  • Meet Berta Bravo aka "The Guayabera Lady".
Berta is a true entrepreneur that has persevered to open her new storefront location in upscale Coral Gables, and is a testament to the American dream. She has been in the clothing industry most of her life and has an amazing family history. Her grandfather first opened a clothing store for her father in their hometown of Sancti Spiritus in Cuba. A generation later, after arriving in the United States in 1966, and after much hard work and dedication, Bravos family sold their creations door-to-door and worked weekends at the flea markets. In 1980, they opened their first store and stayed in business until 1998, when Bravos parents retired and she became a grandmother. After her father passed away in 2003, Berta felt it was time to continue what her family had started. She began by selling Guayaberas from the trunk of her car and soon afterwards "The Guayabera lady" was born. Her clients include South Florida Water Management District, the City of Miami, Miccosukee Indian Tribe, Baptist Health South Florida, HBO Latin America, Univision and many of Miamis most notable celebrities, just to name a few.
