Tappu drums being played at the Kali Yatra Devi Yag at the Divali Nagar. These drums are synonymous with the Madrasi style of Devi worship. This tradition of drumming was brought by the Tamil speaking Indian indentured labourers who hailed from in and around modern day Tamil Nadu (Formally known as Madras)

At around the 00:36 part, the drumming switched from Trinidad style to Guyanese style…from 00:48 onwards, that’s the guyanese variation of Kavaldheivum hand also known as call up hand or invocation hand. played during offerings to the guardian spirits and village deities like Katerie, Sangili Karuppan, Muniswaran, Angala Paremeswarie, Mariamman, and Madurai Veeran.
it gets the name call up hand or invocation hand since this is the hand that is played when the oracle-vessel (maruladi) is being ritually placed under trance for Kaliamman or Mariamman to take over and manifest on the body for healing/jharay etc. this hand invokes the deity, and the last hand that followed this one in the video is called Dance Hand. when the Goddess has fully taken possession of the Oracle’s body, the drumming switches to this hand to enchant her and cause her to dance which leads into the welcoming and oath ceremonies afterwards.

@@navinsingh3748 Thank you very much for your answer ! Very interesting !
We use the same pattern in Martinique, the "call up hand" when invocating the deities (from 00:39 link below)
Our "dance hand" is different. When the Marulaadi is being fully possessed by the deity, we play the pattern from 00:23 (link below) to keep the please the deity and keep the Marulaadi under trance state.
