The truth is the founder, Elliot Ludwig was not evil, he loves making kids smile. But when he passed away, Playtime Co. went downhill as the scientist started experimenting the kids by putting their souls in the toys.
Catnap only left Dogday alive because he was the leader of the smiling critters and Catnap wanted Dogday to suffer the most since he was jealous (thats my theory).

I do agree with anyone that thinks that Dogday's legs got cut off, it's true, he was put in a room made with metal, and hung up by chains and cuffs, his legs got cut off by someone, and he got stuck there.

I found out that the children receive there in a safe place away from the toys, but the real story remains. Why did they not just set them free? I look down on a theory on Google.
