I was present when the spy that loved me scene was taken, but I was on an adjacent car. The scene was
filmed on a Southern Rwy. sleeper as the "train" crossed Lake Pontchartrain. My track geometry car had a
very good diesel generator and was coupled to the sleeper to provide stable power for the cameras. Just
before the scene shown, you see 007 getting on a sleeper with a prominent SR emblem next to the door.
Southern required this in their contract. When Jaws is ejected, he actually lands in the lake, barely 10'
    below track level.

4:31 the small extra feature of how they made this sequence is on the DVD/Bluray. Pretty astounding that it was all real and practical. As practical as derailing a train can be. 😂

Fun Fact: If you look closely at the crash in the movie Bridge on the River Kwai, you'll actually spot a caboose-lookalike diesel pushing the train from behind. This is why the train keeps it's momentum going down the bridge when it really shouldn't.

Omfg The Train 1964!!! How is that not included given it has not one but multiple thrilling, high-octane train sequences, and massive stunts with trains. I mean a train outrunning a fucking spitfire, a train weaving through an allied bombardment, two men singlehandedly decoupling trains and letting two locomotives crash in full practical glory! Sorry but this compilation is for super mainstream flicks, plenty Westerns and old classics should be included (Octopussy easily one of the best too) for using practical train stunts. What about Unstoppable, or Runaway Train?

  • @gemmafortunyaltarriba5816

An amazing scene is in the Anime Candy Candy, with Candy dressed as a nurse running after the train from Chicago to catch a glimpse of her love, Terry, first running after the train on a horse carriage and later on foot. It's a shame it has not been shot as a regular movie because it would be epic. When they finally see each other and cry out loud their names.

Same with the tunnel strafing scene live pyro it was a underrated movie because it was in black and white .
