difference between Tory and Labour from the point of the Ordinary Man. No one represents us.

Good morning JN, greetings from Germany near Cologne. It is the tactical method of Reform Candidates, I have analyzed a lot of Farage's speeches, to skip aspects that are not comfortable for them.
Our right wing party the AFD avoids talking about Israel, Gaza, Ukraine etc.
In our partial system they will enter Parliament, this is O.K. 5% is the limit, they might even achieve 20%.
Ben, of course, does not mention that for the EU Parliament only 1,5% is sufficient.
Farage, just before the Ukraine War on Sky News: "What can Russia do? Nato has expanded and Ukraine intends to join the EU? If NATO confirms that the Ukraine would not become a member and not join the EU the Russians would withdraw their troops which were already standing at the border." - Later he said he was misunderstood, China is his arch enemy. I would respond: "Then kick out China from the UK, you'll be surprised what happens."
The UK gave the Tories a tremendous majority, Johnson not believing in Brexit is
humbug, a lame excuse. The UK is out, a justification for leaving, this is what Ben is doing, is irrelevant. The argumentation is stupid, all organizations have their rules. What he forgets is the fact, that the EU is not only France, Germany, Italy, Spain etc but some smaller states that must have equal rights and opportunities. This makes it more complicated.
My country lost in court against Poland and Austria, and it was correct, extreme stupidity by our politicians.
There are thousands of EU regulations in the UK after Brexit, ask the ordinary people how many they know. wish you all he best -
