  • 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐈 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 aircraft ? Post your number ONE weird looking aircraft below.
    𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
There are many crazy looking aircraft ranging from flying saucers to planes that take off vertically.
Many of these once state-of-the-art oddities were built without the help of advanced computing technology and sophisticated wind tunnel modelling that engineers use to create today.
While most were noble failures or never made it beyond the prototype stage, they nevertheless helped push forward the possibilities of the aviation technology.
As it turns out, humans have made some pretty crazy looking aircraft over the years.
From inflatable aircraft to flying pancakes, here is a roundup of the most insane, strange crazy aircraft to take to the skies.
*There are simply too many aircraft to be filled in one video, below are the rest of the crazy aircraft

The XB-35 looks like exactly what I would imagine the predecessor to the B-2 stealth bomber would look like.
Also, fun fact: the B-36 Peacemakers were the very first planes designed specifically for SAC and for delivering atomic payloads all over the Soviet Union in the event of war. "Peacemaker," in retrospect, is an even more ironic name than originally meant, considering the fallout from SACs war plans (included dropping up to 10 atomic bombs on Moscow alone) would have killed absolutely everyone on planet earth. "Peace" indeed.

WWII Germany's version of the C130 transport plane and the largest land-based transport aircraft of WWII.
It was made almost entirely out of wood, powered by six engines, had a landing gear that looks like it came straight off of the Antonov 225 and twin, nose mounted, cargo doors that made it look like a giant cobra about to strike, whenever they were opened.

-Look, we take 4 PZL Karaś landing gear, strip it into giant bottle, mount a tail and a rotor from a stolen soviet helicopter and attach an old propeller engine and a few wings found on the military scrapyard and put some random hole with a pilot seat at the top. Oh and it will be powered by train engine!

The forward-swept-wing model you showed for the P.1216 was actually the P.1214. The P.1216 had swept-back wings. The P.1216 was the main development effort but it was classified, so BAe put out a lot of artwork of the P.1214, which was really only a design study, in order to show that they were 'doing advanced stuff' without actually giving the game away.
The Do 24 flying boat isn't particularly weird: if you wanted a weird WWII German flying boat then the Blohm und Voss Bv 138 would have been a much better candidate.
I hope you know that the Dombrowski Sedlitz and the Caproni Moroni Scud are jokes right? They're from a series of cartoon aircraft by artist Bruce McCall.

Sort of a side note (pedantic, really), the USAF didn't exist until late 1947. Air forces would have been apart of the Army and during WWII been apart of the USAAF, or United States Army Air Forces. Making the note since I noticed it mention the USAF for the Northrop XB-35 at around 8:07. It would have carried over to the USAF of course with the USAF formation (video does say "and shortly after WWII), but thought someone might like the little history. Great video!
