    It does indeed sound great, and costs roughly $200 as against the $695 or so Brian charges. But it's not nearly as loud. It's strictly a practice amp--although one could, I think, toss a mike in front of it and get a nice sound. Brian's little amp is so loud that it can hold its own, unmiked, in many gig situations. Of course Brian's is handmade, to the highest specs, and comes with a human being behind it, ready to help you further optimize. Two different amps; both offer great value.

    I don't need to do a commercial for Brian, but I purchased a Double Trouble from him about 2 months ago, and it is spectacular. The bass response that he manages to get out of 8" speakers is not to be believed. Also, he's very easy to deal with.

    WOW! What a great sound--and some snippets of really great harp playing too!
    Thanks again, Adam. . .

    i agree. i just brought it up as there will be alot of people looking for a suitable Harp amp that can not afford a harp gear & might not know where to look. I think the new Fender 600 is the same amp as the Gretsch. I tried the new Gretsch amp in the shop & it sounds as good as it looks.

    Didn't I ID it in the video? I thought I did. It's a Shure PE-5H. Billy Joel is singing into one in the video for "Piano Man."

    i thought you said on your forum that the new Gretsch (champ) type amp sounded as good as the harp gear & that cost a quater of the price. not bad for people who can not afford a HG2. I love the sound of the vintage amps .

    Great question. I can't answer it, but maybe Brian P. can.

    @The01time: It's an entirely passive 1-to-2 Y connector.

    Love that "Blues with Feeling" riff. Consider it stolen. :) Amp sounds great. I just got my first bullet, and it makes me glad to hear that you like a clean mic and a dirty amp because my bullet is far cleaner than I expected; however, I have an amp that's as dirty as it gets. That said, thanks to this video, when the time comes to replace, upgrade, or just add an amp, I'll definitely be looking at Harpgear.

    Dirty amp Clean mic perfect match. I just bought a clean shure Hi Z dynamic mic today & it makes my Premier amp sound perfect with no feedback at all even up full. I have got a Harp Gear 30watt & that sounds better with a Dirty Bullet mic - Its not easy at first finding a good set up

    No. I've been playing that much of the song for twenty years. But I don't really know the whole song. I should probably learn it.

    @KudzuRunner thanks for info. i just picked up a dd6 and it has two outs. stereo and mono. i tried both of those and i get both amps cranking. hope i don't mess anything up by that setup. using a vintage tube amp and a solidstate ampeg. and a off the shelf green bullet current model. i think i need to look into mic selection now

    Sounds great with your PE-5H. Will it get the same sound with a 520DX?

    Nothing, absolutely nothing, sounds like a new Harpgear 2--not even an old Harpgear 2.
    Of course, I still love my old Premier Twin-8.
    But I'm buying a new Harpgear 2.
