- We left for our budget lap of Australia from the sunshine coast after working away from home for over a year. We set sail west, into Outback Queensland. We found ourselves skipping through these beautiful country towns on our 8 hour drive to Carnarvon Gorge. Once we arrived.... we couldn't explain the sights and sounds. Dingoes howling, Wedge-tailed eagles soaring and the most beautiful pocket of rainforest in the middle of the desert.
Sit back relax and enjoy our chaos filled journey on our first week traveling australia, off grid!

Amazing and you showed us the inside of the gorge. Carnarvon gorge is often missed by tourists because they keep visiting beaches and beach towns.

Australia becoming McDonald young. But there are people that are doing things, like sailing la vagabonds, ghost town living, beau miles, wildling sailing, Philly and Keely. But when I was at work, the young engineers stood around my desk and had no understanding there leave history and how it came about, superannuation. Nothing.

Sadly when you drove through Injune you missed the turnoff to Mt Moffatt which is the section behind the gorge but part of the same national park. Also spectacular but for different reasons
