My shipping is approx $10 too and can easily go up to $18 with books! It's the paperback version of Rage by Bachman (king). It's a book that is about a class shooting and it was banned. There is also a collection of 4 Bachman books that will sell well if you have a first printing. finally, something I can add some input on.
I miss the old middle school book fairs. They had the coolest 💩 there. I got a Mark Mcguire poter there and it still exists at my mammaws house somewhere. Also had a Plymouth Prowler poster that was 🔥 too.
I sold an occult book for over 300 last year. I'm more like Cary, big money buys scare me but I'm getting better. I flat rate promote but remove listings when they will sell without.

"Elderly" is a term loaded with judgement. Elder Folk just recognizes age. I adore Mel!!! She is very bright and wise enough to take advice from others that will affect her business in a positive way! Few people can remove their egos from their decisions the way she has in changing her business plan. Mel, you were not defensive, you soaked up the knowledge, did the punishment for sourcing cheap books, and you've emerged with a really top notch bookstore that is making more money than ever. I really, totally, admire you and your incredible spirit!

I would be wary of switching over to primarily or only whatnot if you care about your channel. I track a lot of stats in this space and views seem to go down hard and stay down for everyone who does this.
I think the most important part of a channel’s success is authenticity…if your business is going more to whatnot, then share the journey. There is a ton of opportunity in the Whatnot reseller space…some of my biggest vids are about whatnot selling. Being early has value…and you can’t make a channel overly worried about what everyone else is doing.
