🇫🇷 Le @PrixdeLausanne est l’un des plus grands concours de danse au monde. Réservé aux danseurs et danseuses âgés de 15 à 18 ans, il fait converger chaque année sur les rives du Lac Léman des candidats venus du monde entier. A la clef pour les lauréats : une bourse et la possibilité de rejoindre une prestigieuse école de danse.
Ils sont 43 filles et 44 garçons à participer à l’édition 2024 du Prix de Lausanne. Suivez toute la semaine leur évolution : des cours et répétitions jusqu’aux sélections puis à la finale. Six jours intenses, où nos jeunes candidats jouent un pan de leur précoce carrière.
Si 425 jeunes danseuses et danseurs originaires du monde entier avaient postulé pour participer à la 52e édition du Prix de Lausanne, 87 seulement ont eu la chance de pouvoir se rendre en Suisse pour performer sur la scène du Théâtre de Beaulieu. Au terme d’une semaine particulièrement intense, ils ne sont plus qu’une vingtaine à passer l’ultime épreuve de la finale. Chacun présente une nouvelle fois une variation classique et une variation contemporaine sélectionnées au sein d’un large panel défini par le Prix de Lausanne, en adéquation avec son âge et son genre.
Qui parmi ces jeunes danseurs extrêmement prometteurs saura suffisamment impressionner le jury pour remporter un prix ?

Quel bonheur de voir ces jeunes, nés bien après le nouveau millénaire, entretenir avec tant de talent la flamme sacrée du génie de Marius Petipa, en étant pleinement de leur âge et de leur temps, les pièces modernes le prouvent !
C'est être riche qu'être tout cela, et de donner autant.

Wie es noch auf 3sat lief habe ich keine Sendung verpasst. Ballett verlangt jeden Tänzer so viel ab und ist so hart im erlernen. Ein Jahr war ein Sechzehn Jähriger dabei mit einer Bühnen Präsenz die den Moderatoren der Sendung die Sprache verschlagen hat. Er brauchte nix machen, alleine auf die Bühne zu laufen hat gereicht, er hat alles eingenommen 🙂. Das war schon beeindruckend und seine Darbietungen waren von einer Leichtigkeit die in diesen Alter eigentlich noch nicht sein kann, eben ein Ausnahme Talent.

The President of this year, Darcy, said : the social media show reels of moves and extreme poses are not true reflection of our emotional provoking art. Was this sentence describing or talking about Melanie Mcintire who can do difficult moves and extreme amount of turns? 😅😅

It's not even her that's posting all that though tbh. But yeah that comment was so needed.
I kinda feel badly for Melanie, as she was never “social media fame” hungry, all things posted and encouraged by a certain creator who has become INCREDIBLY successful (and RICH) off of dancers from a certain school and (arguably) EXPLOITING said dancers such as Melanie, I mean are they getting 50 percent of every post Eva puts up with her millions of views?
I had a VERY strong feeling that going in, all of this social media “fandom” was going to go badly for MM, these people are OLD SCHOOL, and want their dancers humbled as can be- not that Mel isn’t - it’s just the image.
That, or they didn’t want it to be a popularity contest, but kinda HYPOCRITICAL considering they had a section with a “fan vote” like, pick a lane, you can’t have both, and still be taken seriously.
Either way, I’ve no doubts that MM will continue on to great success and she seems to be a down to earth, humble, incredibly talented and hard working young lady.

I don't know if you're aware of this, but the candidates aren't only judged on their solo pieces, but also on the work they did in class. So you can't really judge the final ranking only from what you saw here. You might want to look at all the streamed content, too. Just saying.
It's judging base on ALL of the events and what the dancers are able to "present" themselves as a package. They better be putting on an exhibition whether when they're dancing or not, so exhibiting a little "non-confident" might go against you.
