    I really like my Clarity headset, but I sure wouldn't say no to Santa bringing me one of the new Lightspeed headsets - and I've been a very very good boy this year...

    Nice video. I’ll be heading over to Sling shortly (in fact I’m on my way…sitting at the airport in Taipei waiting for my next flight to KSFO as I type this), and I’m bringing my headset, which is a DC, but not the fancy one you’ve got there….I’ve got the David Clark H10-13.4, which I bought new in 1995 (that’s not a typo), and I’ve only had to replace the microphone foam cover….it’s bulletproof!

      Good but noisy and you can feel the clamp force after long usage

    Flew a 5+ hour leg using a borrowed Bose A20 headset. For whatever reason, I felt like I was sitting in a barrel. There was a slight echo effect, but that's just me. David Clark offered a 30-day trail of their DC One X. Flew a 4-day trip with it. Kept it, and ordered another as a second one for my Decathlon. One fella I flew with had the latest Lightspeed - his second in ten years. He loves it, and says their customer support is great.

    The Mechanical quality score of the Zulu 3 should have been higher than the Bose. The Zulu 3 has Magnesium Ear cups, Magnesium sliders, a Stainless steel headband and a Kevlar braided cable. The Bose is all Plastic except for the sliders.

      What are your thoughts on the new Bose A30?

    • @Boebus666
      @Boebus666 Před rokem +2

      @@SlingPilotAcademy In terms of Mechanical Quality, it's tought to tell. Apparently they've changed the material of the sliders from Magnesium to Aluminum. Also the down cable is now made from thinner wire which while lighter, may not be as robust as the A20s cable. The A20 even with its thicker wire still had issues with fraying with age. Only time will tell with the A30. Most Pilots who've used both already say that the A20 felt like it was built better like a Professional Headset should be as compared to the A30 which feels like a consumer grade audio Headset. I doubt the A30 will be able to withstand abuse as well as the A20 does.
      In terms of everything else, I'm sure their Audio quality, Mic and ANR is a small step up. With the lower clamping force, the PNR would most likely be lesser than the A20. So if you have a battery failure, it would be really loud and you may struggle with communications.

      @@Boebus666 Great analysis! We will be filming an unboxing and review video on the A30 soon. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up in the long run like you said.

      But keep in mind, the Bose Pro Flights aren't made for Piston Cockpits. They're mainly for Noisy Jets and some Turboprops.
      Try the Clarity Alofts.
