It's good to see from renowned violinists that you should stop bitting yourself up when practising and think you are wasting time with little progress. This video is a true definition of hard work.
This is great. I love her determination. I am 73 and have been playing guitar for 59 years. I have found that when I am trying to work out a difficult passage, it helps to take a mini break and play something I like, that I can do well, then jump back to the hard stuff. I do that continuously.
I play double bass and I find that breaking the "difficult " passage down to two notes or a single phrase at a time is a good way to teach your hands to do something. A teacher I read once said , there is difficult music, yes, but mostly it is that it is unfamiliar to our hands .
Dear Hilary, way beyond your musical skills it is you, your own beautiful and disciplined self development that resonates in our hearts and minds. You are good news to fucking everybody!!!! Let all the blessings you perform and share come back to you ! Thanks and congratulations!!! :)
What a great-sounding instrument! I played a Guarneri-model Vuillaume and was very impressed, and would like to try a strad-modeled one eventually as well.
Ms Hahn seems to use a shoulder rest that is extremely high, especially on the E string side (see the end of this video). Has anybody any idea what make of shoulder rest that is? I would very much like to acquire one :-) Many thanks for any help!
No clue, but if you ever get an answer in this thread, I'd love to know. I prefer keeping my shoulder rest high on the e string side and always have it screwed as high as is stable.
I see the adjuster on the end and it looks the same. I have a second. Hers may be a primo. www.sharmusic.com/Accessories/Shoulder-Rests/Wolf-Forte-Primo-Violin-Shoulder-Rest-fits-3-4---4-4-size.axd
i appreciated this reminder that that hours of mistakes and frustration precede her flawless performances
40 hours. A Day.
I love the parts where she puts the violin down for a second and her eyes seem to say: I HATE THE VIOLIN.

We all need to practice, no matter in what endeavour or what skill level we are at.

It's a copy of the Paganini Cannon Guarneri!
Amazing focus... especially when you have TWO YOUNG CHILDREN.
Vieuxtemps IV! Don't recognise a few of the others but the one by the window must be Britten, similar pizz to Lachrymae?
uma das melhores violinistas do mundo
Parabéns
Personally. When I practice it's not look likes this, RIP my patient neighbours hahaha :-D
Bravo Madame!!!!❤❤❤
Actually I can use this video as a reference for how much tone the little speaker on my cell phone takes away whenever I record myself practicing.

I think it is Bonmusica. That is the one that has extra extension on the upper part, so looks like that :)
It kind of looks like my Wolf shoulder rest.
