Sad theme, racism in the London Metropolitan Police. This tune is a response to the murder of 18 year student Stephen Lawrence. He was stabbed to death by a white mob while simply waiting for a bus to go home. When the police arrived no ambulance nor other help was called. Stephen died and the police did virtually nothing to find his killers. When higher level investigators looked into the case it was found that the police tried to make out Stephen was killed by his friend, another black guy. As they dug deeper into the case it was found that the police knew he killed him, and were trying to cover it up. The inquiry found that racism was at the very core of the case - and found the London Metropolitan Police was institutionally racist - hence the title of this tune.
