I returned at request from my Father after thirty+ years of absence to look after my Mother as he was dying of cancer. I didn't have a brother/wish I had. so it was only me who had the constant beatings. Still can't work out Mums part in it. She has past now too. I waited to the end for some explanation. Even held Dads hand as he went. Mum said it was because I didn't behave like an adult. I held her hand too. I am alone and that's OK sort of. But why? Why do they hurt their own? Why do they try to kill their children so much inside. I love Dogs and Cats and all animals. But Humans? I am very careful and on my guard.

I was abused by an older sister, that scene where the stepfather took a bat at sleeping Scott, well my sister did something similar to me among other things....I disowned her when I was 45, at 55 I am having severe health crisis-- adrenal fatigue syndrome, aka high levels of prolonged stress when I had to start letting things go, I forgave myself, and my sister- but she's still disowned...am 65 now and am still dealing with insomnia left over from years of not sleeping from stress. Its not that easy to get over being abused, I am a woman..
How can Anyone hurt their own flesh and blood?? Love is Unconditional. We are their Anchor in lifes storms.. no matter their age or circumstances.

omg watching this brought back horrible memories of what my 2nd husband did to his stepson more verbal abuse than physical thank god....but one day i left the sob stayed at a shelter with 5 kids until i got free from his evil narcistic ways

Alot of men and women, can relate to domestic violence, with spousal abuse as well as child abuse, poverty, and drunks for 1 or both parents. Very well written script, ,and brilliant acting. Direction was key.
This was a good movie. Hard to watch at times. Very real. Nature versus nurture. How to boys could grow up to be so different because of the way they were treated. Good acting. Thanks for sharing this movie.

I guess the end is perfect consedering the true confusion of both bros facing a different dad years after. And the extreme opposite paradoxal feelings by which they are passing both of them. I found it very interesting. Who has ever have to live such situation leading to potential murder especially a relative knows how harsh these moments are.

This was a good movie and it's true, everything that's in it.Lord of kid never forgets nothing ever you do a kid wrong and it will remember it and you do it right and it remember you need.Everyone needs to watch this outstanding movie

I guess it was just the plan thet scott dreamed to eliminate his stepfather. It never happened cose events changed : we saw only 2 bodies dropped over the bridge and the stepfather died weeks after becose of lumbs cancer.

The Description describes nothing. It talks about everything under the sun except for the movie. I'm not going to spend 5 minutes, that I'll never get back, watching this just realize that it's not a movie that I'd care to see. Yeah, I spent 5 minutes in this explanation. Because this 5 minutes is worth spending.
