- Shirdi Baba sported a moustache and beard. So did Lord Jesus. Why should a Sai-devotee not do the same? Are the dressing and grooming codes that Sri Sathya Sai Baba expected from His people connected to spiritual growth?
These are questions that arise in many minds, especially the young ones. This was answered by Mr. Aravind Balasubramanya and Ms.Anuradha Venkateswaran during the Sri Sathya Sai International Conference in Jaffna, Sri Lanka , drawing upon their learnings and experiences as students in Swami's University.

Sai ram, what is the meaning of the telegue word? The lady at 4. 41 said something like "kaatu, baatu, chootu".. What does that mean? I'm sorry if I wrote it wrong or don't even know what language it is.
Sairam, Kattu, bottu, juttu. Kattu - the way of dressing ( draped in a saree) , bottu - bindi ( dot on the forehead), juttu - styling of the hair (never left loose). In telugu these terms are used to tell how a proper women should be

No brother you did not answer properly,,attire of Shirdi and Puttaparthy is related to their intrest,mood and according to their "time"
True, now time changes, its not about attraction, infact a woman like her in saree would draw more attention than anyone with simple western wear (trouser and shirt or kurti) as a woman,
Its about comfort nowadays, and a sai devotee is aware of how a modest dress will look like, no one will come as Urfi Javed. But some orthodox devotees would not understand this.
Swami was born in 1936, at that time, women's clothing style was entirely different. Now time changes.
If they will not change themselves as an organisation, then people would not like to come to Samithis and interrelated place.
I am a woman and Sai devotee, facing this problem.
