- SIMPLE How to Stall Rocket League Tutorial. Today is another video that has been asked about over and over again. Learning how to stall in rocket league is one of the basics when you want to learn some of the higher-level mechanics for freestyling. Learning to stall can make double resets easier and allow you to pull off some really crazy shots to keep your opponents on their toes. As part of the kinda how to freestyle series, I'm adding another rocket league freestyling mechanic to the list. How to stall in rocket league is one of the most asked questions I have in my chat on twitch and so I thought it would finally be time to breakdow how to stall in rocket league, but not only that, make a simple and easy rocket league stall tutorial for you.

If you want to learn to use the stall in freestyling you need to learn how to counteract the spin after the stall with the opposite airroll. Once you have that down its so easy to do chained resets or other stuff

Yessss nice video! I saw people asking in your chat the other day while I was doing stall doubles when we played a freestyle 1v1 the other day, well explained, my advice to anyone trying to learn it, is press the buttons In order first then speed it up so it is more like pressing them all at once. 1. analog ➡️2.directional air roll⬅️ 3. Then jump ⬆️
my jump and direction air roll is the same button, would that still work?

I acutally just learnt speed flipping from you, it helps out so much more than I expected, and only took around 2 hours.

how to stall easily (only works if u have both keyboard and controller)
1. change ur air steer right, air roll left, and jump all to space
2. keep ur controller in front of ur keyboard
3. jump with ur controller and press space after the jump
now you are a god at stalls

Tip: if you are just starting out with directional air roll, it is kinda nice to set air roll left to your left stick (pushed down). This means you can stall only using your left stick and your jump button. You don’t have to listen to me but this helped me out.

Fun fact: Increasing sensitivity increases stall chance. (1.0 must be perfect) (2.0 can be diagonal stalled, but still counts as straight right or left) i jear 1.7 is good for stalling. Anything under 1.4, good luck.
yo how much does ariel sens matter because i have had mine at 4 for some reason since i started playing the game and im wondering if i need to change it. im c2 with decent mechanics, at least higher than normal.
I had an easier time stalling at 1.3 than i did at 1.70 for some reason ? idk.

I use stalls sometimes when I airdribble to catch the ball better.

You actually explain how to do the mechanic, step by step. That is why people go to you for tutorials
tips for figuring out what you did wrong after failing a stall:
1st off all: if you have trouble pressing air-roll and moving the stick simultaneously try doing one input after the other in quick succession instead of both perfectly at the same time. Also remember that your last input should always be your jump button. Now with failing:
-Did you side-flip to your analog-stick's side? You did not press air-roll before jumping or at all
-Did you side-flip to your air-roll button's side? You did not have the analog-stick "facing" the other direction before jumping or at all
--try doing the first input earlier or jumping later
-Did you front/back-flip? Your timing is right but your analog-stick input is too far forward/backward respectively
--practice more with the stick input, maybe try stalling while constantly holding the air-roll so you don't have to worry about its' timing
-Did you double jumped? Your jump input happened way too early, it should always be the last thing you press
--obvious but press jump later
Also when practicing it is way better to hold the buttons for too much time rather than too little, in the first case you will end up with a stall and weird orientation while in the second you will at best miss the ball completely

Every now and then a stall can help you out when you lose control in the air to get you and the ball on the same path again. But yeah, mostly freestyles.

It is actually insane how many people ask how to stall when it is arguably the most useless mechanic in the game from a competitive perspective. It makes you hang in the air longer with no extra momentum. Even from a freestyler's perspective, it's used very seldom, only for getting ball resets, and even that is dying at this point since as soon as you can get your second reset, the movement is incredibly easy to do.
Stalls are incredibly overrated, that is my hot take. But you have made yet another helpful video, and so I must commend you Thanovic sir.

I’ve played since 2015 and I had to look up and watch this video just to find WHAT a stall even is. I was always confused when people said it but also confused when people were able to jump upward while their car is upside down. Never put 2 and 2 together lol
